  • Patent number: 6702222
Abstract: In a process for insertion of wire (30) in the form of a field coil (56) between the pole horns (38, 40) and the stator wall (36) of a double-pole stator (14) of an electric motor, the stator (14) consists of two stator halves (12a, b) and the wire (30) to form the coil (56) is inserted by way of a winding arm (16) rotating about a rotation axis (y) lying perpendicular to the stator axis (x), where during the winding process, for temporary formation of an enlarged insert groove (34, 35) for the wire (30), a winding accessory (32) is laid against the outer edge of the stator (14) and the free ends of the pole horns (38, 40) are covered with a wire guide sleeve (42). The process allows the winding of stators in which the pole horns largely cover the rotor external diameter of collector motors, leading to a higher motor power.

  • Patent number: 6699820
Abstract: The present invention concerns the improvement of the supercurrent carrying capabilities, i.e. the increase of critical current densities, of bicrystalline or polycrystalline superconductor structures, especially of high-Tc superconductors. By providing an appropriate predetermined dopant profile across the superconductor structure, in particular within or in the vicinity of the grain boundaries, the space-charge layers at the grain boundaries are reduced and thereby the current transport properties of the superconductor significantly improved. Simultaneously, the influence of magnetic fields on the critical current densities is significantly reduced, which in turn enhances the overall supercurrent carrying capabilities while keeping the supercurrent transport properties of the grains at good values.

  • Patent number: 6695077
Abstract: Hydrocarbon contaminants in drill cuttings generated in an oil drilling operation are removed by mixing the drill cuttings with an agglomerant to produce a pre-treatment mixture; heating to vaporize the hydrocarbon contaminants under a condition in which vapor entrainable particles of the drill cuttings are agglomerated by the agglomerant, and caking of drill cuttings is inhibited; drill cuttings having a reduced content of the contaminant are removed, and vaporized hydrocarbons having a reduced content of vapor entrainable particles are recovered. In this way, the particulate content of vapors escaping from the drill cuttings is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6697446
Abstract: An instrumented capsule for material irradiation tests in research reactors. The instrumented capsule performs an optimum material irradiation test under a testing environment similar to the operational environment of a real reactor. The capsule minimizes the influence of flow-induced vibration caused by forced-circulation-type coolant flow in a research reactor, and overcomes the problems experienced in the conventional breakable parts of instrumented capsules which may be broken during the process of loading/unloading the capsules in vertical irradiation holes of reactor pools. The instrumented capsule includes a capsule main body installed in the vertical irradiation hole. The capsule main body consists of a shell and several instruments, such as thermocouples, dosimeters, a vacuum control pipe, and heaters housed in the shell.
