Abstract: A mechanism to enable multiple message threads management in the context of the Converged IP Messaging (CPM) service and in the context of CPM inter-working with SMS is provided. A CPM user can simply start a message-based conversation with another CPM or Short Message Service (SMS) user without explicitly establishing a session beforehand. All messages that belong to a given conversation are displayed in the corresponding conversational view (i.e. window) in the CPM user device, even if the conversation is stopped and restarted at a later time, and even if there are multiple message threads available (currently active or stored) in the CPM device. Message structures and behavior of the CPM system elements to enable the functionalities above as well as a mechanism makes the message threads management possible even between a CPM user and an SMS user are also provided.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for dynamic channel allocation in a multiple channel wireless communication system are provided. The apparatus includes a scheduler for dividing resources to be used for a band Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) channel and a diversity channel, a generator for generating a MAP heading field including physical distribution information on the band AMC channel and the diversity channel, and a mapper for mapping the MAP heading field to a predetermined physical resource region.

Abstract: A lighting fixture for use in video conferencing and general illumination includes a housing forming an interior cavity. The housing has an opening in a bottom portion thereof. The lighting fixture also includes at least one light holder for holding at least one light source positioned within the interior cavity of the housing, at least one diffuser plate positioned over the opening of the housing, and a plurality of louvers adjacent to the diffuser plate over the opening of the housing. Each of the plurality of louvers is positioned at an angle such that light produced by the light source is directed to a specific area.

Abstract: A method for improving discontinuous reception (DRX) functionality for a user equipment (UE) of a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method includes steps of starting a DRX Retransmission Timer to monitor a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH); and stopping the DRX Retransmission Timer when a downlink transmission for a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) process is indicated by the monitored PDCCH no matter whether the downlink transmission is successfully decoded.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for providing and updating PDG information. In a method for updating PDG information in a terminal, an instruction indicating an update of PDG information is received from a network apparatus. PDG information is received from the network apparatus and the received PDG information is stored in a storage unit to perform an update operation.

Abstract: A lamp assembly to be incorporated into or positioned on a truck's existing support structure comprising: a heat sink; an electrically insulating dielectric coating disposed on the heat sink; a plurality of circuit traces disposed on the dielectric coating; a plurality of LEDs disposed on and electrically connected to one another by the dielectric coating; and a cover disposed substantially over and protecting the heat sink, the dielectric coating, the circuit traces, and the LEDs. The LEDs are spaced apart at intervals to provide general illumination. Abstract: Provided are a method, a device, and a system for displaying at least one character for identifying a caller, together with the caller's phone number, on a recipient's mobile phone when an incoming call is received. The system includes a caller's mobile phone for allowing the caller to input a recipient's phone number and at least one character desired to be added after the phone number, generating an outgoing call message including the caller's phone number, recipient's phone number and input word or phrase for an outgoing call, and sending the generated message; a base station for receiving the outgoing call message, and changing the outgoing call message to an incoming call message which will be sent to the recipient's mobile phone; and the recipient's mobile phone for receiving the incoming call message and outputting any word or phrase included in the incoming call message.

Abstract: A method for reducing a Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) using reserved tones in a transmission apparatus of an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) communication system is provided. The method includes detecting a subcarrier spacing interval and the number of spaced symbols based on a predetermined pilot pattern upon signal reception, and determining positions of shifted reserved tones obtained by shifting positions of reserved tones allocated to a predetermined symbol during the number of the spaced symbols at intervals of the spacing interval; determining an impulse waveform obtained by rotating a phase of a complex value of an impulse stored in a memory, using the determined positions of frequency-domain reserved tones of each symbol; calculating a subtrahend for a PAPR of an output signal using the phase-rotated impulse waveform; and reducing a PAPR of an input signal by performing a gradient algorithm using the phase-rotated impulse waveform.

Abstract: A method for enhancing receiving efficiency of a multimedia broadcast multicast service, know as MBMS, in a wireless communications system includes setting an indicator for indicating whether an MBMS service is transmitted on an MBSFN, an abbreviation of MBMS over a Single Frequency Network, carrier or not, and sending the indicator to a user equipment of the wireless communications system.

Abstract: An apparatus for generating a linear code according to the present invention includes a coding unit for coding input bits with a second coding scheme which is different from a first coding scheme for generating the linear code; and a rearrangement unit for generating the linear code by rearranging the bits coded with the second coding scheme. The present invention can provide a coding apparatus and method capable of reducing complexity by adaptively applying it to various coding scheme.

Abstract: A variable sub-carrier mapping method comprising steps of: applying different bit interleaving schemes to different transmissions of a hybrid automatic retransmission request (HARQ) process in side of transmitter; and in the side of the transmitter, modulating symbols onto sub-carriers for transmitting. Different transmissions in one HARQ process adopt different bit interleavers or different symbol-to-sub-carrier mapping methods so as to realize that the same bit of different transmissions in one HARQ process is transmitted via different sub-carriers. Therefore, the system achieves the frequency diversity gain and reduces the probability of failure of HARQ transmission caused by that some bits are always transmitted via the sub-carrier with the same deep fading. In this way, the average HARQ retransmission times can be reduced and the system throughput can be improved.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for timing acquisition and carrier frequency offset estimation of an OFDM communication system and an apparatus using the same. For this purpose the present invention provides a method for calculating at least one auto-correlation and calculating an observation value by performing a sliding sum on the at least one auto-correlation, and calculating a peak point of an absolute value of the observation as frame timing. In addition, the present invention provides a method for generating a third OFDM symbol that is generated by delaying a second OFDM symbol, calculating an observation value through the second and third OFDM symbols, and calculating a phase difference from a result of multiplication of the observation value and a conjugate complex value of the observation value such that a carrier frequency offset can be estimated.

Abstract: An external connection interface emulation method and apparatus of a mobile terminal for exploiting the mobile terminal as a network adaptor of another terminal are provided. The external connection interface emulation apparatus includes a network modem for supporting communication through the mobile communication system; and a controller, which configures the network modem for operating the mobile terminal as an external network adaptor of another terminal or a communication device as it is, according to an input signal. The external connection interface emulation apparatus and method establish a communication link between a WiBro modem and a USB port at the software level making it possible to use the mobile phone as an external modem regardless of whether the WiBro modem and the USB port are compatible or not.

Abstract: Provided is a method of forming a signal in a wireless communication system in which a plurality of terminals commonly use time and frequency resources for efficient code hopping. The method includes allocating the same frequency-axis sequence and different time-axis sequences to a plurality of terminals by using a resource index according to a first slot in the first slot; and allocating different frequency-axis sequences and different time-axis sequences to the plurality of terminals by using a resource index according to a second slot in the second slot.

The communication control device determines and groups at least one of the two or more light sources to be included in a cell according to a generated user service, maps the grouped at least one light source to the cell, allocates a time slot used to provide the user service to the cell, transmits data associated with the user service to at least one of the one or more VLC terminals through the at least one light source mapped to the cell using the allocated time slot, detects a location of the at least one VLC terminal located in a service area of the cell on a real-time basis, and remaps the cell according to the detected location.

Abstract: A refrigeration system having a main circuit including a main compressor thermally coupled with a secondary or subcooling circuit. The main circuit uses a R125/R143A blend as a refrigerant and the subcooling circuit uses an R32 blend. To this end, the present invention includes a user interface screen by which a user can adjust the output volume level of the ring tone which rings according to the passage of time. Thus, the present invention provides a user interface screen by which a user can adjust the output volume level of a ring tone which rings according to the passage of time, and enables the user to set the output level of the ring tone and the output time of the ring tone at a corresponding level according to predetermined intervals through the screen.
