Abstract: A DC current is supplied to the write coil of a GMR head 1 equipped with a completed HGA (Head Gimbal Assembly). The element part of the GMR head 1 is thereby thermally deformed. Thus deformed, the element part protrudes, abutting on a rotating laser-bump disk 2, above which the HGA is floating. When the element part abuts on the disk 2, a magnetic field (2470 gauss) that extends in a direction opposite to the magnetization direction of the fixed layer of the GMR head 1 is applied to the top of a core slider 5.
Abstract: The sample temperature regulator is provided with a heating block (3) having a sample container holder (6) and a temperature-controllable heater (7) and with a cooling block (4) having a cooling mechanism (11). These two blocks are combined with each other through a connecting plate (15) made of a material having a thermal conductivity lower than those of these blocks. This constitution can reduce heat transfer between the heating block and the cooling block and allows them to have wide temperature regulating ranges, as well as increased heating capacity and cooling capacity, respectively. Further, this constitution makes the structure of the temperature regulator simple and compact, so that the regulator has increased durability and can be offered at a low price.
Abstract: The present invention provides an antenna duplexer comprising a package having a plurality of ceramic layers superposed, and a transmitting filter and a receiving filter which are mounted on a surface of the package. A phase-matching strip line is formed on a surface of one ceramic layer. The package has grounding layers formed respectively on surfaces of upper and lower ceramic layers with the phase-matching strip line interposed therebetween. A plurality of via holes are formed around the phase-matching strip line for connecting the two grounding layers to each other.
Abstract: A cooling space in an inverter case is disposed at a position opposed to a stationary scroll of a scroll compressor. A refrigerant having low temperature is allowed to flow in and out between the cooling space and the stationary scroll through a seal, thereby cooling an inverter.

The drive mechanism comprises a sheave 42 disposed inside the path, ropes 3 extending along a route around the sheave 42, and a drive device 5 in engagement with the ropes 3. The drive device 5 comprises a belt transmission provided alongside the ropes 3 and revolvingly movable along the rope extension route, a mechanism for pressing a belt surface of the belt transmission into contact with the ropes 3, and a drive motor for driving the belt transmission. The cage can be driven upward or downward without using any traction sheave, while the cage can be reduced in weight.
Abstract: There is provided a stereoscopic video display that enables a viewer to recognize a more real stereoscopic video. A light source device 2 comprises a backlight 21 and a pinhole array plate 22. A liquid crystal display panel driver 5 feeds a pixel driving signal to a liquid crystal display panel 3, to form a pixel region 3a composed of a plurality of pixels respectively corresponding to pinholes 22a. Each of the pixels composing the pixel region 3a controls an amount of light transmission with respect to a light beam in each direction from the corresponding pinhole 22a. Consequently, the intensity of the light beam in each direction is reproduced. Lines respectively connecting the centers of the pinholes 22a and the centers of the pixel regions 3a are not parallel to one another, and are so set as to cross at one point of a position corresponding to the standard distance between the video display panel 3 and a viewer Z.
