With Toggle Linkage And Actuated Jaw Mounted On Carrier Patents (Class 81/375)
  • Patent number: 11291520
Abstract: A head fixation device in the form of a skull clamp comprises an opening device having an actuator positioned along an upright portion of the skull clamp near where a pin assembly contacts a patient's head for stabilization. The opening device can be actuated such that the relative distance between arms of the skull clamp can be opened, closed, or adjusted. The opening device is substantially positioned within one of the arms of the skull clamp. In some versions the skull clamp further comprises an attachment feature having an offset configuration.

  • Patent number: 7833243
Abstract: The invention relates to a medical grasping and holding instrument with a handle consisting of two handgrips and with a holding portion that consists of at least two jaw members and can be activated by the handle. The jaw members of the holding portion can be locked by means of a spring element both in an end position that releases the holding portion and in an end position that locks the holding portion. In order to create a medical grasping and holding instrument that is of simple construction, can be operated with just one hand, and is easy to clean, it is proposed with this invention that the spring element, configured as a flat spring, for locking the jaw members in their end positions is mounted between the handgrips of the handle so as to connect the two handgrips to one another in such a way that the spring element can be moved by way of a bearing point of a handgrip at the spring element between two end positions that release the spring element.

  • Patent number: 7761979
Abstract: A coaxial connector crimping tool has a base, a handle, a transmittal unit and a crimping area. The base has a containment slot, and the containment slot has a guiding structure. One end of the handle is pivoted on an end of the base. Two ends of the transmittal unit are respectively pivoted on a first predetermined position of the guiding structure and a second predetermined position of the handle, and the transmittal unit has an adjustable length. The transmittal unit has an adjustable portion, and the adjustable portion is disposed between the first predetermined position and the second predetermined position. The crimping area is pivoted on the transmittal unit and disposed in the containment slot.

  • Patent number: 6279432
Abstract: A hand tool comprising a first handle member with integral jaw, a second handle member, and a third jaw member, all three members pivotally connected by a single common pivot pin. All three members are also cooperatively connected by a force multiplying mechanism, wherein an operative force applied to the handles is multiplied and applied to a work piece by the jaws. One embodiment of the invention features a “U”-shaped handle with two common pivot pin connection points, providing structural strength and handling stability. Other embodiments also comprise power assist devices to provide electrical and pneumatic work piece manipulation forces.

  • Patent number: 5609080
Abstract: Locking pliers including fixed unit of generally elongate shape which forms at one end a fixed handle and at the other end a fixed jaw. A movable unit includes a movable jaw articulated to the fixed jaw, and an actuating lever of which one end is articulated to the movable jaw and the other end forms a movable handle. Also, a toggle mechanism is provided and includes a link articulated to an intermediate point of the lever and extending to a rear bearing point adjustable along the length of the fixed handle. The actuating lever crosses a straight line which joins the articulation of the movable jaw to the bearing point of the link, and the fixed handle extends substantially along a straight line joining the articulation to the bearing point.

  • Patent number: 5499800
Abstract: A bar clamp having a locking pliers, toggle action clamping mechanism is herein disclosed. The locking pliers includes a fixed handle, a movable handle, and a toggling linkage arrangement therebetween for toggling the locking pliers from a first open position to a second clamped position. An extension bar is connected at one end to the fixed handle. The bar clamp includes an adjustable outer clamping jaw slidably connected to the extension bar. The outer clamping jaw includes disengagable locking mechanism for disengagably locking the outer clamping jaw in any given position along the length of the extension bar. The bar clamp also includes an inner clamping jaw connected to the toggling linkage arrangement such that when the locking pliers are toggled into the clamped position the inner clamping jaw is caused to move toward the adjustable outer clamping jaw.

  • Patent number: 4499797
Abstract: A wrench includes an upper jaw integral with a handle and a force multiplying cam member pivotally mounted on the handle. A lower jaw has a pivot point for pivoting relative to the cam member and the upper jaw. A sliding bar is mounted inside the handle to slide with respect thereto. A free end of a first toggle linkage member is pivotally connected to an ear of the lower jaw and a free end of a second toggle linkage member is pivotally connected to the sliding bar so that the pivot point can move relative to the handle. A tension spring extends between the ear and the lower jaw to urge it away from the upper jaw. An extension integral with the first toggle member forms a second handle coextensive with the first handle and cooperates therewith to move the jaws toward each other as the handles are squeezed together. Such movement continues until the jaws contact an associated object. Continued squeezing of the handles causes the second toggle member to move the sliding bar back from the upper jaw.
