Abstract: The present invention relates to an adhesive dressing 1, coated on one surface with a pressure-sensitive adhesive 3 and covered with a non-adhesive support 4. The dressing 1 is folded back on itself on the side of the protective support 4 along a transverse fold 5, to give two parts 1a and 1b. The protective support 4a of one of the two parts 1a is cut along a line 6 parallel to the fold 5. Area 7 of the support between the cut 6 and the fold 5 is provided with an adhesive 8 such that the said area 7 adheres more strongly to the corresponding area of the other part of the support 4b than to the plastic film 2. This invention facilitates application of the dressing to skin.

Abstract: Self-crosslinking paint binders, water-soluble upon protonation, containing biuret groups are described based on reaction products of blocked isocyanate groups containing aminoalkylation products of phenols with 0.1 to 1.0 moles, calculated on the hydrogen atoms at the urea groupings, of a semi-blocked diisocyanate. Optionally the phenolic hydroxy groups can be totally or partially reacted with epoxy compounds. The products are particularly suited for the formulation of high-grade, corrosion-resistant electrodeposition paints.

Abstract: An attrition-resistant, controlled release fertilizer comprising a water-soluble central mass containing nucleophilic reactive functional groups surrounded and chemically bonded to a base coating formed by reacting a molecular excess of a coupling agent with the nucleophilic groups of the central particles, and a water-insoluble layer, surrounding and chemically bonded with the base coating, formed by the reaction and polymerization of the excess functional groups of the coupling agent used in forming the base coating is described. A preparation method is provided.
Abstract: A direct reading book having a housing which will contain mounting means for a roll of printed web and a magnifying lens suitably carried above and in a constant predetermined position above the printed web is described. The printing on the print web is caused to move past the magnifying lens to permit the reader to read the printing on the web passing under the lens. The direct reader permits the replacement of a series of books, such as textbooks, with a series of printed webs, relieving the burden of carrying a large number of books.
Abstract: Self-crosslinking paint binders, particularly for the formulation of water-dilutable, cathodically depositable paints (CED-paints), are obtained through reaction of formaldehyde with the reaction product of aminoalkylation products of phenols carrying at least one NH-group and semi-blocked diisocyanates and their subsequent reaction with epoxy compounds. The binders, when cathodically deposited, cure rapidly at low stoving temperatures to provide hard, solvent-resistant coatings.
Abstract: The process applies to polymers obtained by a water-in-oil process, that is to say, a reverse emulsion process or a suspension process in reversible phase. The process of fixation of this type of polymer in or on a porous support is characterized in that it comprises the impregnation of the porous support with said reverse suspension or emulsion resulting from the polymerization reaction and the removal of solvent from the support. By said process, complexes are obtained which present improved absorption properties and offer a better holding of the product to the support.
Abstract: A fine aggregate is stored in a high storage silo and its surface water content is so controlled that its variation may be kept within .+-.1% by weight. The fine aggregate, cement and primary water containing an air entraining agent are mixed in an upper mixer (primary mixing) to prepare mortar. The mortar, a coarse aggregate and secondary water containing a water reducing agent are mixed in a lower mixer (secondary mixing) to produce mixed concrete.
Abstract: This invention involves a device forming a sanitary napkin. The device includes a preformed, usually biconcave fluid-absorbent pad component (2) defining a biconcave central area (8) of reduced width, entirely arranged inside a covering (10) which is permeable to said fluids, and a layer (16) made of a component impermeable to fluids which is inserted between the pad component (2) and said covering (10), characterized in that said covering (10) is designed with a width (L) larger than width (l) of said pad component (2) at the level of said biconcave reduced-width area (8), thus defining side wings or flaps (20, 22) that are sealed together. This device improves lateral tightness while providing excellent comfort.
Abstract: Cationic paint binders, particularly binders of the type used in cathodic electrodeposition coatings which crosslink through transesterification, transamidation, transurethanization, or through the reaction of chain end double bonds catalyzed with a condensation product of a dialkyltinoxide and a compound carrying at least one hydroxyl group are described. The hydroxyl compounds are the aliphatic alcohols, phenols, alkanolamines, or the reaction products of primary amines with monoepoxy compounds. The catalysts of the invention provide very good stability and good compatibility in aqueous cationic paint materials.
Abstract: Cationic paint binders, particularly binders of the type used in cathodic electrodeposition coatings which crosslink through transesterification, transamidation, transurethanization, or through the reaction of chain end double bonds catalyzed with a reaction product of lead(II) oxide with compounds carrying .beta.-hydroxyamino structure are described. The catalysts of the invention provide very good stability and good compatibility in aqueous cationic paint materials.
