Abstract: The absorbent laminated sheet is composed of at least two plies (1.9), embossed, constituted essentially of cellulose fibers, bonded together at least partially by means of protruding elements relative to the surface of said plies and pointing inward to the sheet; it is characterized in that the protruding elements (101) are positioned essentially according to lines or combinations of lines reproducing spaced motifs (100), which recur indefinitely.Application as domestic or sanitary paper.

Abstract: Method for transforming a video type image having multiple levels of greys into a binary image, method wherein each pixel is either white or black. With each pixel of the initial image there is associated a partial image centered on said pixel and comprising a plurality of pixels in at least one dimension. If the histogram of the grey levels of said partial image is considered as bimodal (D>E), a threshold (S) median with respect to said histogram is selected. If the histogram is considered as monomodal (D<e), a threshold (S) outside said histogram is selected, the position of this threshold with respect to the histogram being determined by comparison of the latter with a preset mean background value (FM). Application to telecopy, electronic storage of documents and drawings, preprocessing in order to facilitate the reading of handwritten messages or recognition of patterns in general.

Abstract: Controlled release compositions are manufactured by subjecting cellulosic pulp rejects to a dewatering operation to remove approximately 25% of the water; flash-drying the obtained partially dewatered rejects, causing the rejects to expand and become porous; adding an additive material to impregnate the expanded and porous cellulosic material, and drying. The cellulosic material holds or retains the additive for delayed release. The compositions have good stability and structural integrity.

Abstract: Cathodically depositable electrodeposition paints contain binder combinations of cationic film-forming resins with organic titanium compounds which are obtained by reacting tetraalkyl orthotitanates or titanium acetyl acetonates with NH-functional .beta.-hydroxyalkylamine compounds, subsequently reacting with formaldehyde and with removal of the alcohol and/or acetyl acetone formed. The stoved paint films exhibit an excellent anti-corrosion effect on non-pretreated sheet steel.

Abstract: A measuring and dispensing apparatus molded in one piece for placement in a neck of a flexible wall container is provided. The apparatus has side walls with an opening, a base wall, an open top and an upstanding central member which contains a central bore and side or lateral discharge ports for directing the flow of liquid at an angle offset from the axis of the central upstanding member.

Abstract: A device for measuring the centering, parallelism, and perpendicularity of the side walls of a keyway to the centerline of the keyway in a shaft is described. The preferred embodiment of the device includes a micrometer slidingly attached to the device, a horizontal indicator dial slidingly attached to the device and connected to a horizontally extending probe which is positionable in a shaft keyway, a vertical indicator dial slidingly attached to the device and connected to a vertically extending probe positionable in a shaft keyway, and two stationary legs extending downward from the device for seating in a shaft keyway. In operation, the horizontal indicator dial and horizontal probe are utilized to check the centering and parallelism to the centerline of the keyway and the vertical indicator dial and vertical probe are utilized to check the perpendicularity of the keyway side walls to the centerline of the keyway.

Abstract: The invention relates to a clamping chuck. The clamping parts of the jaws are connected to support pieces sliding radially inside the body by means of bolts sliding axially inside these support pieces and provided with teeth.An axially sliding operating ring causes the jaws to clamp by acting on the support pieces by means of levers for example. The bolts are operated by actuating members.To avoid undesired clamping when the clamping parts are disassembled or adjusted, means lock the operating ring when an actuating member is in the position corresponding to retraction of the bolt, preferably before this retraction can be performed.

Abstract: A one-step method of preparing coated particulate plant nutrients wherein a polyfunctional coupling agent is applied to a mobile mass of plant nutrient particles containing functional groups which are chemically reactive with the functional groups of the coupling agent, while simultaneously applying a second reactive material containing functional groups also reactive with the functional groups of the coupling agent, maintaining the mobile mass at a temperature between 30.degree. C. and 300.degree. C. until a strong, water-insoluble particle. The product of the one-step method is a controlled-release plant nutrient having excellent attrition resistance.

Abstract: Preparation of pigment paste resins for cathodically depositable coating compositions based on epoxy resin-amine adducts obtained from unmodified or modified epoxy resins, which by partial or complete reaction of secondary amino groups with formaldehyde contain oxazolidine structures; whose tertiary amino groups introduced via primary-tertiary diamines are quaternized to at least 20 mol % using an organic acid and a monoglycidyl compound and which in a solution adjusted with water to a correct application viscosity contain a total of 80 to 100 millimoles of acid per 100 g of solid resin are described. The pigment pastes possess, both in concentrated and dilute form, a stability which meets practical requirements and, because of their rheology, are readily processed to ensure formation of defect-free films both during deposition and crosslinking by stoving. The applied films have good properties.

Abstract: A golf putter is disclosed for use with a stance wherein the natural body movement of the golfer is utilized in stroking or swinging the putter, eliminating the necessity of swinging the putter around the body while trying to keep the face of the putter moving in a straight line. The head of the putter includes a face having a width greater than its height, with the base of the face having a contour substantially across the width of the face. The shaft is positioned in the head at an angle to a vertical line extending through the center of a horizontal line extending across the face of the putter. The top of the putter provides a mask so that when the shaft of the putter is held in a substantially vertical position the putter, when viewed from the top, has the appearance of having a low point on the base of the face substantially in line with the shaft.

Abstract: A track wheel consisting of a longitudinal curved track mounted in an oval eometry on two support rollers. The track wheel is in effect an oval wheel with two axles. The axles of the two support rollers are mounted either directly or indirectly to the vehicle. The rollers support and guide both ends of the track in the small curvatures and transfers vehicle load to a surface at the lower curved part of the track. The track will withstand a high bending load in one direction, where it engages a surface, but it will also bend easily in the other direction, as it is guided over the two support rollers.

Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for making V-groove insulation is disclosed. More particularly, the device of the present invention relates to an endless track fabrication and cutting system whereby prefabricated, sectioned lengths of insulation material are formed into continuously grooved insulation sheets of readily variable dimensions. The system is automated.

Abstract: A lacrosse stick is described comprising a head which includes a retainer means having one or more prongs extending longitudinally from the head for attaching the head to a handle and a handle having one or more slots for receiving the retainer means whereby the retainer means connectively engages the slots to attach the head to the handle. Additional embodiments for attaching a head to a handle are also disclosed.
