  • Patent number: 5355970
Abstract: An articulated riser system for aerial access equipment wherein a parallelogram linkage is provided by a support frame, a riser frame assembly, and a pair of substantially parallel arms pivotally connected at each end to the support frame and riser frame assembly. The parallel arms are positioned one above the other and the lower arm is provided with a multicell cross-sectional configuration larger than the tubular cross-sectional configuration of the upper arm so that heavier loads can be supported by aerial access equipment than if both parallel arms had the same cross-sectional configuration. A trough is provided in the upper surface of the lower arm so that the upper arm is nested therein when the parallelogram linkage is in its fully lowered and fully raised positions.

  • Patent number: 5351996
Abstract: A device serving as a coupling between a flexible pipe conduit (1) installed underneath plaster and a fitting arranged above the plaster comprises a casing (4, 5a, 5b, 6) and a pipe elbow (3) insertable in the casing (4, 5a, 5b, 6) and fixable therein. The casing is fashioned so that the pipe elbow can be connected to the pipe conduit (1) in two different ways. In one type of mounting, the inner pipe (1) is bent out of the wall, the pipe elbow (3) is attached thereto, and the entire arrangement is then placed into the casing (4). In the second type, the pipe conduit is connected to the pipe elbow (3) which latter is inserted in the casing head (4) and attached therein. The casing neck consists of two half shells (5a, 5b) encompassing the clamping ring closure (10) projecting in the downward direction from the casing head (4), as well as a section of the pipe conduit (1 ). The casing neck fixedly clamps the outer pipe (2) in place and thereby prevents slipping out of this outer pipe.

  • Patent number: 5347660
Abstract: An adjustable high/low hook-up chin strap for an athletic helmet, wherein a pair of continuous straps having adjustable fasteners are fixedly connected to a chin cup. One of the straps is provided with a pair of spaced, longitudinally extending slits through which extend end portions of the other strap to provide a cross-over at each end of the chin cup. The slits are dimensioned to allow the other strap to slidably move therein through at least a .+-.35.degree. arc so that the adjustable fasteners thereon can be connected to the high hook-ups in the helmet regardless of their lower or higher position relative to the lower hook-ups, ups, and each strap can be independently tightened with its respective adjustable fasteners.

  • Patent number: 5344251
Abstract: A shear plug connector arrangement is formed by a bearing element (1) and a plug element (2) that can be introduced into the bearing element. The bearing element (1) comprises an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve (3 and 4, respectively). Between these two sleeves (3, 4), an elastic element (5) is arranged. The inner sleeve (4) and thus the plug element (2) introduced therein are mounted in floating fashion. This leads to a good footstep sound insulation. In accordance with the invention, a structure (7, 8, 9) is provided for limiting motion amplitudes at the bearing element (1) and/or at the plug element (2) so that the elastic element is not subject to excessive stresses and to ensuing short-term or long-term damage. The aforementioned structure is realized, for example, by an annular disk (8) on the front face of the inner sleeve (4), a nail plate (7) having a circular opening at the outer sleeve (3), and an interposed gap (9).

  • Patent number: 5344035
Abstract: A child resistant closure for a container wherein an outer cap is freely rotatable on an inner cap. A pair of oppositely extending latch tabs extend through passageways provided in the inner cap into recesses provided in the outer cap to couple the inner and outer caps for removal of the closure from the container. The latch tab members are connected to a manually rotatable hub so that the latch tab members are simultaneously moved to the coupled position. The recesses in the outer cap are provided with cam surfaces engagable with the latch tabs for automatically moving the latch tabs to the released position into the passageways during the securing of the closure to the bottle. Indicia are provided on the outer cap and hub member to indicate when the passageways and recesses are aligned and when the latch tabs have been extended into the recesses.

  • Patent number: 5316161
Abstract: A child resistant closure having an inner cap and an outer cap. The inner cap is normally biased into engagement with the outer cap for screwing the closure onto the container but the outer cap and inner cap become disengaged when the outer cap is turned in a direction to remove the closure from the container resulting in the outer cap being freely rotatable on the inner cap. Cooperating rigid fingers and teeth are provided on the inner and outer caps which become engaged when the outer cap is pushed downwardly to interconnect the inner and outer caps so that the closure can be removed from the container.
