Patent number: 4176572Abstract: A dual-knife device for scribing or scoring a wood workpiece before sawing it with a motorized circular handsaw or other saw. The scoring insures a clean saw cut without splintering the wood at the edges, as is required in trimming veneer doors and wall panels. Patent number: 4155383Abstract: An accessory for an electric router which facilitates edging, trimming, groove cutting, and the like, on small workpieces. The accessory features a two tier construction, the workpiece being positioned on a work table pivotally mounted to the lower tier, while the router is vertically mounted on the upper tier. The upper tier is vertically movable with respect to the lower tier to accommodate the workpiece therebetween. The upper tier comprises a pair of parallel guide rails along which the router may be slidably moved through the workpiece. In an alternate mode of operation, the router may be securely clamped to the guide rails and the workpiece pushed along the work table through the router bit by a safety tool.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1977Date of Patent: May 22, 1979Inventor: Edward V. Patent number: 4146962Abstract: A mill for guiding the cutting of a chain saw includes a pair of rail members, each rail member comprising a length of C-channel, with a lip joined to the distal edge of one leg of the channel and extending parallel to the web of the channel. At least one hole is disposed in the web of each channel length, and a long bolt extends through the hole to join the rail members in parallel disposition. A plurality of rectangular spacer members of various thicknesses are each provided with a hole therethrough to receive the bolt. The bolt extends through a hole in the chain saw bar near the power head to assemble the rail members and spacer members to the chain saw. The lip of one rail member acts as a rip fence riding on a previously cut edge, with the spacers employed to join the chain saw bar to the rip fence at a selected spacing interval therefrom.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1978Date of Patent: April 3, 1979Inventor: George Grube

Patent number: 4134203Abstract: A mill for guiding the cutting of a chain saw includes a mill frame comprising a pair of longitudinally spaced, parallel members joined by a plurality of rod-like runners extending orthogonally therebetween and joined to the lower surfaces thereof. A chain saw bar may be secured subjacent to the mill frame and selectively spaced therefrom by a pair of bolts extending through the chain saw bar to the mill frame, and a plurality of tubular spacer members secured on each bolt between the bar and the mill frame. The runners of the mill frame ride on a plank secured on a log or on a previously cut surface to guide the chain saw in making planar, longitudinal cuts through a log. A slider assembly is also provided, clamped to the longitudinal members of the mill frame, and adapted to secure the chain saw in spaced relation therefrom with the chain saw bar extending downwardly therefrom.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1977Date of Patent: January 16, 1979Inventor: George Grube

Patent number: 4133237Abstract: A work table for a saw includes, a base member supporting elongated guide channels at an elevated position relative to the base member, a saw mounting plate slidably supported in the guide channels, the plate having a rectangular opening over which the base plate or shoe of a commercially available portable power saw is secured, a work supporting plate capable of being removably secured in alternative positions either below the saw supporting plate in which the table operates in the docking saw mode, or above the saw supporting plate in which the table operates in the bench saw mode, the work supporting plate having stops by means of which the saw supporting plate is secured in position when the work table is operating in the bench saw mode. The work supporting plate is formed with slots for receiving the blade of the saw in both modes of operation and for receiving mitre guages and work stops.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1977Date of Patent: January 9, 1979Inventor: George Lewin
