Abstract: A circuit permits of monitoring the temperature and the color of coffee in the drums of roasting equipment, and controlling the flow of hot air with dampers operated in pairs by respective stepping motors. The dampers are moved through a succession of proportioning positions in a definite sequence of two stages; an initial, continuous movement that approximates to the thermal transition required, followed by a series of discrete steps producing a fine adjustment; thus it becomes possible to ensure that the set pre-roast and roast temperatures are reached in the drums at the prescribed moment in time.

Abstract: A method of oscillating a mold of a vertical continuous caster of the type having a pair of longer side frames and a pair of shorter side frames. The mold is oscillated vertically during the casting. A pair of mold walls, e.g., the longer side frames, are moved towards and away from the cast metal in synchronization with a vertical oscillation of the mold, so as to control the condition for supplying a mold powder into the gap between the mold walls and the cast metal.
Abstract: An improved method for producing a protective-coated steel pipe in a construction work site by spirally winding and melt-bonding a belt-like thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet around the outer peripheral surface of a steel pipe, for use as a construction member in corrosive circumstances, the method provides a winding step winding the sheet around the outer peripheral surface of the steel pipe while contacting adjacent side end faces of the sheet in a face-to-face relation to each other and a bonding step of heat melt-bonding the adjacent sheet portions to each other in the contacted state of the respective side end faces while pressing both sheet portions together by a pressing means when they begin to melt. Also disclosed is an equipment used for practicing the said method. According to these method and equipment, the resin of the sheet comes into completely close contact with the steel pipe so the corrosion resistance of the pipe is improved remarkably.
Abstract: The roll forming machine consists in a succession of stands (1), each carrying at least two parallel forming rolls (12, 13) carried by shafts (48, 49) journaled on either side to a pair of uprights (16, 17) anchored permanently to a base (2) that can be clamped to and separated from the fixed bed (3) of the machine; the rolls (12, 13) of each stand are driven by way of respective p.t.o. shafts (32, 33) mounted to a further fixed upright (27) and carried in journal blocks (34, 35) of which at least one associates with the upright on a floating fit that will allow a margin of transverse movement in relation to the axis of rotation.
