  • Patent number: 7129460
Abstract: Electronic imaging apparatus includes a main mirror that rotates about two transverse axes to reflect light for an array of subimages through a lens to a correcting mirror that reflects the light to an image detector. The correcting mirror moves in translation and tilts to correct for loss of focus of the subimages. A method of generating high resolution images includes acquiring an array of subimages by moving the main mirror and correcting each subimage with the correcting mirror. A method of surveillance includes acquiring and storing an array of initial subimages, then acquiring new subimages, comparing the new subimages with the stored subimages, and storing changed subimages.

  • Patent number: 7064608
Abstract: A noiseless amplifier circuit has an amplifier, a first circuit that isolates amplifier generated noise and provides the desired gain, a second circuit that cancels the amplifier generated noise from the output signal from the amplifier, a closed loop feedback third circuit that modulates the input signal to the amplifier to compensate for amplifier generated noise, and first and second controls that keep phase and amplitude balanced at a combiner in the first and second circuits, respectively. An oscillator circuit and a mixer circuit incorporate the noiseless amplifier circuits.

  • Patent number: 7064729
Abstract: An omnidirectional dual band antenna system includes a radome and an antenna in the radome. The antenna has a linear array of lower frequency band driven elements, a linear array of higher frequency band driven elements and a linear array of parasitic elements, spaced in parallel planes with the array of higher frequency band driven elements in the middle. The parasitic elements couple to the higher frequency band driven elements and reshape the radiation pattern of the higher frequency band driven elements to correct for distortion caused by the lower frequency band driven elements.

  • Patent number: 6945191
Abstract: Garage and vehicle protector disclosed mounts on a garage and has an indicator positioned inward from the left side of the door opening to guide a driver to correctly align a vehicle laterally when entering or exiting the garage. The protector has an adjustable support that is adjusted such that the automobile mirror just touches the indicator when the vehicle is correctly aligned. One or more fuzzy balls or a feather preferably coated with a flourescent material is used as the indicator. The indicator and support are resilient to flex when contacted and return to the original position when the contact force is removed.

  • Patent number: 6941806
Abstract: Apparatus for detecting hazardous materials is mounted on an aircraft and has a sensor, a heading unit, a transceiver and a GPS unit. The sensor has an airfoil shaped probe and an electronics module. The probe has a positive airflow, enclosed sensing chamber with a hazardous material sensing element. The system for detecting hazardous materials includes aircraft with the hazardous material detecting apparatus and a ground network. The method for detecting hazardous materials includes the steps of providing aircraft with hazardous material sensing apparatus and a ground network, collecting hazardous material and atmospheric data with the sensing apparatus, transmitting the position, wind velocity and hazardous material data to the ground network, calculating distribution of hazardous materials in the atmosphere, generating a real-time map of distribution of hazardous materials and predicting dispersion of the hazardous materials in the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 6935741
Abstract: An eye shield and head gear assembly with an attachment device which includes a support arm having one end portion that fastens by a first fastening means to the underside of the visor of a head gear and the other end portion that fastens by a second fastening means to the back side of the eye shield to mount the eye shield on the head gear. The support arm pivots at the first fastener to enable the eye shield to be moved between a retracted position under the visor and an extended position to shield the eyes. The second fastening means is movable along the back side of the eye shield in one embodiment or the support arm is length adjustable in a second embodiment so that the eye shield does not extend beyond the front edge of the visor in the retracted position and to allow the head gear to be adjusted to different elevations on the head in the eye shielding position.

  • Patent number: 6931903
Abstract: Apparatus for roll forming shaped members from sheet material has a primary powered section that roll forms along a primary pass line and a secondary powered section. The secondary powered section is coupled to and powered by the primary powered section, and roll forms along a secondary pass line that is separate from the primary pass line. The secondary powered section is coupled to the primary powered section by a transmission that allows adjustment of the secondary pass line in translation in two directions and in rotation in two directions. The method of roll forming includes forming shaped members in sections with the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6885350
Abstract: A microstrip fed log periodic antenna has two spaced dipole strips mounted on a ground plane. Each dipole strip has a trunk with a base, tip and alternating arms extending perpendicular to the trunk. One dipole strip includes an integral transmission feed line that extends from the tip, along the trunk of the other dipole strip at constant distance and along the ground plane at a constant distance. The one piece dipole strip with the integral transmission feed line reduces passive intermodulation and simplifies manufacture.

  • Patent number: 6884109
Abstract: An electrical cord roll-up apparatus has a stationary assembly and a reel assembly that rotably mounts on the stationary assembly. The stationary assembly has a shaft, an insulator on the shaft, axially spaced rings on the insulator and a power input or output cord that connects to the rings. The reel assembly has a reel tube with side flanges on the ends and brush assemblies mounted on the tube in alignment with the rings. The brush assemblies have copper or brass brushes that are pressed against the rings by compression springs, and connectors for connecting to the wires of the electrical cord. Rotating the reel one direction winds the electrical cord onto the reel and rotating the reel in the opposite direction unwinds the electrical cord.

  • Patent number: 6854313
Abstract: Tube bending/crimping apparatus has a frame, a toggle assembly and a carriage assembly. The toggle assembly has overlapping male dies with tapering working tips that form a self-centering wedge. The carriage assembly has a shaft with a pinion that engages a rack on the frame to move the carriage assembly. A handle on the shaft is linked to the shaft by a cam clutch and a plunger, so that when the plunger is engaged, pushing the handle moves the carriage assembly forward. When the plunger is disengaged, the carriage assembly is easily moved back to the starting position. Mechanical stops for the handle assure consistent advancement. A receiving element on the carriage assembly has grooves for several sizes and orientations of tube.
