  • Patent number: 4798024
Abstract: A method and apparatus for deburring the inner edge of the bore of a workpiece. A tool is introduced into the bore, is rotated at high speed, and has a wobbling movement imparted thereto. Alternatively, the tool can be rotated while a wobbling movement is imparted to the workpiece. The tool is embodied as a grinding rod which is held by a grinder unit which is drivingly connected with an eccentric drive. The grinder unit is preferably pivotable in all directions. During operation, the tool or the workpiece describes, in the bore of the workpiece, a wobbling movement having a circular path which is concentric to the axis of the bore, and having a diameter which increases in the direction toward the free end of the bore. The burr which is to be worked is thus very precisely removed in a simple manner without the danger that the burr is moved into the bore. Furthermore, the tool is embodied in a simple manner, so that it has a long service life.

  • Patent number: 4795402
Abstract: A resilient shaft coupling having two metal parts that include an inner coupling ring and, coaxial thereto, an outer coupling ring. The facing generated surfaces of the rings are formed with a number of substantially radial cams or dogs which mesh with one another alternately in the circumferential direction and extend to near the pertaining opposite generated surface. Each two circumferentially consecutive cams or dogs form a pair whose adjacent surfaces are concave and delimit a chamber whose longitudinal axis extends parallel to the rotational axis of the coupling, and in which a resilient coupling member is disposed. The coupling members are radially biased or pre-loaded by a predetermined amount, and are secured to the generated surfaces of the inner and outer ring coupling rings. With the coupling in its rest position, gaps or spaces are present between each resilient coupling member and each cam or dog, and permit the members to deform freely and thus to be stressed in shear.

  • Patent number: 4793762
Abstract: A packing or unpacking machine having conveyor tracks for articles and containers, with transfer units that are guided in a circular path above these conveyer tracks. Each of the transfer units has a pick-up and carrier head on a support element that can be raised and lowered. A movement mechanism is provided for generating a relative movement for the pick-up and carrier heads relative to the support elements, with this relative movement being superimposed over the rotational movement of the support elements, so that during respective rotation of the support elements, which follow the circular path, the pick-up and carrier heads are moved in a common elliptical or elliptical-like overall path of revolution. In so doing, the respective pick-up and carrier heads are moved about a vertical axis such that a constant parallel position is maintained relative to the conveyer tracks.

  • Patent number: 4793735
Abstract: A vibratory roller having four drums that can be vibrated. The drums are driven individually, and are mounted in pairs in respective supports. One of the supports is attached to a front frame, and the other support is attached to a rear frame. The object of the invention is to improve the steering condition of vibratory rollers, and especially of trench rollers, in such a way that on the one hand changes in direction during normal travel, or small corrections in direction, can be rapidly undertaken without damaging the already compacted surface of the ground, and that on the other hand it is also possible to make sharp changes in direction practically on the spot. Previously known types of steering for vibratory rollers, namely fifth-wheel steering, transfer steering, articulated steering, and panzer steering, do not permit such a diversified steering condition. Pursuant to the invention, the desired steering condition is achieved by interconnecting the front and rear frames via a hinged or swivel coupling.
