  • Patent number: 7168793
Abstract: A multi-nozzle ink jet head having a diaphragm that effectively utilizes the force generated by thin-film piezoelectric elements is disclosed. The head (2) has a head substrate (28) in which are formed a plurality of nozzles (39) and a plurality of pressure chambers (29), a multi-layer diaphragm (23-1, 23-2), piezoelectric elements (27), and individual electrodes (26). By making the thickness of the common electrode layer (23-1) of the multi-layer diaphragm be thin but such that problems do not occur during multi-pin driving, optimization of the rigid layer becomes possible, and hence it is possible to use the force generated by the thin-film piezoelectric elements efficiently in ink ejection.

  • Patent number: 7167301
Abstract: An active layer contains quantum structures. The active layer amplifies light propagating therein while current is injected therein. Electrodes are provided for sections of the active layer sectionalized along a light propagation direction. The electrodes inject different currents into the sections. Current is supplied to the electrodes in such a manner that a first current density is set to one section of the active layer and a second current density is set to another section. The first current density is lower than that at a cross point and the second current density is higher than that at the cross point. The cross point is a cross point between gain coefficient curves at least two different transition wavelengths of the quantum structures. The curves are drawn in a graph showing a relation between a density of current injected into the active layer and a gain coefficient of the active layer.

  • Patent number: 7167795
Abstract: A number of traveling routes are determined by computations, using a route processor and map information on the basis of current position information and destination information. The rating of the current traffic jam or the predicted traffic jam on each of the traveling routes is recognized based on a traffic jam prediction table and a calendar table obtained by statistically processing VICS data and past traffic conditions in terms of temporal elements. The number of traveling routes to which candidate traveling routes are narrowed is increased as the traffic jam rating is raised. Thus, the number of candidate traveling routes from which a user can select the actual traveling route is increased as the traffic jam rating rises in order to accommodate a situation where secondary traffic jams can take place on any candidate traveling route, thereby providing the user with useful traveling route information and appropriate guidance.

  • Patent number: 7163104
Abstract: A tray for a semiconductor device and the semiconductor device are disclosed in which the resist of the semiconductor is not easily separated from the substrate. A tray for semiconductor device has a support section formed as a pocket for carrying the semiconductor device, a pair of first protrusions formed on the opposite sides of the support section, and a pair of second protrusions formed on the opposite sides of the tray on the surface side reverse to the surface side where the support section are provided. The second protrusions are arranged in spaced relation to and in the same direction as the first protrusions. The interval between the first protrusions is larger than the interval between the second protrusions, so that in the case where the tray receives a shock, the semiconductor device comes into contact with the second protrusions earlier than with the first protrusions, thereby making it difficult for the resist of the semiconductor device to come off.

  • Patent number: 7159984
Abstract: Disclosed is a subjective optometric apparatus in which the earpiece members and the nose pad member for attaching the main body of the device to the subject can be easily adjusted without involving any effort. The subjective optometric apparatus has a horizontal frame and an inner tube inserted into the horizontal frame, with a support bar for supporting a nose pad member being passed through the horizontal frame and the inner tube. In a state in which the inner tube is being biased by a spring, a rubber member provided in a through-hole of the inner tube abuts the peripheral surface of the support bar to lock the support bar, thereby bringing the nose pad member into a locked state. Further, when a push-button is pushed in against the biasing force of the spring, the inner tube is displaced and the rubber member is detached from the peripheral surface of the support bar, with the result that the nose pad member is released from the locked state and becomes capable of being displaced.
