Abstract: A cooking oven and method of cooking vertically arrayed food carrying skewers movably attached and carried in a horizontal endless travel path by conveyor means to encircle a heating element array within a single open cooking oven chamber so as to constantly directly and indirectly expose the food to the heat radiated from the element array throughout the complete travel path within the oven chamber. A plurality of internested drip pans are disposed within the oven chamber vertically beneath the food travel path for collecting juice drippage. The oven chamber superposed beneath a conveyor chamber contains an alternating array of infrared gas burners and reflectors arranged upright in a row. A slot communicating between the conveyor chamber and oven chamber provides for travel of suspended food carrying skewers within the oven chamber and incorporates a gasket seal to retain heat and inhibit transfer of contaminants downwardly to the oven chamber.

Abstract: A combined sheet bending brake, coil holder and cut-off mechanism that includes a sheet bending brake having a support base, and elongated fixed and movable clamping members carried by the support base so as to clamp sheet stock extending longitudinally between the clamping members. A coil holder has a support frame removably cantilevered from one end of the support base. A trolley is removably mounted on the support frame, and has a pair of spaced rollers that extend axially in a direction transverse to the elongated fixed and movable clamping members on the brake for extending through and rotatably supporting a coil of sheet stock. Bars are carried by said support frame for releasably clamping a stock end extending from a coil on the trolley. A cut-off mechanism is removably mountable on the coil holder for severing sheet end stock extending from the holder into said bending brake.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a porous blue light emitting diode comprising the steps of preparing a silicon substrate having a back surface, applying a conducting layer on the back surface, annealing the substrate coated with the conducting layer in an inert gas atmosphere, applying an anti-corrosion layer on the conducting layer, immersing the anti-corrosion layer-applied substrate in a hydrofluoric acid aqueous solution with a concentration of about 5% by volume, applying a voltage to the resulting layers for eroding the anti-corrosion layer-applied substrate to form a porous layer having Si wires on a top surface of the substrate, and oxidizing the porous layer for making sizes of the Si wires small enough for emitting light having a peak occuring at a wavelength shorter than about 520 nm. This method offers a simple and feasible way to fabricate a porous blue light emitting diode.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for detecting voltage drops on an IC chip. The device operates by using a reference voltage to detect the voltage range of a local voltage. A multiple number of reference voltages are used (or predetermined) between the reference voltage and the ground voltage. The voltage drop detecting device includes a multiple number of inverters having to the local voltage as its input. The inverters each have a trigger voltage corresponding to one of the reference positions. When the local voltage is smaller than the trigger voltage of the inverter, a low to high voltage switching is present at the output. A multiple number of positive-edge triggering devices, coupled to the reference voltage as one of its inputs, are each coupled to one of the inverters. A corresponding inverter presents a low to high switching to make the reference voltage present at the corresponding output terminal. The voltage range of the local voltage is detected at the output terminals.
Abstract: An apparatus for use in a computer software protection system includes a protection device and a key externally connected thereto. The key includes a resistor and capacitor connected in series. The protection device includes an I/O port connected to the key such that a charge on the capacitor corresponds to a voltage on the I/O port. The I/O port is connected, selectively to ground by an NMOS switch, which is controlled by a control signal from a control program executing on a main game machine. The protection device further includes a voltage comparator having an input connected to the I/O port, and an output connected to an I/O interface that interfaces the protection device to the game console. In operation, the control program determines whether the key has a valid charging characteristic, as determined by the selection of the resistor and capacitor. While the control signal is unasserted, the NMOS switch is off, and the capacitors fully charged through the resistor.
Abstract: A switching device (5) is arranged in a junction element (1), which is to be used in a toy railway and is in the form of a reversible plate. On each flat side, this plate is formed with depressions (2, 2', 2"), which in pairs form an incoming railway track (2) and two outgoing railway tracks (2', 2") extending therefrom. On each flat side, the switching device (5) has a switch plate (6) which is arranged in a recess (7) formed in the respective flat sides and which is pivotable between a first position and a second position, in which it produces a track connection between the incoming railway track (2) and the one or the other of the outgoing railway tracks (2', 2"). The switch plates (6) are interconnected by means of a connecting element (12), which extends through a profile hole (16) in the junction element (1) and which, when the switch plates (6) occupy the first and the second position, engages a first and a second portion (16', 16"), respectively, of a wall delimiting the profile hole (16).
Abstract: An apparatus for generating graphic coordinates for scan type graphic display comprises a horizontal and a vertical start position generators, a horizontal and a vertical step value generators, a horizontal and a vertical position registers, and a first and a second adders. The horizontal and vertical start position generators generate respectively graphics horizontal and vertical start positions corresponding to a screen scanning line, The horizontal and vertical step value generators respectively produce graphics horizontal and vertical step values corresponding to the screen scanning line. The horizontal and vertical position registers input and store the respective horizontal and vertical start positions and temporarily store the result from the first and the second adders correspondingly. The first adder adds the horizontal step value and the contents of the horizontal position register and then outputs the results to the horizontal position register.
Abstract: A sorting equipment comprising a plurality of running trucks which travel in a coupled condition with one another along a definite travelling route comprised of a pair of rails. Disposed in each of the running trucks is a conveyor for conveying load laterally relative to a running direction. Induction lines are laid for supplying a high-frequency current along the travelling rails and a pickup coil is disposed in the running truck in an opposed relation to the induction lines. Rollers provided to each running truck which are to be brought into contact with the travelling rails are comprised of electrically conductive wheels, and the travelling rails are made of an electrically conductive material. In each running truck, a linear motor is disposed above the travelling rails and a metal plate is disposed on the linear motor. The metal plate is connected to an earthling conductor wired in the running truck, and the earthling conductor is connected to the rollers.
Abstract: An image register for a graphics display includes a pair of static random access memory (SRAM) devices for respectively storing image data associated with even numbered and odd numbered pixels, which correspond to even numbered and odd numbered addresses. The register includes a counter presettable to an initial value corresponding to a starting address of the stored image data. When the counter outputs an even address (an even state), the even SRAM is enabled for a write operation if an input layer code has a higher priority than the priority of the layer code for the image data stored in the even SRAM, although the odd SRAM is always enabled for a read operation in the even state. The read and write operations occur simultaneously. During the read operation on the odd SRAM, the layer code portion of the image data retrieved therefrom is latched in an associated buffer, whose output is fed to an associated comparator.
