Abstract: A camera dolly comprises a base and a plurality of legs extending radially outward from an inner end pivotally coupled on the base to an outer end supporting a wheel assembly thereon such that the wheel assemblies are arranged for rolling movement along a pair of rail members extending in a longitudinal direction. Each wheel assembly comprises a plurality of wheels spaced apart from one another in the longitudinal direction in two rows arranged to receive the respective rail member therebetween. Each wheel assembly is pivotal about an upright axis and a horizontal axis relative to the respective leg. A horizontal deck plate includes plural sets of mounting apertures therein corresponding to different relatively fixed relationships of the legs. • Patent number: 8205486
Abstract: An atmometer device comprises a porous evaporator member, a suction tube communicating water from a reservoir to the porous evaporator member, a sensor measuring a moisture characteristic of soil associated with a crop, a mechanism arranged for controllably varying a rate of evaporation of the water through the porous evaporator member responsive to the moisture characteristic measured by the sensor, and an indicator arranged to indicate water loss in the reservoir. By controlling rate of evaporation of the water through the porous evaporator member responsive to the measured moisture characteristic of the soil, the amount of water loss in the reservoir during the given time period more accurately reflects crop evapotranspiration.

  • Patent number: 8201780
Abstract: A garbage bag holder includes a base frame and a pair of side frames extending upwardly at spaced apart positions from the base frame to receive a paper bag or a plastic bag between the side frames. Depending frames are suspended from the top ends of the two side frames so as to be arranged to extend downwardly only partway into a paper bag so that the particular size of the frame is not required to be critically matched to the bags being used nor does the frame become soiled by the contents of the bag. Outward biasing force can be applied to the depending frames by the side frames along the full height of the depending frames to prevent any tearing at the top edges of a paper bag. Alternatively, a plastic bag can be held under tension between the top ends of the side frames.

  • Patent number: 8191873
Abstract: A suspension system suitable for a trailer incorporates a device for limiting rotation of an axle received in an eye of a leaf spring. The leaf spring has a wrapped end defining the eye extending transverse to the leaf spring with a gap left between the leaf spring and the wrapped end thereof. The rotation limiting device is fixed to the axle and features a sleeve having a peripheral wall extending circumferentially about the axle inside the eye of the leaf spring and a tab projecting outward from the peripheral wall of the sleeve and extending in a direction parallel to the axis. The tab projects into the gap left between the leaf spring and the wrapped end thereof to block rotation of the axle and sleeve relative to the wrapped end of the leaf spring. Friction fit, adhesive, welding or multi-piece hardware fixing of the spring is avoided.

  • Patent number: 8191336
Abstract: A fascia board support device features a rafter bracket having a side member for placement against one vertical side of the rafter, and a movable member pivotally coupled to the side member for movement into and out of a deployed position in which at least a portion of the movable member depends downward on an opposing side of the roof rafter. A clamping mechanism forces the depending portion against this opposing side of the roof rafter to clamp the device thereon, at which point a fascia board support projecting from the front end of the rafter bracket can seat a fascia board. After fastening of the fascia board to the rafter, the device is easily removed by releasing the clamp, flipping the movable member over to same side of the rafter as the side member and lowering the device to withdraw the support from beneath the fastened fascia board.

  • Patent number: 8187407
Abstract: A vehicle is wrapped by a printed adhesive film where the film is also applied over doors and other areas intended not to be covered. The film is cut at the door edge and over the area by adhesively attaching a tape having a release coating on the front surface and carrying a filament along a center of the front side. The printed film is applied over the door, the area not to be covered and the tapes and is cut along the door edge and around the area by pulling the filament from the tape so that a strip of the film at the door edge and the film over the area can be removed. The film can be stretched and pulled away from the tape for reapplying for proper fit.

  • Patent number: 8181719
Abstract: A downhole flow pulsing device comprises a housing connected in series with a drill string and a valve with a rotating portion in the housing arranged to vary an area of a flow passage through the housing. A fluid actuated positive displacement motor drives rotation of the valve. A drive link permits the rotating portion of the valve to be optionally coupled directly to the motor of the drill string. The valve includes radially oriented rotating ports intermittently communicating with surrounding fixed ports and a bypass channel. Axial displacement of the rotating ports relative to the fixed ports and bypass channel permits amplitude of the downstream fluid pulses to be adjusted. The valve includes a number of circumferentially spaced ports which differs from a prescribed number of pressure fluctuations in the fluid for each full rotation of the rotor of the drill motor.

  • Patent number: 8181602
Abstract: Bedding material for livestock is produced by extruding straw through a conventional cubing system rather than a conventional pellet mill. The cubing process generates friction in turn changing the properties of the straw making the straw particles highly absorbent. The cubing process allows for greater particle size in the finished product as compared to pellets produce in a conventional pellet mill. The process involves the following: shredding the straw to proper size, cubing the straw into cubes and flakes, cooling, storing and packaging. The cubing process requires 40% less energy based on throughput of finished product, thus making the material more affordable to larger farming operations. Some other properties include a higher bulk density than large conventional bales or wood shavings, less dust when applying, a pasteurized product, easier to handle and spread compared to straw bales, wood shavings and sawdust.

  • Patent number: 8162090
Abstract: A scooter has a platform on which a rider can stand, a front wheel attached to a steering system including an upstanding handle bar and rear wheel which is driven. The scooter can be folded at a hinge line across the platform so to allow it to collapse. A case for the scooter includes a front part and a rear part covering the front and rear wheels with the parts brought together by the collapsing of the platform. This folding action also uses a pivot link to move the front and rear wheels pivoted within the respective case parts to a folded position. The steering includes a headstock with the steering bar connected to the front fork by a drive coupling which converts the rotation of the steering bar about the generally vertical axis to the rotation of the fork about an inclined axis.

  • Patent number: 8161967
Abstract: A bougie device for guiding insertion of an endotracheal tube into an airway of a person, comprises an elongate body of shape memory and self-lubricating material, for example Teflon™. Accordingly no lubrication is required for insertion into the airway for ease of cleaning and sterilizing for reuse. Also, the amount of curvature of the overall rod as well as an angle of the tip of the rod can be adjusted due to the shape memory characteristics of the body to accommodate a particular patent's airway. The body can also be suitably sized to have vibration transmission characteristics such that a contact with one end of the bougie device with tracheal rings of the patient can be felt by a user.

  • Patent number: 8161719
Abstract: A crop header has generally horizontal flail disks mounted for driven rotation about generally upright axes. A pair of conditioner rolls is mounted in a discharge opening. A crop converging system includes two over-shot auger elements defined by a common auger shaft with an auger flight carried thereon arranged generally longitudinal of the cutter bar so as to carry the cut crop longitudinally of the cutter bar to the entrance opening. Each auger element is arranged with a forwardmost tangent to the auger flight located behind the axes of the rotary disks and with an outer end thereof spaced outwardly of the respective end of the entrance mouth. The common auger shaft is driven by a common rotary drive with the bottom roll of the conditioner rolls. The augers terminate inwardly of the outer end of the cutter bar to locate the drive inboard of the end plates.
