Abstract: An electrical safety socket in which there is no electrical contact between the socket and a plug inserted in the socket unless the plug is properly inserted in the socket, pushed in, and turned. The plug, once inserted in the socket, cannot be removed unless the reverse sequence of operations are performed. This precludes electrical contact if a child should insert a foreign metal object in the socket when the plug has been removed, or prevents the plug from being removed from the socket once inserted.

Abstract: A puzzle of the type having a plurality of rings and posts with an elongated, closed loop threaded therethrough, the object of the puzzle being to remove the loop by an elaborate and lengthy sequence of manipulation of the rings and the loop. In order to aid in the dexterity of the manipulation of the rings and loop, a substantially U-shaped handle is connected to one end of the loop for gripping by the thumb and fingers in spaced relation.

Abstract: A spring construction for use as an inner spring for a mattress or cushion. The spring is in the form of helical core including concave and convex side portions which when placed in adjacent rows overlap and intermesh to provide firm support for a body and aid in preventing sag and collapse of any individual spring.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for forming belt loops from fabric cut to the exact length of the finished loop. Single fabric plies are sequentially fed by pneumatic means into stationary alignment with a folder. While the alignment is maintained, the plies are transported through the folder where opposed longitudinal edges of the ply are overlapped to present one exposed edge to a sewing device. The exposed edge is positioned by its alignment to be completely covered by stitches to form the finished loop and to prevent unravelling of the exposed edge when the loop is attached to a garment.

Abstract: A closure lid for a home canning jar includes a cap member threadably engaging the neck of a canning jar. A flexible dome shaped body extends upwardly through the cap member. A mechanism is provided for forming an airtight seal between the cap and the body. A mechanism is provided for forming an airtight seal between the body and an upper edge of the neck of the jar.

Abstract: A support stand for supporting a portable belt sander in a stationary position so a workpiece can be brought into contact with the belt. The stand has a base mounting a pair of spaced blocks receiving the handle of the belt sander therebetween which is seated on the base. A switch lever is mounted on the rear of the blocks and spans the space therebetween for depressing the trigger of the sander mounted in the handle to operate the sander in its supported, stationary position on the stand.

The apparatus includes a coolant tank in the vehicle having a pump to pump coolant to a manifold upon demand from which it is sprayed onto the condenser. A float in the tank activates a switch to stop the pump motor when the coolant level in the tank reaches a predetermined level.

A strip of paper has reinforcing elements disposed thereon. A sheet of material to be punched is insertable into the opening. The top of the base has a plurality of apertures therein, wherein each aperture receives a punch element therein. A mechanism is provided for advancing the tape each time the punch element is depressed.

Abstract: A locking device is provided for use in preventing the unauthorized use of telephones of the type having a handset and a base wherein the calling element is contained on the inner surface of the headset. The device includes a fixed engaging element attached to a locking element by means of a strap which encircles the outer surface of the handset. An adjustable engaging element is further provided and is adjustably secured to the locking element. When the calling element is a rotary dial, the engaging elements engage the dial and prevent rotation thereof. When the calling element is a plurality of push buttons, the engaging elements engage a protective cover and prevent manipulation of the pushbutton.

Abstract: A reversible door pivot positionable on either side of a door jamb to permit a hung door to swing in either direction. The pivot includes a standing hinge member having an elongated shank inserted into the jamb and a head projecting exteriorly of the jamb into the door opening. A swinging hinge member fixed to the door has a depending pivot pin rotatably insertable into a central opening in the head of the standing hinge member. A support plate is placed within the jamb in contact with the shank of the standing hinge member.

Abstract: A hospital bed accessory for supporting a desk-like platform within reach of a patient, especially one who has to lie prone on the bed, so that he himself can reach it and read or write thereon, and move it out of the way, the accessory including a vertical main post clamped to the headboard of the bed, and a horizontal radial arm extending out from the main post over the bed. A depending second post is suspended from the outer end of the radial arm so as to bring the desk-like platform suspended from its lower end to convenient reach of the patient. Clips are provided on the desk-like platform for holding writing and reading materials thereon.
