  • Patent number: 4506314
Abstract: A submersible lamp having a standardized air impervious housing with a lens formed therein in optical alignment with a bulb carried within the housing. The housing defines a predetermined quantity of air and has an opening at the lower end thereof such that upon submersion in water a limited amount of water is allowed to enter the housing, trapping the air within the housing and preventing the water from rising above a predetermined level. A channel is formed on the rear wall of the lamp housing to receive a bulb and bulb socket support bracket for the selective mounting and positioning of the bulb within the housing in accordance with the function which the lamp is to perform.

  • Patent number: 4498242
Abstract: The device for checking the positions of shock-absorber heads of a McPherson suspension system comprises a horizontal cross-beam which is placed above the front end of a damaged or undamaged vehicle body to be checked and which is pivotally mounted on two lateral support brackets. Two sliders mounted on the cross-beam each carry a pivoted control arm, the lower end of which is placed opposite to the center of the corresponding shock-absorber head. Graduated scales placed above each slider and on each control arm provide a direct visual indication of forward or backward angular displacement of the cross-beam with respect to the lateral support brackets and of outward or inward inclination of the control arms of the sliders.

  • Patent number: 4453451
Abstract: A vehicle hydraulic system wherein there is provided a primary pump coupled to a steering control valve through which steering of the vehicle is effected. A main priority valve is used to meter the flow of pressurized hydraulic fluid from the primary pump to either the steering control valve or an implement valve which is utilized to effect operation of auxiliary equipment, in accordance with the priority demands of the steering system. An auxiliary ground-drive pump provides a source of pressurized hydraulic fluid at all times the vehicle is in motion and is coupled to the steering control valve to provide a source of pressurized fluid when necessary or circulates the pressurized fluid to sump. The application of the output from the ground-drive pump is controlled by a secondary priority valve coupled to the output from the ground-drive pump to direct the output to the steering control valve or to sump.

  • Patent number: 4355944
Abstract: A safety or lock pin operatively engaged in a portion of the vehicle adjacent to the vehicle lift arm and coupled to the vehicle frame. The safety or lock pin is inserted into the portion associated with the vehicle frame so that the lift arm is prevented from lowering past the safety pin. A retaining pin is engageable in a bracket positioned adjacent the opening for the safety pin to retain the safety pin in its operative position. When in an inoperative position the safety pin is carried in a bracket secured to the vehicle frame and having an aperture through which the retainer pin passes to insure that the safety pin does not become lost during vehicle operation. Suitable safety chains couple the retaining pin to the safety pin, and the safety pin to the vehicle frame to insure that neither pin becomes separated or lost.

  • Patent number: 4326668
Abstract: Vehicle traction devices for passenger cars and alike including a flexible belt-like traction mat with transverse corrugations on one side and substantially smooth on the other side. In one embodiment, one end of the mat is secured to anchoring means including a flexible anchoring pad and ground gripping element. In another embodiment, the mat is secured to a bridge having cleats for anchoring the device to the ground. In use, the traction mat is first arranged to form a loop relative to the anchoring means. With its corrugations facing a tire and its smooth side facing the ground, the traction mat will easily be drawn under a spinning wheel until that end of it, which is secured to the anchoring means, becomes choked by the anchoring means. The tractive effort then developed causes the anchoring means to become wedged and thus assuring its fixed position, whereby the traction mat is prevented from being propelled away by the driven wheel.
