  • Patent number: 7218428
Abstract: An image data sequencing method for a memory unit inside an optical scanning device. The image data sequencing method is particularly suitable for scanning a line of pixels with each pixel comprising a plurality of primary colors. The image data sequencing method involves scanning a line of pixels to obtain the data for a primary or secondary color. The pixels within the scan line are subdivided into groups. A storage space is reserved both before and after the address space inside the memory unit for holding the scanned primary or secondary color data so that all the primary or secondary color data constituting a pixel are in a fixed sequence next to each other inside the memory unit. When all the primary or secondary color data of pixels within a group are secured, the group of data is released from the memory unit.

  • Patent number: 7212515
Abstract: Fast macrodiversity switching (FMS) of channels that employ interleaving. The fast macrodiversity switching dynamically switches radio links used for traffic and control channels for a mobile station among a number of base transceiver stations (BTS) without switching the radio resource, using the same frequency and time slot combination (TDMA) in an environment where interleaving is occurring. The fast macrodiversity switching of channels and interleave processing is under control of an interleave manager which is distributed among zone managers. The control by the host and assistant zone managers includes switching down-link signals to and up-link signals from mobile stations among base transceiver stations which include broadcast channels (non-switched) and dedicated (switched) channels that employ interleaving. The dedicated channels are switched as frequently as a signal switch time which can be the frame rate of the up-link signals.

  • Patent number: 7212581
Abstract: A multi-channel RF receiver uses an image rejection mixer (e.g. double quadrature mixer) in the IF down conversion stage for image side band rejection (whereby use of an IF narrow band filter for image rejection may be omitted if desired) and comprises a simplified frequency synthesizer which generates both a “wandering” IF oscillator frequency and an RF oscillator frequency for the up/down conversion stages (being, for down conversion, from RF to IF and from IF to base band. The IF used for a particular RF carrier (channel) is selected so as to be both an integer (N) sub-harmonic of that RF carrier and within the operating frequency band of the image rejection mixer. Advantageously, the synthesizer comprises only one loop and one VCO, wherein the IF oscillator signal is produced from the RF oscillator signal by means of a frequency divider.

  • Patent number: 7209598
Abstract: An image correction method is provided. First, scan an all-white document and form a scanned image including a plurality of image pixels with each of them having a gray level value. Next, gather these gray level values statistically such that each of them has an image pixel quantity. Then the maximum gray level value and the minimum gray level value are selected and a middle gray level value is obtained accordingly. Following that, determine whether the reference gray level value is greater or smaller than the middle gray level value according to the document, select the gray level values from within the interval of (the reference gray level value±a gray level value), and weight average the selected gray level values according to these selected gray level values and their corresponding image pixel quantities to obtain a corrected gray level value.

  • Patent number: 7210139
Abstract: A parallel processing architecture comprising a cluster of embedded processors that share a common code distribution bus. Pages or blocks of code are concurrently loaded into respective program memories of some or all of these processors (typically all processors assigned to a particular task) over the code distribution bus, and are executed in parallel by these processors. A task control processor determines when all of the processors assigned to a particular task have finished executing the current code page, and then loads a new code page (e.g., the next sequential code page within a task) into the program memories of these processors for execution. The processors within the cluster preferably share a common memory (1 per cluster) that is used to receive data inputs from, and to provide data outputs to, a higher level processor. Multiple interconnected clusters may be integrated within a common integrated circuit device.

  • Patent number: 7202981
Abstract: A method and a system for increasing scanning speed are provided. The method may include determining a transmission rate of a transit interface, scanning an original to generate an image data, and adjusting a cycle time of the image data to change a data generating rate responsive to the transmission rate of the transit interface. One aspect of the present disclosure may be by adjusting the cycle time of a state machine to change the data generating rate corresponding to the transmission rate of the transit interface. Therefore, in response to the transmission rate of the transit interface, the cycle time of the state machine may be adjusted to produce the data at a rate that prevents the smearing process. Thus, the possibility of memory buffer full may be reduced, which may lead to the reduction in start-stop processes and therefore the overall scanning speed may be increased without necessarily requiring the increase in size of a memory buffer.

  • Patent number: 7203200
Abstract: A method for activating a packet data protocol context in a wireless telecommunication system comprising at least one terminal and at least one network element. The network element is arranged to deliver packets between the wireless telecommunication system and other packet data networks. Direction-specific service conditions are stored in the telecommunication system for packets received by the network element and designated to at least one terminal. The stored direction-specific service conditions determine what kind of service is provided for packets received from different directions. The direction of a received packet is determined and the direction-specific service conditions relating to the determined direction of the packet are checked. The packet data protocol context is activated according to the direction-specific service conditions.

  • Patent number: 7203378
Abstract: An accelerative noise filtering method for image data is provided. The present invention includes selecting four neighboring pixels around a target pixel in a pattern of a cross shape or X shape, and calculating the absolute value of a difference between the target pixel and each of the four neighboring pixels. When the absolute value of the difference of the neighboring pixel is not larger than a standard deviation, a binary value of a bit corresponding to the neighboring pixel is set “1”. When the absolute value of the difference of the neighboring pixel is larger than a standard deviation, a binary value of a bit corresponding to the neighboring pixel is set “0”. Consequently, a 4-bit mapping table including the binary values of the four neighboring pixels is obtained. Then, a new pixel value for replacing the target pixel value is calculated based on a calculation derived from the 4-bit mapping table.
