Abstract: Imaging elements, such as photographic, electrostatographic and thermal imaging elements, are comprised of a support, an image-forming layer and an electrically-conductive layer comprising a dispersion of carbon nanofibers in a film-forming binder. Use of carbon nanofibers provides a controlled degree of electrical conductivity and beneficial chemical, physical and optical properties which adapt the electrically-conductive layer for such purposes as providing protection against static or serving as an electrode which takes part in an image-forming process.

Use of a sputter-deposited metal oxide provides a controlled degree of electrical conductivity and beneficial chemical, physical and optical properties which adapt the electrically-conductive layer for such purposes as providing protection against static or serving as an electrode which takes part in an image-forming process.

Abstract: An improved photographic element comprises a support bearing at least-one silver halide emulsion layer having associated therewith a hydrazide compound that functions as a scavenger for oxidized developing agent. The hydrazide compound comprises at least one polyhydroxy aromatic nucleus or a precursor thereof and at least one moiety containing an ##STR1## group which is bonded to a ring carbon atom of the polyhydroxy aromatic nucleus or precursor thereof through a linking group. The linking group can be an oxy, thio, sulfinyl, sulfonyl or alkylene group or it can be a carbonyl group when the polyhydroxy aromatic nucleus comprises at least three hydroxyl groups.
Abstract: Radiation-sensitive photographic plates are prepared by laminating to a rigid transparent plate support a photographic element comprised of a flexible photographic film support having a radiation-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer on one side thereof and a remoistenable adhesive layer on the opposite side thereof. The adhesive layer is non-tacky in the dry state but is reactivated by moistening so as to strongly bond the photographic element to the rigid transparent plate support.
Abstract: An imaging element for use in an electron-beam-recording process is comprised of a film support having, in order, on one side thereof a conductive layer comprising vanadium pentoxide, an adhesion-promoting hydrophilic colloid layer and an imaging layer. The imaging layer is comprised of an electron-beam-sensitive silver halide emulsion and the vanadium pentoxide is present in the conductive layer in an amount sufficient to impart thereto a resistivity of less than 5.times.10.sup.8 .OMEGA./sq.
