Abstract: The invention provides a reamer apparatus for a ground boring machine that is capable of restricting increase in drawing resistance when performing drawing of a buried pipe by using a reamer and of efficiently performing drawing operations of the buried pipe without degrading properties such as flexibility and rotatability. The reamer apparatus includes a reamer main body of substantially hollow conical shape that reduces in diameter towards a drawing side, and a rod connecting portion that provided at a narrow diameter end portion of the reamer main body and connected with a rod. The reamer main body is connected to a buried pipe through a coupling structure disposed on an opposite side to the rod connecting portion. The coupling structure has a Swivel joint that allows rotation of the reamer main body with respect to the buried pipe, wherein a main portion of the Swivel joint is substantially accumulated in the reamer main body.
Abstract: A manufacturing method for a buried insulating layer-type semiconductor silicon carbide substrate comprises the step of placing an SOI substrate 100, which has a surface silicon layer 130 of a predetermined thickness and a buried insulator 120, in a heating furnace 200 and of increasing the temperature of the atmosphere within heating furnace 200 while supplying a mixed gas (G1+G2) of a hydrogen gas G1 and of a hydrocarbon gas G2 into heating furnace 200, thereby, of metamorphosing surface silicon layer 130 of SOI substrate 100 into a single crystal silicon carbide thin film 140.
Abstract: A solid electrolytic capacitor using a conductive polymer compound as a solid electrolyte includes an anode body, a dielectric oxide coating formed on a surface of the anode body, a sulfone group-containing silanol derivative layer formed on at least a portion of the dielectric oxide coating by a coupling reaction, and a conductive polymer compound layer formed at least on the sulfone group-containing silanol derivative layer. With this, a solid electrolytic capacitor having a low ESR and a high capacitance and a method of manufacturing the solid electrolytic capacitor can be provided.
Abstract: An axle assembly for an in-line skate for retaining a wheel and a pair of bearings in a chassis of the in-line skate. The axle assembly has an elongated spacer hub, for supporting a bearing at each end portion thereof; an elongated male coupler, for bearing on a first side wall of the in-line skate chassis; and an elongated female coupler, for bearing on an opposing second side wall of the in-line skate chassis. The male and female couplers are insertable inwardly through axle bores of the chassis then through opposite ends of the spacer hub to obtain an assembled condition in which the wheel and pair of bearings are retained in the chassis. The male and female couplers are provided with means for interlocking with each other when in the assembled condition, to prevent outwardly movement of the couplers.
Abstract: An acceleration sensor, for detecting the acceleration of a motion made by a head actuator that includes a carriage which is borne on a base of a disk drive so that it can pivot and a head suspension fixed to the distal part of the carriage, is formed using at least one shearing piezoelectric element having an electrode formed on both sides thereof. One of the electrodes is attached to the distal part of the carriage with a suspension base between them, while the other electrode is attached to the proximal part of the head suspension with a head mounting block between them. The shearing piezoelectric element is realized with one shearing piezoelectric element that is polarized in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal directions of the carriage. Consequently, a large output is produced with only a small weight added to the carriage of the disk drive.
Abstract: A process for assembling a connector is provided, by which the production efficiency can be improved by preventing the problem of insertion error from occurring in a step of terminal insertion into a connector housing in the manufacturing process of the wiring harness by using an automatic assembly machine or in a step of the operation by the human hands. The process includes the steps of: provisionally locking the spacer in the connector housing; inserting ajig rod into the connector housing before inserting the terminal into the connector housing, the jig rod being for releasing the locking of the spacer which is completely locked in the connector housing; pulling the jig rod out from the connector housing; and inserting the terminal into the connector housing.
Abstract: An array antenna system comprises an array antenna unit including multiple antenna elements and multiple phase shifters for setting weighting coefficients of the associated antenna elements; and a weight controller that generates and outputs a control signal for adjusting the weighting coefficient for each of the antenna elements, using a known signal received at each of the antenna elements. The weight controller has a channel impulse response estimation unit that estimates a channel impulse response for each of the antenna elements based on a linear combination of a first received signal obtained from the known signal when a first set of weighting coefficients is set for the antenna elements and a second received signal obtained from the known signal when a second set of weighting coefficients is set for the antenna elements; and an output unit that outputs the control signal based on the estimated channel impulse responses.
