Abstract: A mobile communication terminal is disclosed that allows an incoming call notification mode to be automatically changed depending on an ambient noise signal level, thus eliminating the need to manually change the incoming call notification mode. A microphone capable of automatically changing an incoming call notification mode according to a noise signal level is provided and the terminal stores at least one reference noise signal level; drives the microphone according to a set automatic incoming call notification changing mode to measure a perceived noise signal value; compares the measured noise signal value with the stores reference noise signal level; and sets an incoming call notification mode of the mobile communication terminal to one of a bell mode and a vibration mode according to the result.

Abstract: An antenna apparatus allows for internal impedance matching by employing an internal matching device therein. The antenna apparatus includes a board body formed of a dielectric material and having a flat structure. The antenna apparatus also includes an antenna device disposed on an upper surface of the board body, and the internal matching device disposed on a lower surface of the board body. The antenna device extends from a feed point and has a first impedance. The internal matching device is connected to the antenna device and has a second impedance used for matching the first impedance with a reference impedance. The antenna device and the internal matching device resonate at the reference impedance in a specific frequency band when a voltage is supplied through the feed point.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for signal detection according to frequency bands used in an RFID system. The apparatus includes a low-noise amplifier for low-noise amplifying a received signal, a receiver unit for detecting a CW signal and a tag signal, a transmitter unit for frequency up-converting and outputting an input signal, a PLL for generating a frequency signal according to a transmission signal band or a reception signal band, a receiver unit switch for connecting the receiver unit with the low-noise amplifier or a directional coupler, an antennas switch for connecting the antenna with the directional coupler or low-noise amplifier, and a controller unit for controlling a frequency of the frequency signal generated by the PLL, turning off transmission power in a case of an LBT scheme, controlling the receiver unit switch and the antenna switch, and determining if a corresponding channel is an idle channel.

Abstract: A method for displaying web content on a mobile communication terminal is provided. When a touch input is received from a user for web content displayed on the mobile communication terminal having a touch screen, a process for selecting an area to be enlarged at a position where the touch input is generated and overlapping, enlarging, and displaying the selected area on the entire screen is performed. When the selected area is enlarged, rendering performance can be improved and a dynamic view can be provided to the user.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing data packet security in a wireless sensor network including a plurality of sensor nodes. The apparatus includes a memory unit for storing a plurality of node characteristic information and a plurality of settable security status information, each of the node characteristic information corresponding to at least one of the settable security status information; and a control unit for examining the node characteristic information of the control unit, if a data packet generation request is made, detecting the security status information corresponding to the examined node characteristic information from the memory unit, and generating data packets including the detected security status information.

Abstract: A method for improving transmission time interval bundling transmission in a wireless communication system includes transmitting a first bundle at a first time point, and transmitting a second bundle at a second time point behind the first time point, wherein the second time point is located in a bundle round trip time of the first bundle, and the bundle round trip time is a specific multiple of a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request Round Trip Time.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling a whitening function of a whitening Maximum Ratio Combining (MRC) in a receive end of a multiple antenna system are provided. The method includes identifying if there is interference from at least one neighbor cell, if there is interference, generating a weight of the whitening MRC using a pre-whitening inverse matrix, and, if there is no interference, generating a weight of the whitening MRC using a unit matrix, thus being capable of improving a reception performance of the receive end.

A circuit board assembly is carried by the housing and has a drive circuit that has a current regulator. Abstract: A mobile communication terminal and method for proving a substitute image are provided, which automatically searches a substitute image suitable to a video call and transmits the substitute image to the opposite party. A user's image is automatically recorded during a video call, and tagged with information related to the time and situation of the recording, such as location information and time information. The tagged image is stored as a substitute image. When transmission of a substitute image is set while a video call is performed, a substitute image having situation information consistent with or similar to a corresponding situation is searched and then transmitted to the opposite party. Therefore, when a mobile communication terminal performs a video call in various situations, a substitute image suitable to a corresponding situation can be provided to an opposite terminal.

Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and a method for providing a concurrent data service to an Mobile Station (MS) through a plurality of heterogeneous networks. In a method for providing a data service to an MS through different wireless networks, the MS measures channel qualities of at least one accessible wireless network and reports the measured channel qualities to an Internet Protocol (IP) packet controller. The IP packet controller selects wireless networks for data transmission on the basis of the reported channel qualities, distributes data destined for the MS, and transmits the distributed data to the selected wireless networks. The selected wireless networks receive the data from the IP packet controller and transmits the received data to the MS. The MS combines and interprets the data received from the selected wireless networks. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a seamless data service to the MS in service environments with a mixture of different wireless communication systems.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of creating indexes so that an index scan can be worked for columns in a database encrypted by means of secrete key cipher algorithm. The method of creating indexes according to the present invention comprises the steps of: re-encrypting to be able to maintain the sort ordering based on a plain text; creating new indexes based on the re-encrypted data; and configuring domain index architecture of encrypted columns so that the created index is used for the index scan in a query statement.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for transmitting/receiving a neighbor base-station information message in a broadband wireless access system. A base station sets and transmits a neighbor base-station information message, which includes a specific flag field for limiting neighbor base-station information and a reserved field and omits iterative neighbor base-station information depending on a value set in the specific flag field, thereby increasing a transmission efficiency. A mobile terminal receives the neighbor base-station information message from the base station, checks the received message, and then updates an operator ID according to the value set in the specific flag field.

Abstract: Disclosed are a user input device and a method for rapidly selecting an operation mode in a mobile terminal having a touch screen input panel and a fingerprint recognition sensor. The user input method includes setting operation modes for at least one fingerprint data and input pattern, each comprised of keys necessary to implement a corresponding operation mode; detecting fingerprint data inputted from the fingerprint recognition sensor, and confirming an operation mode set for the inputted fingerprint data; and displaying an input pattern corresponding to the confirmed operation mode on the touch screen input panel.

Abstract: A personal roll bar device for protecting a user's head, neck and back provides, in the exemplary embodiment, an impact member positioned adjacent the user's back and removably engaged with the user proximal the user's waist, the impact member extending upwardly therefrom above the user's head. A stabilizing means is removably engaged with the user's upper body and slidably coupled with the impact member, and is configured for maintaining the impact member adjacent the user's back during use. Thus, in the event the user experiences a head-first fall while using the device, an upper end of the impact member substantially protects the user's head and neck from initial impact, with the resulting impact forces being distributed through the impact member and substantially absorbed by the user's waist, thereby reducing the risk of burst and compression fractures in the user's neck and back.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for simultaneously supporting Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) and beamforming in a wireless communication system are provided. In the method, two data streams are mapped to each of all of 2N transmission antennas; the two data streams are multiplied by different Cyclic Delay Diversity (CDD) phase sequences; the two data streams multiplied by the different CDD phase sequences for each transmission antenna are added; and the added data stream is multiplied by a beamforming coefficient and transmitted for each transmission antenna.
