  • Patent number: 4527331
Abstract: An improved surgical suture remover is formed of a single elongated strip of resiliently flexible material having a bend substantially midway in its elongation to define first and second shanks respectively carrying a blade and a shearing portion at their corresponding ends. The blade includes a cutting section, and the shearing portion includes a cutting edge, and the blade and shearing portion are pivotally connected for movement of the cutting section and cutting edge toward and away from each other along a cutting plane to cooperatively sever a suture therebetween. An elongated suture gripping element unitarily depending from the shearing portion includes a contact area for suture gripping contact with the cutting section during an operating stroke or jaw closure of the instrument. In another embodiment there is a cutting blade and a shear blade forming a scissors, with each blade having an elongated raised rib, and an abutment shoulder.

  • Patent number: 4523534
Abstract: A rotating sewing machine hook (1) with a horizontal shaft in which the axis of the under thread bobbin (15) forms an angle (a>0) to the hook shaft in a horizontal plan, whereby the width of the bobbin can be increased without the use of thread guide plates, because the inclination of the bobbin in the bobbin holder (6) facilitate the passage of the upper thread around the bobbin holder.

  • Patent number: 4516696
Abstract: Automatic dispenser for a detergent in the form of a paste in a dish or laundry washing machine. The inventive device generally comprises a cartridge-container of common type and a feeding device comprising a motor driven piston rod and a piston. The assembly is positioned in a suitable location in the machine, for example in its door. To facilitate exchange of the cartridge, the piston rod is easily removable by means of a support wheel which can be swung out and which is kept in working position by a resilient latch. The quantity of the portion is controlled by a current pulse from the program control device of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4513579
Abstract: In a freezer with a chamber, in which refrigerated surfaces tend to collect frost, with a moisture absorbing regenerable filter in order to lower the relative humidity of the freezing chamber air and counteract forming of frost therein, the filter has had to be removed and regenerated outside the freezer. This can be avoided if the air of the freezing chamber is conducted through a first flow path having a motor driven fan and a filter and ambient air is conducted through the fan and the filter in a second flow path for regeneration of the filter. An arrangement for the purpose is characterized in that the filter is arranged in a first heat-insulated flow path, intended for freezing chamber air and containing a motor driven fan, that a second heat-insulated flow path, intended for ambient air, is connected to the first one before and after a part thereof containing the filter and the fan, and that valves are arranged for shifting of the flow paths.

  • Patent number: 4513678
Abstract: The cloth feeder of a sewing machine is formed of an elongated plate having rows of teeth extending parallel to the direction of feeding movement of the cloth feeder. The cloth feeder and stitcher plate have slot-and-pin guides arranged to guide the feeder for movement in the feeding direction.

  • Patent number: 4512273
Abstract: A feeding module in the base on an electronic mechanical sewing machine is driven by an input shaft having two cam surfaces, one of which is arranged to drive a guide element in an oscillating movement. A block journalled on a shaft secured to a slide is displaceable in the guide by a mechanical or computer controlled electrical setting device. The slide is journalled in the feeder and displaceable perpendicularly to the working surface of the feeder. Upon a displacement of the slide the block will move into a corresponding position in the guide thereby effecting an adjustment of the feeding. The other cam surface is arranged to act upon a link connected to the transferring device to the feeder and is coordinated with the cam surfaces to guide the feeder in rectangular movements.

  • Patent number: 4511117
Abstract: An activating apparatus or device, for example for a valve in a liquid conveying system operated by means of a vacuum. The activating apparatus comprises a normally latched or locked operating device which by means of a spring, or the like, is connected to a force accumulator. The force accumulator is moved by the influence of vacuum and thereby tightens the spring which, when a lock arm disengages from the operating device, is released so that the operating device is moved, and thereby opens the valve.

  • Patent number: 4506559
Abstract: The invention proposes to form the flanges (11,12) of a driving pulley as a part of the driving shaft (10), for example by moulding the shaft (10) and the flanges (11,12) so as to constitute one unit, the portions (18,19) of the driving pulley being attachable between the said flanges (11,12).

  • Patent number: 4506182
Abstract: A reluctance motor comprises a stator having two salient poles and a rotor also having two poles and being of soft magnetic material. The stator poles support windings which when current is being supplied generate a magnetic field which tends to set the rotor (16) in a stable position of equilibrium in which the rotor pole and the stator pole coincide. Either or both of the rotor poles and/or either or both of the stator poles are designed so as at high flux density to cause a constriction of the flux in a part of the cross section of the flux path to displace the position of equilibrium and when the flux density is moderate to distribute the flux generally uniformly over the said cross section.

  • Patent number: 4499630
Abstract: An adjustable knob assembly for operating a gas valve includes a rotatable knob affixable to the shaft of the gas valve and having a hub with an axially extending ridge. An annular pointer is angularly displaceably affixed to the hub and has opposed sets of adjacent grooves selectively alignable to engage the ridge on the hub, to permit angular displacement of the pointer with respect to the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4493439
Abstract: A collapsible dispensing container provided with a conical-shaped head portion having a central opening and a multi-laminate tubular body. One end of the tubular body is folded over and defines an annular space between the folded over part and the upstanding wall part of the tubular body. A disc-like barrier member is provided with a peripheral flange that is located in the annular space and heat sealed to adjacent parts of the tubular body. The tubular bodies are formed with a slight taper for nesting, resulting in ease of handling and shipping.

  • Patent number: 4491105
Abstract: The invention relates to limiting of the r.p.m. on start of a power tool. At the same time the throttle control is locked in a starting position by a retaining member, a circuit in the ignition system is switched in to prevent ignition at an r.p.m. higher than the switching r.p.m. of the centrifugal clutch. The tool thus remains at low speeds during starting.
