Abstract: A device which is used to guide at least two flow media having different pressures with a shaft or similar force-transmitting element, and a pressure insulating element such as a housing surrounding the shaft or similar. Areas arranged next to each other in the direction of the axis are determined between the force-transmitting element and the pressure-insulating element by sealing elements; at least one of the preferably magnetofluidic sealing elements is leakage-free, and two areas for fluids (A, B) having different pressures flank an area for an auxiliary liquid (H), whereby said area is subdivided by a device into two partial areas for two different pressure areas. A conveying medium is allocated to the area at high pressure and ambient air is allocated to the area at low pressure. The auxiliary liquid (H) is a carrier oil of the magnetofluid, optionally a silicon oil, allocated to the sealing element.
Abstract: In a gearwheel set for a transmission, in particular for a transmission with a PTO (Power Take-Off) accessory, at least two gearwheels (6, 10) bearing against one another, and the gearwheels (6, 10) being rotatable in relation to one another, and both gearwheels (6, 10) having recesses (8.1-8.3; 11.1-11.3) which form with one another a reception space for an actuator (1), the actuator (1) is to be radially movable in the reception space, and the recesses (8.1-8.3; 11.1-11.3) are to have a different shape.
Abstract: To manufacture a casting core, one or more recesses are formed in at least one face of metallic sheetstock. After the forming, a piece is cut from the metallic sheetstock. The piece is deformed to a non-flat configuration.
Abstract: A process for preparing a silicon based substrate with a protective coating having improved thermal resistance at temperature up to at least 1500° C., and the resulting article.

Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing chains of linked food products such as sausages with twisted portions and having a plurality of stuffing tubes, includes a plurality of stuffing tubes 2 provided at equal intervals about a rotational axis Xo; a stuffing tube moving body 4 which rotates through predetermined angles about the rotational axis Xo so that the respective stuffing tubes 2 sequentially move to a filling position III; and a stuffed casing conveying means 50 which conveys in a suspended state a stuffed casing C formed by the stuffing tube 2 positioned at the filling position III.
Abstract: A method for repairing or replacing a mechanically retained vane is provided. The method comprises the steps of forming an oversized cavity in an outer base, inserting a flared end of a vane in the oversized cavity, and inserting a wedge for mechanically retaining the flared end of the vane in the oversized cavity. The wedge has a first surface with a constant pitch angle to match the outer base cavity and a second surface with a variable pitch angle to match the vane tip dovetail.
Abstract: A planetary roll system, in particular for a device for extending bones. The system comprises two elements that can be displaced in opposition to one another and that are interconnected by at least one drive element. A hosing is designed to receive at least one planetary roll which comprises at least one radial cavity.
Abstract: A drive unit for motor vehicles with hybrid drive and a drive train in a longitudinal arrangement, between the internal combustion engine and the first axle, comprising a housing piece, a through driveshaft, an electric motor, surrounding the through driveshaft with a first clutch before the electric motor and a second clutch thereafter, whereby a second axle is also to be driven with minimal space requirement. A first electric motor is thus physically combined with the first clutch, surrounding a second electric motor and the through driveshaft and is connected to the second axle by means of a third clutch, an offset gear and a shaft.

Abstract: A turbine engine component is provided which has a substrate and a thermal barrier coating applied over the substrate. The thermal barrier coating comprises at least one layer of a first material selected from the group consisting of a zirconate, a hafnate, a titanate, and mixtures thereof, which first material has been mixed with, and contains, from about 25 to 99 wt % of at least one oxide. The at least one oxide comprises at least one oxide of a material selected from the group consisting of lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, promethium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, lutetium, scandium, indium, and yttrium. If desired, a metallic bond coat may be present between the substrate and the thermal barrier coating system. A method for forming the thermal barrier coating system of the present invention is described.

Abstract: The filler neck of a fuel tank with an arrangement for preventing incorrect fueling has a rotatable ring and closing elements which are actuated by said ring, with a transmission device having the following features being arranged between the movable part and the rotatable ring: there are two slides which are situated opposite one another and which have run-on faces which face toward one another in the support body, the two slides are connected to one another by means of a rigid bar, which rigid bar is movably articulatedly connected with its first end to the first slide and with its second end to the second slide, the second end of the bar is a bolt which engages into a first slot of the second slide and into a second slot of the rotatable ring.
Abstract: A fluid handling apparatus 10 has a plurality of fluid handling subassemblies 16 arrayed on a plate body 12. Each of the fluid handling subassemblies includes: an injecting section 26 for injecting a fluid; a fluidized section 28 for allowing the fluid to continuously flow downwards; a fluid housing chamber 30 for receiving the fluid from the fluidized section; a wall portion 20 formed between the fluid housing chamber and the fluidized section; slits 20b for allowing the fluid to enter the fluid housing chamber; and a surface-area increasing means 22 for increasing the area of a contact surface with the fluid in the fluidized section. The slits extend from a lower end positioned in the vicinity of the lower end of the fluidized section, to an upper end higher than the upper end of the fluidized section, for allowing the injecting section and fluidized section to be communicated with the fluid housing chamber.
