Abstract: The blade guides of this invention depart from prior art by using the blade to drive thrust rollers, of resilient elastomeric construction, into which the blade's teeth are locked synergetically in an inverse manifestation of the chain and sprocket principle. Lateral thrust force against the blade's teeth is distributed equally along the blade's irregular edge by the correspondingly irregular shape of the elastomeric thrust roller creating an interface of sufficient area to thwart the cutting action of the blade's teeth.

The saw includes a casing, a pair of spaced apart pulleys mounted in opposed housings on the casing for rotatably supporting an endless saw blade, and a trigger guard attached to the back of the casing behind the motor housing. The stand includes a horizontally disposed base plate, a vertically disposed pedestal and a short, narrow facing piece mounted on the base plate, so that the L-shaped trigger guard, when placed in an upright position, will snugly fit, remaining upright, and a bracket situated near the top of the pedestal which serves to retain the upper portion of the bandsaw. A trigger actuating means is mounted on the pedestal for holding the trigger of a saw suspended in the cradle in either an on or an off position.

Abstract: A machine which separates pallet boards from their connecting stringers by sawing essentially through their attaching nails only, thus minimizing damage to the boards so that they can be reused. In order to separate and loosen the boards so that only the nails are cut a pressing device is designed to squeeze the sides of a pallet inserted within it. Then the loosened pallet, with the boards lifted so that there is space enough for a saw blade to be inserted to cut the nails only, is sent through the previously described sawing machine.

Abstract: A device for separating bony material, such as a rib, from a meat piece, for example a half belly piece, comprising a frame (1), wherein the meat piece is fixed,at least one carrier (2) supported by the frame,an elongate element (3) formed into a loop, a portion of which is arranged movably in the carrier, anddrive means (23) connected to the carrier (2) for setting the element (3) into movement relative to the carrier, such that said loop-shaped elongate element can be arranged around a rib by placing it from one end thereof into the meat piece and moving it along the rib, whereas simultaneously a tensile force perpendicularly onto the rib is exerted, whereupon the rib piece can be separated from the meat and membranes and owing to the loop-shaped element as much meat as possible will remain behind in the meat piece.

Abstract: A chop cutting apparatus comprises a cutting blade; a loin holding device mounted for reciprocal translation in a direction parallel to the plain of the cutting blade; a pusher for urging a loin along the loin holding device into the plate of the cutting blade; an abutment member on the opposite side of the cutting blade and against which the loin is urged; and a scraping device positioned to clean the chops cut from the loin. The scraping device comprises a plurality of resilient wiping fingers which extend in a direction substantially in a plane parallel to the plane of the cutting blade and angled relative to the discharge direction of the cut chops, with means for urging the cut chop into contact with said fingers so that they bear against a surface of the chop thereby cleaning it of fat, grease and other residue.

  • Patent number: 4987642
Abstract: An apparatus for separating a soft material such as meat from a hard material such as bone has a generally stationary support and a holder that supports an object comprised of the hard and soft materials stationarily adjacent the support with an interface between the hard and soft material extending to a cutting plane. A chassis is pivotal on the support about a chassis axis transverse to the plane and an outer pulley is pivotal on the chassis remote from the support and generally tangent to the plane. A carriage displaceable on the support transversely of the plane pivotally suports an inner pulley pivotal on the carriage close to the support and spaced along the plane from the outer pulley. One of the pulleys is rotated to advance the chain.

  • Patent number: 4793232
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting a soft material, such as meat, from a hard material, such as bone, according to the invention has a chain formed of a succession of alternating cutting and coupling links extending along a longitudinal line. The cutting links are of generally polygonal cross-sectional shape and have corners forming longitudinally extending sharp cutting edges spaced a predetermined maximum transverse distance from the line. In addition the coupling links are of a predetermined maximum radial dimension from the line shorter than the distance such that the cutting edges project transversely beyond the coupling links and the cutting links are rotatable in the chain about the line. This chain is advanced in a longitudinal direction parallel to the line. Thus the cutting links will naturally pivot to lie flat on the hard material and slide therealong, neatly cutting along the hard/soft interface.
