Abstract: A fuel-price protection mechanism whereby customers may pre-purchase quantity-based amounts of fuel and retrieve said fuel at any participating fuel retailer. The quantity-based amounts of fuel are represented in the customers account as a quantity-based fuel credit. The fuel credits may be redeemed at a participating fuel retailer to obtain fuel. The fuel credits are associated with a customer's home geographical region or a customer's selected price class. A conversion mechanism will allow the customer to redeem fuel credits in a different geographical region or price class. Redemption within the home region or the customer selected price class can occur without conversion.

The data elements include one or more input parameters, and an initial list of the input parameters is transmitted to the first user system. The method further includes receiving object parameters from the first user system, and transmitting an updated list of the input parameters in response to a change in the input parameters caused by at least one of a change to the definition of the object classification, a change to one or more of the data elements, or receipt of the object parameters from the first user system.
Abstract: A cylindrical molded plastic container is adapted to receive a snap-on snap-ring which acts as a transition structure between the container sidewall and a suitably configured closure. The snap-ring does not require sonic or friction welding and thus reduces manufacturing costs in the production of the container. The container may be used to ship and store paint or other ingredients.
Abstract: An annular impactor structure for use in crusher/classifiers of the updraft type. An annular structure comprising a plurality of radially inwardly projecting, essentially vertical impactor plates of high-hardness material is located immediately above a vane structure such that entrained particulate matter from a milling bowl impacts one or both of the impactor plate surfaces. The impactor plates as well as the backer structures between the impactor plates are covered with coin-shaped protrusions. The impactor plate structure can be used in combination with a single or double course vane structure.
Abstract: A computer-implemented user interface method is disclosed. The method includes displaying information on a touchscreen of a computing device, receiving from a user of the device an input drawn on the touchscreen, correlating the input to a template, where the correlating includes employing a closed-form solution to find a rotation that reduces angular distance between the input and the template, and providing output based on a result of the correlating.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for self-treating internal muscle and trigger points related to pelvic pain in women and men. The apparatus includes a rod having a handle attached to a straight portion at a first end of the rod and a pressure applicator attached to a second end of the rod, where a first curved portion is disposed between the straight portion of the rod and the second end of the rod. In the method of the present invention, a trigger point is located in the patient's pelvic floor, the patient inserts the apparatus either vaginally or rectally to allow contact of the pressure applicator of the apparatus with the pelvic floor, and pressure is applied to the trigger point using the apparatus.

Abstract: A dual purpose waste receptacle and toilet tissue roll storage device in which the toilet tissue storage area is arranged below the waste receptacle and provides a base on which the dual purpose device stands in use. A flanged top provides for convenient handling. The device may be made in one or two pieces.
Abstract: A vehicle includes a vehicle body defining an opening, a door, and an adjustable wedge assembly. The door is mounted to the body for movement between an open position, wherein doors are disposed within the opening, and an open position, wherein the doors are at least partially outside of the opening. The adjustable wedge assembly includes a base portion fixed to one of the vehicle body and the door, and a wedge portion movable relative to the base portion between a plurality of positions including an outboard position, an inboard position and at least one intermediate position between the outboard position and the inboard position. A contact surface os disposed on one of the vehicle body and the door opposite the wedge portion.
Abstract: A lightweight pallet for supporting and carrying workpieces along an overhead transfer conveyor. A metallic conveyor carrier is adapted to be carried by the overhead transfer conveyor, and a lightweight, non-metallic base is connected to the conveyor carrier. A first lightweight, non-metallic support member is connected to and extends downward from the base. The first support member is substantially planar and is adapted to support the workpiece. A first lightweight, non-metallic brace member is connected to the base and the first support member for stabilizing and supporting the first support member. The first brace member is substantially planar, wherein the first brace member extends substantially perpendicular to the first support member, and the first support member and the second support member cooperate to define a substantially T-shaped structure that extends downward from the base.
Abstract: A vehicle includes a motor responsive to a first electronic control signal to transition between an active state and an inactive state and a transmission responsive to a second electronic control signal to transition between at least a reverse state, a neutral state and a drive state. A user-actuated control is mounted to an interior surface in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The control has at least one contact surface that contacts the user when the user operates the control, wherein the contact surface is integrated with a logo. A circuit is coupled to the control to generate at least one of the first electronic control signal and the second electronic control signal in response to user actuation of the control.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method, device and computer-program product for suppression of undesired temporal variations, notably flicker, in a sequence of video frames. Histogram-based and similar approaches generally do not remove all flicker. Features that are resolved only in portions of the flicker cycle will manifest themselves as residual flicker. This effect is near-universal in bright regions of a scene. The inventive solution is a mapping that aims to resolve in the output only those features that are resolved in all frames of the flicker cycle. Use of time-maximal quantile values may preserve non-resolution of such image features that are unresolved due to intermittent bright saturation. Thus, in one embodiment, a reduction of resolution is attained by means of a pixel-value mapping based on selecting, over a time window, maximal and minimal quantile values, with maximal values being used for bright spatial regions and minimal values for dark spatial regions.
Abstract: A method for decoding compressed video information is disclosed. The video information can include a plurality of frames each having a plurality of blocks. The method includes reading from the video information a segment map that associates blocks in the frame with four segment identifiers. Each segment identifier is associated with one or more segment parameters, such as quantization parameters, loop filter type, loop filter strength and sub-pixel interpolation filter. The blocks in each segment are then decoded using the associated segment parameters. Segment parameters can persist to following frames unless overwritten by a subsequent frame. A frame can also include a bit suppressing segmentation, in which case default parameters are used for all blocks in the frame.
Abstract: Methods for decoding frames of compressed video information are disclosed. Each frame includes a plurality of blocks having a prediction stage parameter and a residual error attribute. One method includes categorizing each of the blocks into categories based on at least one of the prediction stage parameter or the residual error attribute, determining a loop filter strength value to each of the categories, and filtering the boundary adjacent to at least one of the blocks using the loop filter strength assigned to the category in which that block is categorized.
