  • Patent number: 4925600
Abstract: Particulate ammonium nitrate for use as an oxidizer in solid propellants or xplosives is, according to a first alternative, produced in that a solid mixture of ammonium nitrate with phase stabilizers, e.g. metal oxides is melted in several small batches housed in spatially separate manner and reactively reacted, the melts of the individual batches are successively atomized by drawing off and the mixture is supplied cyclically to all the batches, the melt particles being solidified in a cooling gas sinking stream. According to another alternative, initially a phase-stabilizing additive in the form of a metalamine complex is reacted in the aqueous phase from metal nitrate and ammonia, dried and mixed with solid ammonium nitrate, the mixture is melted and then atomized by drawing off. In addition, both processes can be combined.

  • Patent number: 4925318
Abstract: A packing comprising first and second opposed surfaces in a closure area of the packing has profiled portions secured to and extending over each of the opposed surfaces, which profiled portions are adapted to be releasably interengaged to permit connection and disconnection of the opposed surfaces. The profiled portions are each formed integrally with an outer layer of a strip material secured to the associated one of the opposed surfaces. The outer layer of the strip material is formed of a material well suited for forming a peel seal weld with the other opposed surface of the packing, such as a portion of the outer layer of the opposing strip material. The outer layer of each strip material is secured to the one of the first and second opposed surfaces via a base layer of the strip material to which the outer layer is secured by means of a non-peel seal type connection. As a result, the sheet material of the packing, a bag for example, need not be formed of a peel seal weldable material.

  • Patent number: 4924329
Abstract: The present invention relates to a magnetic recording and reproducing device wherein reproduction monitoring can be made directly after recording, and more particularly to a construction of a rotary drum for the same. The magnetic recording and reproducing device includes a single recording channel for n recording magnetic heads, and n reproducing channels for n reproducing magnetic heads. The recording channel is provided either on an innermost circumference side or on an outermost circumference side of a rotary transformer. Since the device has such a reduced number of recording channels, the distance between adjacent channels can be increased and the transmission loss of a reproduction signal can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 4923658
Abstract: A process for the production of homogeneous flat articles of thermoplastic synthetic resins wherein a starting mixture based on thermoplastic synthetic resins is processed into agglomerate or granulated material by a thermal pretreatment above the softening temperature and subsequently, optionally after additional intermediate steps, is mechanically comminuted to a mixture of particles having a random grain size distribution. The mixture of particles is piled continuously onto a conveyor belt to form a uniform layer and is sintered, under the action of heat up to the plasticization of the thermoplastic synthetic resin, into a coherent flat articles and is then press-molded under the effect of pressure and heat.

  • Patent number: 4924377
Abstract: Address calculation adders and a buffer storages are each independently provided for each operand of an instruction requiring two or more operands. In the translation instruction processing, the address calculations and operand fetch operations on the first and second operands are substantially asynchronously conducted. Consequently, the overhead that takes place one every n second operand fetch operations can be removed by independently and asynchronously performing the address calculations and operand fetch operations by use of a plurality of address adders. Moreover, the circuit for separating and obtaining a byte from the operand buffer can be dispensed with by adopting an operation procedure in which a byte of the first operand is fetched and is stored in temporary store means that supplies the address adder the data stored therein.

  • Patent number: 4923765
Abstract: A magneto-optical recording medium made of a rare-earth-transition metal amorphous film provides a compensation temperature Tcomp of 50.degree.-200.degree. C. or 0.degree. C. or less. This compensation temperature decreases a saturation magnetization Ms during recording, thereby preventing the provision of inverted magnetic domains at the centers of recording domains resulting from the demagnetizing field generated by the strength distribution of laser light, and so improving a carrier-to-noise ratio during reading. In the case of using a Tb-Fe-Co system amorphous film, Tcomp of 50.degree.-200.degree. C. may be give by the composition comprising Tb of 24-30 atomic %, Co of 7-20 atomic % and Fe of the rest, and Tcomp of 0.degree. C. or less may be given by the composition comprising Tb of 18-21.5 atomic %, Co of 8-10 atomic % and Fe of the rest.

  • Patent number: 4922869
Abstract: A torque controlling apparatus for an internal combustion engine comprises an electric machinery for absorbing torque from the internal combustion engine and/or for imparting torque to the internal combustion engine; a memory unit for storing, in advance, waveform characteristics of torque deviation generated by the engine in the respective operative conditions of the engine; a detector for detecting an operative condition of the engine; and a control unit. The control unit reads out the waveform characteristics of torque deviation, from the memory unit, corresponding to the detected operative conditions of the engine detected by the detector. The control unit controls the electric machinery to generate countertorque on the basis of the read-out waveform characteristics to cancel the torque deviation.

  • Patent number: 4923829
Abstract: Composite ceramic materials and a method of the same are disclosed, in which a ceramic material mainly containing silicon nitride, and at least one compound selected from a group consisting of nitrides, carbides, borides, silicides, oxides and oxynitrides of elements belonging to IIIa, IIIb, IVa, IBb, Va, VIa and VIII are combined to form a sintered body, and particles and whiskers of the ceramic material and compound are interlocked with each other and fixed so that the sintered body has a porosity of 5 to 30%. In the above composite ceramics, the particle of the compound are coupled with each other through the whisker or particle of the ceramic material. Accordingly, the composite ceramics are small in charge rate of size due to sintering, and are excellent in tenacity, heat resisting property and thermal shock resisting property. Further, the resistivity of the sintered body can be varied by changing the mixture ratio of ceramic material and compound.

  • Patent number: 4924373
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for controlling switching elements (51-56) of a PWM-controlled value type inverter by a software program using a microcomputer (10). The control apparatus of the present invention produces a switching element control signal (an on/off signal) according to the following steps. When a control command value commanding the output of the inverter is determined, a control mode corresponding to the commanded output value is selected from among a plurality of control modes (M1-M6) previously contained in a table to determine the switching elements to which the control signal is applied and the order of controlling the switching elements. Further, on the basis of the control command value, the difference between a modulation signal and a predetermined reference value is computed for each phase to determine the timing of controlling the switching elements.

  • Patent number: 4924432
Abstract: The dot data to be displayed is divided and stored in an even address graphic memory and an odd address graphic memory. When data to be revised (refreshed) bridges over adjacent word units having different addresses, the CPU generates the word address of the odd address graphic memory and new dot data to be displayed. A peripheral control circuit generates the word address signal and an address signal of the adjacent address of the even address graphic memory so as to revise the dot data which bridges over two word addresses. In this way, the dot data which bridges over two addresses can be revised by only one access operation to the memory.

  • Patent number: 4922857
Abstract: Dry feeding of minks if usually effected by means of self feeding dispensers, from which the animals may eat freely and as desired. In connection with the invention it has been found that the animals thrive considerably better if they are feeded by measured small fodder portions some 6-8 times per 24 hours and noticeably mostly during the evening and night hours. For avoiding costs of manual attendence during these hours an associated automatic feeding system is used, comprising automatically operated dispensers in the single cages.
