  • Patent number: 6012455
Abstract: The apparatus is configured to deliver breathable air under continuous positive air pressure to a person who requires such treatment. The apparatus includes a dentally stabilized platform and a nose mask, nose piece or nasal tubes resiliently mounted on the platform and urged toward nasal engagement and rhinal seal. In the case of configurations including nose masks and nose pieces, the force applied from the dentally stabilized platform is through a resilient connection. Various nose masks, nose piece and nostril engaging air tubes carrying nasal pads are disclosed. In each case, the resilient mounting on the dentally stabilized platform provides the necessary air seal. Air which is enhanced by medication or added oxygen may be supplied by the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5752510
Abstract: Apparatus for alleviating a variety of breathing disorders, having a moldable mouthpiece clamped between the upper and lower teeth of the user so that a bracket outwardly projects from between the lips of the user in cantilevered fashion. The mouthpiece maintains the lower jaw forward to alleviate snoring problems by maintaining the throat clear. A nasal air delivery device is supported on the bracket and includes a pair of breathable air conducting tubes which terminate immediately adjacent to the user's nostrils. A sealing device disposed between the bracket and the nose prevents breathable air leakage, and a chin support carried on the tubes cooperates with the mouthpiece to stabilize and retain the nasal air delivery device in position on the facial area of the user.

  • Patent number: 5748707
Abstract: The remote wireless speakerphone system comprises a base receiver for direct connection to telephone company lines to receive and transmit voice information over the lines. The base receiver has a speaker which has sufficient power to make voice information received on the telephone line audible in a room. The system also includes a transmitter unit sized to be carried on the person of the user. The transmitter unit includes a microphone positioned to take up the speaking voice of the user and a radiotransmitter which transmits this signal to the receiver. The receiver delivers this voice information to the telephone company line. In this way, the user is free of wires connecting him to the base unit and can conduct two-way conversation by listening to the speaker on the base unit and speaking into the microphone he carries.
