  • Patent number: 7801657
Abstract: A control system for a vehicle having first and second wheels is provided that includes a differential apparatus adapted to distribute torque between the first and second wheels and a traction controller for controlling operation of the differential apparatus from vehicle launch up to a predetermined vehicle speed. The traction controller is configured to engage the differential apparatus in a first operating state according to at least one vehicle operating parameter indicative of a low traction operating condition and to further control engagement of the differential apparatus in a second vehicle operating state during the low traction operating condition according to a difference between an actual vehicle yaw rate and a predetermined target vehicle yaw rate. The control system also includes a stability controller for controlling engagement of the differential apparatus at or above the predetermined vehicle speed.

  • Patent number: 7634955
Abstract: A method of controlling drive of a driving motor for a rotary indexing device is provided. The device includes an indexing mechanism that indexes an angular position of a circular table by rotating the circular table with the use of the driving motor as a driving source, a clamping mechanism that holds the indexed angular position, and a control unit that controls drive of the driving motor by position control. In the method, the control unit controls the drive of the driving motor during operation of the clamping mechanism with a content of control in which an output torque of the driving motor by the position control becomes smaller than an output torque by the position control during indexing of the angular position of the circular table for an equivalent positional deviation.

  • Patent number: 7263915
Abstract: A turret includes a central shaft, a piston sleeve positioned around the central shaft and having moving sticks thereon, a push rod, an actuating seat, and internal and external turrets; the piston sleeve is left and right movable by a power source; the moving sticks are passed through a ringed sleeve, which props a push rod passed through a fixed clutch claw, and facing the actuating seat; the actuating seat includes a rotary shaft, a pivotal shaft, and a toothed ring seat; the piston sleeve can be moved such that the moving sticks and the push rod move forwards, and the rotary shaft engages the toothed ring seat for a tool of a straight tool seat to function; alternatively the piston sleeve can be moved such that the moving sticks and the push rod move backwards, and the rotary shaft disengages the toothed ring seat for allowing replacement of the toothed ring seat.

  • Patent number: 5161290
Abstract: A tool-rest driving device comprising a drive motor having its output shaft, a first rotatable shaft axially aligned with the motor output shaft and driven to rotate by the motor output shaft, a tool rest having at least one rotational tool, a reduction gear arranged between the first rotatable shaft and the tool rest for reducing the number of rotations of the motor output shaft, the tool rest being rotated at the reduced number of rotations, and a second rotatable shaft arranged coaxially of the motor output shaft for driving the rotational tool of the tool rest. A center axis of the rotational shaft, a center axis of the reduction gear and an axis of rotation of the tool rest are arranged on the same axis.

  • Patent number: 4321746
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a tool storage carousel assembly for use in a tool change system of a vertical lathe or the like. The tool storage carousel assembly generally comprises a rotatable turntable having a plurality of radially projecting tool block supporting elements. Each of the tool blocks to be stored in the carousel assembly is provided with a top surface having an upwardly opening, clamping slot extending completely across the top surface. Each of the projecting tool block supporting elements of the rotatable turntable is arranged and configured for slidable reception in the clamping slot of one of the tool blocks to be stored in the carousel assembly whereby the particular tool block is supported by the tool block supporting element for storage on the carousel assembly. In accordance with an important feature of the invention, each of the radially projecting elements of the rotatable turntable includes a recess means formed therein.
