  • Patent number: 6446345
Abstract: A rotary cutter for a mower capable of limiting the reeling out of a cord, when the free end of the cord is worn out to only when the rotary cutter is rotated at low speed thereby preventing pebbles or the like from being scattered. The rotary cutter is disengaged without the component parts being separated thereby facilitating reassembly. The rotary cutter includes a cord for mowing grass on being rotated, a reel for containing the cord and reeling out the cord intermittently while being rotated, a cover covering a case containing the reel, and a plunger projected downward from the case and movable in an axial direction by being pressed for intermittently rotating the reel. A ratchet is held at a constant position by an urging element which is moved outward to open against the direction of the urging element by the centrifugal force produced by rotating the rotary cutter at a high speed and is engaged with the plunger to thereby prevent the plunger from moving in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 6444400
Abstract: A method of making an electroconductive pattern on a support is disclosed. The support is provided with a polymer layer containing a polythiophene, a polyanion and a di- or polyhydroxy organic compound. Said layer is characterized by an initial surface resistivity (SRi) having a value which is higher than 104 &OHgr;/□, or more preferably higher than 106 &OHgr;/□. By heating selected areas of the polymer layer, the surface resistivity of these areas is reduced to SRi/&Dgr; wherein &Dgr; is at least 10, preferably at least 103 and more preferable at least 105. The electroconductive pattern thus obtained can be used as an electronic circuit for making an electric or semiconductor device such as a printed circuit board, an integrated circuit, a display, an electroluminescent device or a photovoltaic cell.

  • Patent number: 6423567
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the fabrication of contact structures in semiconductor components, in particular, solar cells, such as semiconductor components having such contact structures. According to one aspect of the present invention, after positioning of an etching mask (3) over a first layer respectively sequence of layers (2), indentations are etched through the first layer down to or into a second layer (1) lying therebelow. The etching occurs in such a manner that the etching mask (3) is undercut and/or at least one region of the first layer (2) contains negative flanks. Subsequently an electrically conductive material (9) is introduced into the indentations, with the etching mask (3) or the first layer (2) forming a shadow mask for the introduction of this material. This conductive material is only introduced to a height in the indentations at which there is no contact between the conductive material (9) and the first layer (2).

  • Patent number: 6417075
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of producing very thin substrate layers, particularly thin semiconductor areas, which may comprise integrated circuits. In the method two substrates (1, 2) are bonded by their faces via one or several intermediate connecting layers (3, 4). At least one of the bonding layers or the face of one of the substrates is structured before in such a way that channel-shaped recesses (5) are formed which permit a lateral penetration of an etching agent. The resulting wafer stack is thinned from one side down to the desired thickness of the layer. Finally, this thin layer is detached from the remaining substrate by introduction of the etching agent into the channel-shaped recesses. This detaching process is a low-price wet chemical process that does not expose the chip and the added value integrated thereon to any risk.
