Abstract: An operation method of a mobile application model is provided. An application model is composed that separates applications into individual views and executes the individual views with independent processes. Only a code for a running view is loaded in a memory and a corresponding application is executed in the composed application model when switching to the running view for execution of the corresponding application.

Abstract: A hybrid multiple access apparatus and method in a mobile communication system supporting various multiple access schemes are provided, in which an initial service negotiation is performed in a non-orthogonal transmission scheme between an MS and a BS, the BS receives from the MS an orthogonal resource request for high-speed packet data transmission, and the BS allocates orthogonal resources to the MS based on channel estimation information indicating a channel status between the MS and the BS.

Abstract: A vehicle mounted printer station is made up of a printer secured to a support surface tray that includes an adaptor capable of attaching the tray and printer to the top of a vehicle seat. The support surface is preferably a rectangular shaped plate with front, back and side edges along with top and bottom surfaces. The bottom surface is attached to the adaptor, the adaptor includes at least one attachment rod for securing the support surface to the vehicle seat. The attachment rods are sized to be received into receptacles provided in the top of a vehicle seat designed for the vehicle headrest.

Abstract: A method for improving discontinuous reception for a user equipment of a wireless communication system includes separately managing retransmission reception time limits of a plurality of downlink hybrid automatic repeat request (DL HARQ) processes when the discontinuous reception is used in the plurality of DL HARQ processes.

Abstract: A method of polling in a wireless communications system includes prohibiting polling within a predetermined period and triggering a poll function while polling is prohibited. After the predetermined period has expired the method determines that there are no protocol data units (PDUs) scheduled for transmission or re-transmission and that the poll function was triggered by a “window-based” trigger, and selects a PDU to schedule for re-transmission to fulfill the poll function.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for performing cell selection to a Home cell or a Private network in a mobile communication system are provided, in which a User Equipment (UE) determines a candidate cell by measuring a serving cell and neighbor cells, receives an indicator indicating a Home cell or a Private network in system information from the candidate cell, determines whether the candidate cell is included in a Home cell or Private network list set in the UE, and selects the candidate cell if the candidate cell is included in the Home cell or Private network list.

Abstract: A steering device for decreasing a turning radius of a pallet jack is disclosed. The steering device comprises a first portion fixedly connected to the pallet jack between a main wheel and the extensible roller thereof. A second portion pivotally attaches to the first portion. A spring disposed within the first portion urges the second portion to remain in a selected position. A wheel disposes within the second portion. Positioning the pallet jack towards the lowered position, the wheel engages the ground causing the extensible roller to disengage the ground whereupon the main wheel and the wheel define a second turning radius which is lesser than the first turning radius. Upon the wheel contacting a lower cross member of a pallet, the second portion is urged against the biasing force of the spring to pivot relatively upwards and over the lower cross member.

It is determined whether an RTP header extension field is included in the RTP header. Information indicating a determination result is recorded. Profile information of the RTP header extension field is recorded. Total length information of the RTP header extension field is recorded. Information indicating whether changed data exists is recorded using a header extension information map.

Abstract: A medical dressing for an open wound includes a base, and a raised flexible therapeutic cover formed with base. The base has opposing inside and outside major surfaces, and continuous inside and outside peripheral edges. The inside peripheral edge defines a wound site opening and designed to surround the open wound. The raised-flexible therapeutic cover extends over and above the wound site opening defined by the inside peripheral edge. A compression spring resiliently spaces the therapeutic cover from the open wound.

Abstract: A battery management system is provided. The system includes a battery monitoring device having a microprocessor and a hardware component. The microprocessor identifies a non-modifiable node ID from the hardware component. The microprocessor also obtains operational parameters associated with the at least one battery cell. The microprocessor computes a network ID for the battery monitoring device based on the non-modifiable node ID. The system further includes a main controller that communicates with the battery monitoring device via a communication bus utilizing the network ID.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and a method for inserting additional data into an image file in an electronic device. According to the method, when an event of inserting additional data into the image file occurs, an identification code representing insertion of additional data is recorded in a corresponding header within the image file, and the additional data is added to an end portion of the image file.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of measurement on a home cell/private network cell, by a user equipment (UE), in a mobile communication system, the method including the steps of: transmitting a request message requesting the measurement to a network node, the request message including an indicator instructing at least one of register, join, and use of the home cell/private network cell; receiving a response message corresponding to the request message from the network node, the response message including context information for measurement control of at least one home cell/private network cell accessible by the UE; and selectively executing measurement on the accessible home cell/private network cell by using the context information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for transmitting a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message by a User Equipment (UE) in an idle mode in an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) system. The UE transmits one combined message of an AS control message and a NAS control message including information indicating transmission of an SIP message, thereby having an effect on an upper node to reduce a delay due to message processing.

Abstract: Provided is a method for transmitting an uplink Channel Sounding (CS) Reference Signal (RS) channel in a wireless communication system. The method includes transmitting symbols of the CS RS channel through an entire system band in a previously selected at least one of Long Blocks (LBs) constituting one time slot of a subframe; and transmitting symbols of control channels through a predetermined band in LBs remaining after symbols of the CS RS channel are applied in the time slot, by applying an orthogonal sequence determined according to the number of LBs to which symbols of the CS RS channel are applied.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for multimedia file streaming are provided. In a method for multimedia file streaming in a receiving portable terminal, the method includes determining meta data included in a received packet, generating new meta data having a circular-type media data offset on the basis of the meta data, storing media data included in the packet received in a circular manner according to the media data offset included in the new meta data, and loading the media data stored according to the media data offset included in the new meta data.

Abstract: A serving cell change method and apparatus is provided for efficiently performing the serving cell change in a mobile communication system. The UE receives a cell change control information including an activation time from a serving cell, when a downlink channel status of the serving cell is inferior to a downlink channel status of a target cell, reports a measurement result to the serving cell while performing data communication with the serving cell, monitors receipt of a cell change indicator transmitted by the target cell before the expiration of the activation time while performing the data communication with the serving cell, and when the cell change indicator is received, communicates data with the target cell by sending an acknowledgement in response to the cell change indicator and switching to the target cell.

Abstract: A method for switching a mode by a terminal in a Location Based Service (LBS) system based on Visible Light Communication (VLC). The method includes determining whether a visible light signal is received, and if so, determining whether the visible light signal is received from a transmission device; if the visible light signal is received, receiving data using the visible light signal; acquiring identification information of the transmission device from the received data; comparing location information corresponding to the identification information of the transmission device with pre-stored map information; and displaying map data corresponding to the location information.

Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for video telephony in a portable terminal. In the method, all image frames received from a video telephony counterpart terminal are decoded when a video telephony event is detected. Thereafter, it is determined if the received image frames are accumulated in a buffer of the portable terminal. Thereafter, only a portion of the decoded image frames are selected and displayed when the received image frames are accumulated in the buffer.