Abstract: A “sod saver” tool for digging to acquire an object buried in the ground, and a non-metallic scraping tool utilized when carefully examining the soil. The sod saver tool includes a main cylindrical body rotated about its longitudinal axis for digging a substantially cylindrical plug of soil from the ground, the object being contained in the plug of soil, and a plurality of circumferentially-disposed resilient non-metallic fingers located at a bottom portion of the main cylindrical body. When the digging of the plug is being performed, the resilient fingers tend to spread radially outward from the longitudinal axis of the main cylindrical body, being deflected away from directly hitting and scratching the buried object, tend to generally direct the soil upwardly into the main cylindrical body, and tend to cause the plug to be substantially-compacted and cylindrical. The compacted plug may be easily reinserted into a hole in the ground.
Abstract: In a semiconductor device, a plurality of wiring layers each patterned in a required shape are laminated over both surfaces of an insulating base material with insulating layers interposed therebetween, and electrically connected to one another through via holes piercing the insulating layers in the direction of thickness. A chip is mounted in an embedded manner in one insulating layer over at least one surface of the insulating base material. Electrodes of the chip are connected to one wiring layer. Through holes are formed in portions of the insulating base material, the portions corresponding to a mount area for the chip. Via holes are formed on outwardly extending portions (pad portions) of the wiring layer connected to a conductor layer formed at least on the inner walls of the through holes.
Abstract: An optical time-division multiplex signal processing apparatus includes an optical dispersion part providing optical dispersion to an optical time-division multiplex signal and an optical clock signal, an optical detector coupled optically to the optical dispersion part for detecting a beat signal formed between the optical time-division multiplex signal and the clock signal in a superposed state, and a filter connected to an output terminal of the optical detector for filtering out an electric signal of a desired frequency band from an output electric signal of said optical detector.
Abstract: A circuit board is mounted in a cabinet in which a disk is housed. A treatment for preliminarily releasing ammonia possibly causing fogging of the disk from the circuit board is performed by allowing the circuit board to stand at 70° C. outside the cabinet for 24 hours before the circuit board is mounted in the cabinet.
Abstract: A carrier for carrying an osmium oxide comprising an aromatic polyolefin polymer having a group shown by the general formula [1] as a substituent on the aromatic ring of said polyolefin polymer: —A?—O(—A—O)n—R[1] (wherein A is an alkylene group; A? is a direct link or an alkylene group; R is an aryl group; and n is an integer of 1 to 10), an osmium oxide carried by the carrier for carrying an osmium oxide and a method for producing the osmium oxide carried by said carrier are disclosed. Since the osmium oxide carried by the carrier of the present invention has a hydrophilic group, in an oxidation reaction and an asymmetric oxidation reaction, particularly in a heterogeneous solvent system, the osmium oxide carried by the carrier of the present invention enables to produce a diol compound easily and in a high optical yield.
Abstract: The invention provides a process for fabricating a coil device which process comprises the steps of making an air-core coil 4 and fitting the air-core coil 4 around a core 1. The first step makes an air-core coil 4 comprising a plurality of unit coil portions 41, 42 arranged axially of the coil and each having one or a plurality of turns of conductor, each pair of unit coil portions adjacent to each other axially of the coil being different from each other in inner peripheral length. The fitting step fits the air-core coil 4 around the core 1 while at least partly forcing the unit coil portions 42 of small inner peripheral length inwardly of the unit coil portions 41 of great inner peripheral length by compressing the coil 4 axially thereof. The process realizes a high space factor without using a rectangular or trapezoidal conductor, and can be automated.
Abstract: In a cellular phone, a first cabinet and a second cabinet are foldably connected by a hinge, and the two cabinets are electrically connected by a connection member arranged inside the hinge portion. The hinge portion is constituted by putting together a first fitting portion provided at a first inner case, and a second fitting portion provided at a second inner case. A cut-out for inserting the connection member is provided between the two fitting portions. The cut-out is covered by a first tongue piece that is attached to the first fitting portion, and a second tongue piece that is attached to a second outer cover.
