Interdigitated Lock Means Patents (Class 81/328)
  • Patent number: 11065740
Abstract: A fixed adjustable wrench. The fixed adjustable wrench includes a handle having a fixed jaw and an adjustable jaw forming a gap therebetween. The adjustable jaw is slidable along a shoulder and is adapted to cooperate with the fixed jaw to secure an object within the gap. An engagement member having a first set of teeth is configured to selectively interlock with a second set of teeth of the adjustable jaw. A second end of the engagement member is operably connected to a lever that is selectively moveable between an engagement position and a disengagement position. In the engagement position, the engagement member is coupled to the adjustable jaw via an interlocking of the first set of teeth and the second set of teeth. In the disengagement position, the engagement member is disengaged from the adjustable jaw allowing selective positioning of the adjustable jaw.

  • Patent number: 6860179
Abstract: A clamp device is disclosed having a first member having a handle portion and a jaw portion. A second member has a handle portion and a jaw portion. The handle portion and jaw portion of the second member define a notch extending from an inner surface of the handle portion of the second member at least partially into the jaw portion of the second member, the second member being formed as a single piece. A pivot is pivotally coupling the first member and the second member intermediate their respective handle portion and jaw portion for opposed pivotal motion. An arcuate clamp bar has a first end coupled to the first member and a second end, an arc of the arcuate clamp bar being concentric with the pivot. A brake lever has an end pivotally coupled to the second member at the notch. The end contacts the jaw portion of the second member. The brake lever has an aperture with the arcuate clamp bar extending therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5176702
Abstract: Releasable ratchet mechanism for medical instruments such as endoscopic instruments are disclosed. The ratchet mechanism includes: a leaf spring with a locking barb which is located on a handle of the medical instrument; a ratchet on a lever arm of the medical instrument which lever arm is pivotally engaged to the handle; and a latch on the handle of the medical instrument. The latch on the handle engages and resiliently deforms the leaf spring to cause engagement of the locking barb in a groove of the ratchet when the latch is in a first position. When in a second position, the latch releases the locking barb from the ratchet groove. Preferably, the locking barb has an extending edge surface on an axis which is substantially parallel to the pivoting axis of the handle and lever arm, and the teeth of the ratchet have extending edge surfaces on axes substantially parallel to the extending edge surface of the locking barb.
