A tube (1) has at least one outlet (6) and at least one inlet (7) spaced along the wall thereof. Outlet (6) communicates with a connector (8), inlet (7) communicates with another connector (9). Connectors (8, 9) are provided in tube (1) at the end thereof projecting from blood vessel (4).
Abstract: Apparatus for selective destruction or inactivation of cells is disclosed wherein cells are arrayed in a plane for successive illumination, by optical X-Y scanning devices, with a first low powered light beam to produce in particular cells certain radiations responsive to the illumination. These response radiations are detected and used to enable a second higher powered light beam directed through substantially the same optical scanning paths, to destroy or inactivate the cells producing the response radiations. The illumination, response, detection, and high power radiation steps are accomplished by devices acting in times short as compared to the X-Y scanning devices so as to make the accurate treatment of each of large numbers of cells highly effective.
Abstract: A mounting adapted to be attached to an article includes a woven material with front and rear slides and made by warp and weft yarns, one of the warp yarns being a thermoplastic coating on a supporting yarn center operative to heat seal the mounting tape to the article, some of the warp yarns showing a 3/1 combination weave pattern with the weft yarns and the remainder of the warp yarns having a 1/1 and 2/2 combination basic weave pattern with weft yarns resulting in at least one of the warp yarns being disposed on a side of the woven material and exhibiting a color shade contrasting with the color of the rest of the tape.
Abstract: The device consists of a flowerpot (1), mounted on feet (8), intended to be placed in a horticulture tray, comprising a bottom (5) pierced with holes (7) and exhibiting parallel slots (6, 6a). It is made in one piece by molding from expanded polystyrene.
Abstract: Equipment for a holding serum container is disclosed as including a vertical stem having in its lower end a hook to hold a serum container, the stem being horizontally displaceable by means of a slider which travels within a rotatable tubular structure linked to a hanger to eventually rotate the equipment which may be fixed to a room or vehicle ceiling.
Abstract: A hydraulically operated handler for drums and the like is mounted on the boom of a tractor so as to be selectively pivoted from a vertical position to fifteen degrees past a horizontal position. Grappling arms are mounted on a front plate which is selectively rotatable through 360.degree. by a hydraulic motor. A spindle rotatably supporting the front plate contains hydraulic operating fluid passages which are coupled through a rotating coupling mechanism to hydraulic cylinders operating the grappling arms. The selective pivotal motion together with the ability to selectively rotate the grappling hooks 360.degree. enables effective gripping and handling of drums.
Abstract: An overhead suspended fan has a canopy with a top seal on a support shaft and a bottom seal which is mounted on a rim of a cup-shaped member supported above the motor housing bearing and which has an annular portion engaging the inside of the bottom portion of the canopy and an open shoulder upon which the bottom end of the canopy rests; an inner lip on the annular portion of the bottom seal defines a groove interlocking with the rim of the annular member. An outward and downward flaring skirt on the second seal forms a narrow restricted clearance with a frustoconical portion of the motor housing; a second cup-shaped member mounted on the top portion of the housing has a rim extending upward within a depending annulus of the second seal to prevent water flow to the housing bearing.
Abstract: A modular building structure is disclosed as including a plurality of tetrahedral cells selectively arranged to form multiple dwellings wherein each cell has six bars two of which are horizontally spaced transverse to each other and with the remaining four bars disposed diagonally to the two horizontally spaced bars.
Abstract: A slide fastener slider is disclosed as including spaced parallel wing members and a longitudinal axis therebetween, a pull-lug affixed to its top surface, a pull member operatively connected to said pull-lug for moving the slider relative to interlocking elements, with the pull member being movable parallel to the longitudinal axis, and ends on the pull-lug to exert a pulling force on the slider from below the top surface thereof.
Abstract: A modular installation of a plurality of air curtains is disclosed as including a cabinet for each air curtain housing a blower and motor and having opposed end panels with fastening means securing adjacent cabinets to each other whereby cabinets of the same or different lengthwise dimensions may be installed as a unitary device.
Abstract: A system and device for enabling the control of time intervals between billets in rolling mills of blocks or billets and/or similar equipments that allow such control is implemented using sensor controlled electronic circuits. The control system relies on a signal indicator which indicates to a mill operator the proper moment at which a billet has to be introduced in the first stand of the rolling mill. By observing a preset time interval and a real time interval indicator between billets, an effective time interval control technique for establishing an ideal spacing between billets minimizes the spacing gap guaranteeing, among other benefits, a significative increase in rolling mill productivity.
Abstract: Carbohydrate or material containing carbohydrate such as cereal, corn, rice, sorghum, potato and the like including Biomass and other sources of cellulose or non-fermentable sugars, is mixed with water and heated in the presence of a surfactant, typically a non-ionic detergent. The process may avoid the need for a subsequent pressure cooking step prior to fermentation to yield alcohol.

Abstract: A backstop frame for intercepting projectiles is disclosed as including a holding plate having a series of parallel slots in which a series of lamellas are mounted, fasteners, secured the plate to a supporting structure and connectors join the lamellas to the plate.
Abstract: A locking slider assembly is shown for use with a slide fastener having separable fastener elements having a slider body, upper and lower spaced parallel wings joined at their front ends on the body. A pair of upstanding body tabs are upstruck from the upper wing which also has a front and rear opening therethrough. A leaf spring has a down turned nose terminating in a downwardly bent spring prong for engaging the fastener elements of the slide fastener. A spring means extends off the leaf spring rearwardly of the down turned nose and passes into the forward openings of the upper wing and is positioned to be engaged by the upstanding body tabs on the upper wing. A spring biasing extension is in engagement with the upper wing to impart spring loading to the spring prong to assure engagement with the fastener elements.
Abstract: A device for the testing of air leaks in a vehicle rim or the like includes a water tank having a predetermined volume of water in the bottom thereof, a mounting and bearings for holding the rim and permitting it to be rotated, a pair of separated pressure chambers sealed by sealing rings and communicating with a manometer which has a discharge valve mounted outside the tank, and a feeder extractor carried by the mounting for manipulation of the rim into and out of the water so as to be checked for air leaks.
Abstract: A safety attachment for a ladder is disclosed as including an extruded channel fixed to the top of the ladder with a screw shaft having left and right hand threads disposed in the channel, pole engaging arms extend from guides mounted on the shaft threads for movement of the arm to engage and disengage relative to the pole. A pulley fixed to the shaft rotates the same by means of a rope having ends extending toward the bottom of the ladder whereby the pulley may be operated either at the top or the bottom of the ladder.
Abstract: Scraping device for removing excess subgrade material from the surface of a subgrade to level the subgrade, which includes a lower wall, side walls, a rear wall and an optional top wall defining a container for collecting removed excess subgrade material, and attachment means so the device may be lifted and transported by a fork lift truck or the bucket of an earth moving vehicle for emptying; advantageously the apparatus is formed in sections which can be disassembled and stacked one within another.
