  • Patent number: 6792145
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for extracting textual as well as tabular data material from financial documents. Initially, a comparison is made to determine the type of data schedule material provided in the document. Subsequently, the character strings of the financial document are compared to character strings provided in previous documents or in various databases. The database of the previous document would include the textual material in a first plane, and the tabular material also in that first plane. If a character string match is made between a new document and an old document, the new tabular data material would be provided in a data matrix in a second plane but the corresponding textual material would not be included in the textual matrix provided in that second plane. Only character strings not matched in the textual material of the first plane would be provided in the textual matrix of the second plane.

  • Patent number: 6698633
Abstract: A relatively rigid body member is combined with a relatively soft pad member to form a shoulder pad. The pad member is mounted on a curved lower surface of the body member. The upper surface of the body member includes a slot which accepts a luggage strap and which is angled forwardly toward the lower surface. The curved lower surface accommodates the curvature of the user's shoulder while the pad member conforms to the individual user's shoulder anatomy. The upper and lower surfaces of the body member are formed in an angular relationship so that during use, the slot is always directed toward the user's shoulder so that the load exerted by the shoulder strap keeps the shoulder pad in place on the user's shoulder.

  • Patent number: 6378696
Abstract: A display case for jewelry, such as a wrist watch, is provided which includes a housing formed of a receiving shell and a cover closeable over the shell, a display mount within the housing for supporting the jewelry, and a multi-tiered rack within the housing adjacent the display mount. The preferred embodiment employs a foamed structure to serve as a mount which includes an outer frame surrounding a cavity and a support upon which the wrist watch rests and can form-fittingly be lodged within the cavity. The multi-tiered rack has a series of plates pivotally moveable from a horizontal to a vertical position. A CD disc can be stored within the pocket of each plate. When the primary purpose of the display case for showcasing jewelry has been completed, a purchaser of the jewelry discards the foamed mount and can now employ the case for the storage of CD discs.
