Abstract: This specification discloses a multigap series construction for multiple electrode monolithic capacitor structures employing ceramics. The voltage rating of such capacitors increases with each gap added across the dielectric. Additionally, the amount of piezoelectric activity occurring in a piezoelectric dielectric is limited by the series gap arrangement to be below that which causes deleterious spurious signals to be generated when said capacitor vibrates.
Abstract: A device for the pressure fixing of a toner image contains a pair of pressure fixing rolls arranged in parallel to each other. An image record carrier is fed in between said pressure fixing rolls which, for the pressure fixing of the toner image, are pressed against each other through a pressure bar by means of a plurality of pressure generators. Said pressure generators are positioned displaceably in the axial direction of said pressure fixing rolls to adjust a load distribution depending upon the width of said record carrier.
Abstract: Disclosed is an inspection endoscope for medical or industrial applications, by which an observer can know the degree of the color change, inner pressure and temperature while the observer inspects, for example, the interior of the colon. In the eye lens zone of this inspection endoscope, not only the image of the inspection object fed from an image guide but also other factors such as the color, inner pressure and temperature are simultaneously displayed, and therefore, the inspection can be accomplished objectively while the inspection object is observed.
Abstract: A device for observing the eye in order to treat the same comprising optical elements producing optical illumination beams which issue from a light source. The beams consist of parallel rays whose axes are eccentric and parallel to the axis of the focussing lens and traverse the lens. Observation beams and illuminating beams are combined in one optical system. Beams emerging from the focussing lens or the eccentric illuminating rays exhibit a certain inclination relative to the axial observation beam.

Abstract: Disclosed is an ink ribbon protecting mechanism for preventing jamming of an ink ribbon which is contained in a folded state in an ink ribbon cartridge comprising a case member and a lid member. An ink ribbon contained in such ribbon cartridge is brought down or twisted by vibration or shock during transportation or the like, which results in occurrence of jamming of the ink ribbon during use. Occurrence of jamming is effectively prevented by this ink ribbon protecting mechanism. The protecting mechanism comprises a protecting member including a plurality of needle-like or plate-like projections formed on a substrate, and these projections are inserted into through holes formed on the outer wall of a ribbon cartridge and intruded among laps of the folded ink ribbon. The ink ribbon is supported by these projections and is thus prevented from being folded or brought down or twisted by vibration or shock during transportation or the like.
Abstract: Installation for the sawing of wafers of semiconductor material encompassing an alignment station (1), a sawing station (9), and a cleaning station (7). A handling device, provided to convey the wafers from one station to another, while ensuring a perfect positioning under the disc (11) of the saw, encompasses at least two supporting platforms (2, 13), of a mobile table (14) and a transfer angle-iron (15). Platforms (2) and (13) are provided to retain a wafer by suction, whether the platforms are carried by fixed support (6) or by mobile table (14).

Abstract: Device for the alignment of a part 12 and of a substrate 10 designed to receive it. The device contains a plate 2, on the horizontal flat upper surface 3 of which an XY table 5 can slide, a blocking device 16 for temporarily interrupting any translation of the XY table 5, but leaving it free to rotate on a given vertical axis 4, a gripping device 11 and an optical viewing device 15. The blocking device 16 preferably consists of an electromagnet mounted for rotation in a bore of the plate 2.
Abstract: The invention relates to a process of deposition of a coating of a gold compound on a solid substrate. In a vacuum chamber (1), the substrate is fixed on a first substrate electrode (2). A composite target (5) essentially consists of gold and at least one of the metal compounds, such as nitride, carbide and boride of the metals of group IV b of the periodic classification of elements and tantalum. A high-purity argon atmosphere at pressure ranging between 4.times.10.sup.-4 and 3.times.10.sup.-2 Torr is then established in the chamber. The deposition of the coating is then carried out by ionic deposition or evaporation in vapor phase at a given rate. The invention may find application to coat articles of jewelry or of watch cases.
Abstract: This invention covers a destructive testing procedure in which a voltage 2.5 times the rated voltage is applied to the capacitor, at a relatively high current. The resistance in series with capacitors being tested is reduced step-by-step until the resistance value is reached such that the percentage of capacitor failures on any given sample of capacitors remains constant. Thereafter, all similar capacitors are tested at that resistance value and at 2.5 times the rated voltage. Those which do not explode exhibit remarkable reliability.
Abstract: Novel antitumor anthracycline glycosides are prepared by condensing daunomycinone with 2,3,4,6-tetradeoxy-4-C-methylene-3-trifluoroacetamido-L-threo-hexopyranosy l chloride; 2,3,4,6-tetradeoxy-4-C-methylene-3-trifluoroacetamido-L-arabino-hexopyrano syl chloride or 2,3,6-trideoxy-4-C-trifluoroacetamidomethyl-3-trifluoroacetamido-3-O-trifl uoroacetyl-L-lyxo-hexopyranosyl chloride.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the surgical treatment of the eye by perforation, by laser radiation, of a tissue or inner wall of the eyeball having a resistance to the free circulation of the aqueous humour. A laser radiation burst comprising at least one pulse of duration d comprised between 10 and 60 ns and of radiated energy comprised between 30 and 300 millijoules is produced and focussed at a determined distance p inside the wall. The radiation is focussed according to a solid angle .OMEGA. determining a density of radiated energy causing ionization of the propagation medium.A shock wave is also produced due to this ionization close to the mean direction of propagation of the radiated, thereby allowing the tissue or inner wall to be perforated.
