The method may further include determining a value of the PIU parameter and determining whether to allow the host to access the shared computer readable medium based at least on the value of the PIU parameter.

Abstract: A system and method for BIOS and controller communication. An information handling system comprises a central processing unit coupled to a memory. The memory further comprises a BIOS. The information handling system further comprises a controller coupled to a nonvolatile memory, and a register coupled to the central processing unit and the controller. The controller is operable to initialize communication with the BIOS, and service commands from the BIOS. The central processing unit is operable to initialize communication with the controller, and send commands to the controller. A method for communication between a BIOS and a controller in an information handling system comprises initializing communication between the BIOS and the controller. The method further comprises encrypting a command using a key by the BIOS, and sending the command to the controller. The controller processes the command, and the BIOS receives the result.

Abstract: An apparatus for signaling information in a network environment is provided that includes an access gateway operable to establish one or more packet data protocol (PDP) links on behalf of an end user. The access gateway is operable to communicate a message associated with a change in quality of service, locale, or policy enforcement relating to a selected one of the PDP links to a client services packet gateway (CSPG). The CSPG responds to the message by providing an accounting command for the selected PDP link such that synchronization is achieved between accounting information and a state associated with the selected PDP link.

A number of cutting elements or inserts may be disposed on an exterior surface of a cone assembly. In one form, a method for providing selectable characters within a user interface includes determining an operating mode of a communication device and receiving an input associated with a selected input key. The method determines a group of characters associated with the selected key based on the operating mode and displays the group of characters within the user interface. The user interface may display a first character of the group of characters within a first portion of the user interface and the group of characters proximal to the first character within a second portion of the user interface.

Abstract: Methods, devices and systems for Real-time Instant Presence with Advertisement (RIPA) using an instant messaging topology with wireless technology to instantly setup and update of presence information of an instant messaging user. The invention provides location information of a business and other business information to a wireless instant messaging user/customer of the business, and obviates the need for the users/customer to manually enter presence information of the business. The invention further provides methods for promotion, advertising and network marketing of a business using presence information sent to instant messaging users and instantly propagated through instant messaging address lists.

Abstract: A method for fulfilling inventory requests includes receiving an inventory request requesting an inventory item and selecting the requested inventory item from an inventory holder. The method further includes storing the requested inventory item in an order holder associated with the inventory request and moving the order holder to a storage space. In addition, the method includes detecting a triggering event and in response to detecting the triggering event, retrieving the order holder from the storage space.

Abstract: Methods and systems for screening for the effect of bath composition on the performance of electroplating, electroless-plating, electrochemical-etching, electropolishing, and chemical-etching processes are provided. The methods and systems use microfluidic channels that allow for etching or plating studies on an electrode exposed to a multitude of bath compositions at different positions on its surface. After deposition or etching, the electrode surface can be quickly and easily detached from the device for analysis of deposited or etched film properties.

Abstract: According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method of updating a certificate trust list on a first endpoint includes receiving an initial certificate trust list at the first endpoint. The initial certificate trust list includes authentication data for at least a second endpoint. Digitally signed information is received at the first endpoint and authentication is initiated against the authentication data for the at least a second endpoint. The authentication occurs only if the digital signature is complementary to the authentication data for the at least a second endpoint. After successful authentication, the initial certificate trust list is updated with the information to yield an updated certificate trust list.

Abstract: A blowing agent blend for making thermoplastic polymer foams includes methyl formate. The blowing agent blend can further comprise at least one co-blowing agent. The co-blowing agent is either a physical co-blowing agent (e.g. an inorganic agent, a hydrocarbon, a halogenated hydrocarbon, a hydrocarbon with polar, functional group(s), water or any combination thereof), or a chemical co-blowing agent, or combinations thereof. The thermoplastic polymer foam can be an alkenyl aromatic polymer foam, e.g. a polystyrene foam. The blowing agent blend includes methyl formate and one or more co-blowing agents. The methyl formate-based blowing agent blends produce dimensionally stable foams that have improved resistance to flame spread. A process for the preparation of such foams is also provided.
