  • Patent number: 4349779
Abstract: A volume control apparatus wherein a digital output from an up/down counter having a clock input terminal and an up/down control terminal is converted into an analog output by a D/A converter and used as a control input to an electronic attenuator. A rotary pulse generator produces a pulse each time it is rotated through a given operating rotation angle at either a first output terminal or a second output terminal, according to the operating direction. The output terminals are coupled to input terminals of the logic circuit, respectively, an output terminal of the logic circuit is coupled to a clock input terminal of the up/down counter, and the second output terminal is coupled to another input terminal of the logic circuit and to an up/down control terminal of the up/down counter.

  • Patent number: 4349490
Abstract: A casing of stretched plastic material, whether or not filled with a fluid such as gas or air, is wound with some tension about a smooth heated mandrel. During its curved path of travel said casing is on the one hand subjected to a contact or a radiation heat and on the other hand to a convection heat, said contact radiation heat prevailing during a period of time which is greater than that of the convection heat, thus causing the inner curved portion of the said casing to set during the time that the outer portions of the casing windings have already cooled down, so that smooth curved surfaces are obtained.

  • Patent number: 4347721
Abstract: A lock having a key-operated rotary plug supported within a shell. The rotary plug has an eccentric tenon which projects axially from the inner end thereof, which tenon is engaged within a transverse slot formed in the opposed face of the dead bolt to cause reciprocal slidable displacement thereof in a direction perpendicular to the rotational axis of the lock. The rotary plug also has a second eccentric tenon projecting axially from the inner end thereof, which second tenon is angularly spaced a substantial distance from the first-mentioned tenon. The bolt has a second slot which is closely adjacent but spaced from the first-mentioned slot. During rotation of the plug through a selected angle, such as 180.degree., one of the tenons engages one of the slots during only a portion of the selected angle to effect linear displacement of the dead bolt through a portion of its stroke.

  • Patent number: 4341534
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for degassing the pressure fluid of a hydraulic system, in which a vacuum is maintained in the free space above the pressure fluid in the fluid reservoir of the hydraulic system by a vacuum pump. The vacuum pump has a selective pumping action, by virtue of which permanent gases present in the free space are withdrawn but vapors of the pressure fluid present in the free space are not withdrawn. Pressure fluid entering the reservoir from the hydraulic system is passed over a degassing surface to promote separation of the permanent gases in the pressure fluid from the fluid. A compensating line is provided between the vacuum pump and the reservoir for returning to the reservoir the nominal amounts of pressure fluid withdrawn from the reservoir by the pump. Valves provided in all fluid lines leading to and from the reservoir maintain the vacuum in the reservoir during system shut-downs.
