  • Patent number: 4598743
Abstract: In order to avoid overfilling of fuel to small internal combustion engines a nozzle is presented which automatically closes the flow when the tank is almost full. The nozzle is put on the fuel container which communicates with the surroundings by an air conduit through the nozzle, constituted of two sleeves, an outer one (13) and an inner one (14) and a bushing (11). The fuel passes the inner sleeve, whose outer end has a valve body (15). At rest the outer sleeve presses against the body and then the nozzle is closed. When the nozzle is put into a filling hole, the spring-biased outer sleeve is pushed back and allows the fuel to pass through the inner sleeve to the tank. When the fuel reaches the outer end of the nozzle the air inlet to the container is closed and the flow stops. When the nozzle is pulled out of the hole it is automatically reset into the rest position.

  • Patent number: 4597373
Abstract: A system for the automatic recommencing of the ignition function of an i.c. engine with a computer controlled ignition system. The system includes an oscillator which occasionally can stop working. An RC-circuit is charged by ignition pulses supplied by the micro-computer and is discharged by possible failure of these pulses. A sensing circuit influenced by the RC-circuit thereby supplies a reset pulse to the computer which then recommences the supply of ignition pulses.

  • Patent number: 4593796
Abstract: An automatic brake operating device to be used on a motor chain saw provided with a clutch drum around which there is a pretensioned brake band. By use of a spring and a toggle joint the band can be switched between a free position and a braking position. The toggle joint is operated between two corresponding positions by an inertia mass for releasing and a stirrup for resetting. The mass and the stirrup are individually movable and capable of triggering the brake independent of each other.

  • Patent number: 4576792
Abstract: In a chamber (24) in a pressure vessel, e.g. an autoclave (10), articles (26) are heat-treated by water, which is sprayed over the articles through nozzles (20) and supplies heat to or removes heat from the articles. Simultaneously, a gaseous medium, e.g. a mixture of steam and air, is forced by an impeller (34) to flow through the articles in countercurrent to the water. By this a very even temperature distribution of the articles in the chamber (24) is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4576188
Abstract: A roller for curling hair is comprised of a pair of tubular plastic members joined together at one end and having flanges at the other end thereof. The flanges have enlarged diameters and are partially separated from the respective tubular members by vents. A foam plastic sleeve is tightly fit on the outer surfaces of the tubular members between the flanges, without the use of adhesive. The foam sleeve may be formed by die cutting, and subsequent heat shrinking to reduce its wall thickness.

  • Patent number: 4573556
Abstract: Actuator for the release of automatic emergency brakes of hand-operated, powered tools, such as chain saws, having a driving shaft for the tool. Such emergency brakes are constituted of a brake mechanism released by means of stored energy. The actuator is constituted of a rotatable and balanced body with a small amount of friction on a shaft situated essentially parallel to the driving shaft. The actuator is fabricated of a permeable material, and has a mass having an essential inertia against rotation on the shaft. The actuator cooperates firstly with a magnet retaining the actuator with a predetermined magnetic force against rotation in an angular position of the actuator, and then with a sensor which is so arranged that an impulse for releasing the brake mechanism is given as soon as the actuator comes out of said angular position.

  • Patent number: 4573917
Abstract: A measuring device for use in model surgery in connection with the surgical treatment of the teeth and jaws, commonly referred to as orthognathic surgery. The trial surgery is performed on a plaster dental model which has been correctly mounted on a dental articulator, and in which the Frankfort Horizontal plane or axis orbital plane is utilized. In addition, a model block to which the dental model is affixed is placed on a model platform provided with a caliper, such as an electronic digital caliper, precisely mounted relative to the base of the platform so that measurements of the dental models are made which are free from error due to positioning relative to the base line, as well as due to parallax.

  • Patent number: 4570595
Abstract: A microcomputer is used in the invention for the control of the ignition function of an ignition system of an i.c. engine. The limitation of r.p.m. of the engine at high r.p.m. is brought about by an acurately developed procedure of delayed ignition in two steps. The control of ignition timing is carried out by counting timer pulses between reference points, whereby the number of pulses between such points constitutes an address of a position in the ROM of the computer, where a reference number of the ignition time is stored. In manufacturing of a great assortment of engines several demands for limitation of maximum r.p.m. can be fulfilled in that the microcomputer has a spacing for storing several characteristics. The selection of a particular characteristic for a sort of engine is made by establishing permanent connections (or disconnections) in separate inputs of the computer which reads the combination and choses the corresponding characteristic.

  • Patent number: 4568810
Abstract: A microwave oven with a microprocessor control which contains stored recipe information. The user enters food type, quantity to be cooked, and size or doneness desired. Data for cooking a large number of different foods may be stored. The specific food item to be cooked is user selected by touching and holding one of ten food category pads. Food items within the category selected then "scroll" through an alphanumeric display. The item shown in the display when the food pad is released is the one selected for cooking. Following food selection, the user is prompted, via the alphanumeric display, to enter such additional data as quantity, size and doneness desired.

  • Patent number: 4562811
Abstract: An electronic circuit device for ignition pulses for an i.c. engine having a two- or three pole magnetic system generating positive and negative pulses. One of the pulses is used for ignition energy and the other for power supply of electronic equipment. As a reference point for ignition advance calculation is the peak of said power supplying pulses used. An oscillator (36) supplies a pulse frequency many times higher than the r.p.m. of the engine. A peak detector (14) and said oscillator are connected to a pulse counter (39) which after a predetermined number of pulses from the reference point releases a trigger pulse for the ignition energy. A logic unit (12) sets the counter on the predetermined number in dependence of the r.p.m. of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4553517
Abstract: A microcomputer is used in the invention for control of the ignition functions of an ignition system of an i.c. engine. A switch (17) in an operating handle or the like is connected via a transistor to a digital input of the computer. This reads the status of the switch once every revolution of the engine and as long as the switch is closed the ignition is delayed at an r.p.m. above a predetermined, programmed value (e.g. 3000 r.p.m.) and the r.p.m. of the engine is restricted. When the engine shall work the switch is opened and the ignition is normal. The restriction is used at start in order to avoid speeding during the start procedure. As a complement to said switch a parallel switch (27) can be connected and operated by a brake device of the engine. During braking the r.p.m. of the engine is thereby restricted to the same value as the r.p.m. during the start.
