  • Patent number: 4675914
Abstract: There is provided various embodiments of a gripping glove having a plurality of spring members which are positionable to impose a selective gripping force to the fingers of a user to improve the user's grip. The gripping glove utilizes U-shaped springs which in one embodiment are sewn into the glove overlying each of the user's fingers to provide an improved gripping force. In another embodiment, the U-shaped springs are incorporated in a pocket which is affixed to the back of a glove. In a third embodiment, the U-shaped grip enhancing springs are incorporated in a pocket having a releasable fastening surface, such as Velcro, to enable springs of different force to be readily interchangeably used and removed from the glove.

  • Patent number: 4626051
Abstract: A universal ground clamp having a clamping strap formed of a corrosive-resisting copper or copper alloy having a series of uniformly sized and spaced apertures to facilitate the installation of the clamp onto a wide range of pipe, rod or conduit diameters. A brass stud, through which the clamping strap is secured, includes a terminal portion adapted to accommodate and have secured therein a terminated ground wire. A pair of curved plates supported upon the stud are used to form a tight clamping action of the copper strap about the pipe, rod or conduit to be grounded, without subjecting the strap to localized stresses or tearing, but permitting the strap to tightly encircle the pipe, rod or conduit and to be folded upon itself in a convergingly parallel manner.

  • Patent number: 4611948
Abstract: A boat trailer having at least one pivotally mounted crossbar member facilitating loading and unloading a trailer and assuring efficient support of a boat loaded thereon. The crossbar member of the invention is provided with a dropped or curved configuration which supports the hull of a boat at a lowermost position for stability and for effective loading and unloading. The pivotal mounting and curved form of the crossbar member not only maintains the keel or hull as low as possible but naturally permits the hull contacting elements to tilt inwardly without the need for any particular tilting capability. The crossbar member is supported on the trailer booms by an improved bracket having the capability of effectively supporting the crossbar member for pivotal movement.

  • Patent number: 4592694
Abstract: A boat trailer which is characterized by laterally spaced longitudinally extending booms or side frame members and cross members which are supported from the side frame members at their ends on axially aligned pivots. The cross members laterally space the booms and have provision for selectively mounting thereon either pairs of transversely spaced longitudinally extending bars which carry assemblies of boat hull engaging members mounted thereon so as to pivot on longitudinally extending axes, or vertically extendable posts with the longitudinal bars and associated boat hull engaging members mounted thereon in elevated relation above the side frame members. The boat trailer eliminates the necessity of rigid cross frame members structurally interconnecting the side frame members, or booms, and enables the trailer structure to be readily adapted to carry either shallow draft, shoal draft, or deep keel boats having various hull configurations.

  • Patent number: 4552031
Abstract: A transmission shifting apparatus for controlling the speed and direction of movement of a vehicle. The transmission shifting apparatus utilizes an operating shift lever movable in a first direction through a plurality of successive positions in each of which it controls the forward movement of the vehicle at a predetermined speed, and a second opposed direction through a plurality of successive positions in each of which it controls the reverse travel of the vehicle at predetermined speeds. The shift lever is movable in a transverse direction between the first and second paths of movement to define a neutral or idle position in which no motion is imparted to the vehicle through the transmission. Movement of the transmission shift lever through the neutral position effects engagement of limit stops to retain the shift lever in the idle or neutral position.

  • Patent number: 4534200
Abstract: The apparatus for mounting a damaged vehicle body on a checking frame comprises two cross-members carried by vertical end-plates and rigidly fixed to two mounting-plates. The first cross-member is intended to be fixed directly in holes of the longitudinal members of the checking frame. The second cross-member is mounted in an adjustable position on the longitudinal members by means of two sole-plates. Four vehicle body supports are slidably mounted on the cross-members and capable of receiving detachable positioning elements which are specific to each type of vehicle body. The two cross-members are raised to a sufficient height to permit positioning of the horizontal frame of a measuring device beneath the cross-members. The measuring device can thus rest on the longitudinal members of the checking frame so as to permit all the necessary checking operations.
