  • Patent number: 7083066
Abstract: The invention relates to a dispenser of sheets stacked inside a compartment, such as a vertical one, with a dispensing slot and provided with means for slowing the advance of the stack of sheets. This dispenser is characterized in that such means are represented by flexible elements mounted so as to project into the compartment, elements on which the sheets rest. • Patent number: 7067141
Abstract: The short term effectiveness of pesticidal articles, for example pesticide impregnated textile covers for use in combating dust mite infestation, is improved by the additional presence of a quick release pesticide thereon, e.g. a wettable powder formulation of the same pesticide as used for impregnation. The invention is of particular value in the area of pyrethroid containing textile covers, e.g. as disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,916,580.

  • Patent number: 7065244
Abstract: Digitized mapping of a three dimensional area includes dividing the area into a plurality of primary regions having defined closed contours which are considered flat. Within selected primary regions, one or more secondary regions having defined closed flat contours are identified. Plan coordinate information for the contours of each primary and secondary region is then determined and stored in a file in a hierarchical fashion, where each selected primary region has stored thereunder identified secondary regions thereof. Certain primary and/or secondary regions are also designated for which elevation information is additionally desired. An imaginary grid of lines is defined on each of the designated regions, so that three dimensional coordinate information for each line intersection point of each grid is determined. This intersection point three dimensional coordinate information is stored in a file, whereby elevation information about each of the designated regions is available.

  • Patent number: 7056763
Abstract: The invention relates to a composite structure for electronic microsystems and a method for producing this composite structure, with the composite structure being provided with a polycrystalline diamond layer (4) for heat withdrawal. The growth substrate (1) contains or forms a component layer (2) with the electronic microsystems, which are provided with binary or higher order component compound semiconductors. A protective layer (3), which encloses the component layer at least indirectly almost entirely, is placed between the component layer 2 and the diamond layer (4). A material is selected for the protective layer whose reactivity with the precursor materials present in the deposition of the diamond layer (4) by means of CVD, preferably by means of plasma CVD, is smaller than that of the component layer (2), and said protective layer.

  • Patent number: 7055239
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for producing a book page index for facilitating the search for certain sections in a book. The device includes a bearing surface (1) on which a pile (3) of pages is placed. According to the invention, an index notch or thumb section (31) is to be formed on the upper region of the pile, along the front edge (7). To this end, preferably a circular, disk-shaped cutter head (17) is used, the cutter head having a cutting contour (21) on the circumference thereof. The device includes at least one displacement device (19) for moving the support and the cutter head towards or away from each other, so that the notch or thumb section to be formed can be produced on the front edge by means of the cutter head. The height of the thumb index can be set by lowering the bearing surface.

  • Patent number: 7045156
Abstract: A process for the production of a substance to eliminate the bacteria Helicobacter Pylori, involving boiling 3 (three) kilos of Cuachalalate (Amphipterygium adstringens) crust in sixteen (16) liters of water in a close express pan with a capacity of 21 (twenty-one) liters, for a period of 5 (five) hours, without permitting evaporation. After the boiling period has elapsed, using a filter system, the crust is separated from the resulting liquid or solution. After separating the crust, around six (6) liters of the new solution are obtained. Since the taste of the solution is strong, 1 (one) cubic centimeter of liquid menthol is added in order to make the solution more drinkable. After the prior steps have been taken, the solution must be refrigerated until it is bottled and used. Pills and tablets can be manufactured from the original solution.

  • Patent number: 7032725
Abstract: The novel methods, apparatus and reworked rotary braking surface product, for example those exhibited on interior cylindrical braking surfaces of a cast iron brake drum, serve to replace manufacturing defects exhibiting residual tensile stresses and outwardly directed tool marks with smooth compressed braking surfaces in a final manufacturing stage. The plastically deformed surface shape with reduced roughness and surface irregularities furthermore presents improved braking strength above the yield point and approaching the ultimate material strength of the base drum material. An ultrasonic transducer drives individual freely moving impact elements of a set at frequencies up to 55 kHz into the braking surface to effect plastic deformation at surface and sub-surface layers.

  • Patent number: 7029564
Abstract: In a dielectrophoretic cell having an array of electrodes and means to apply electrical signals to the electrodes. The electrodes include a planar array of serpentine or zig-zag electrodes with their curvatures in register. The serpentine electrodes may be sinusoidal, half sinusoidal, or elongated “C” in shape. The positions of maximum curvature of each serpentine or zig-zag electrode may be arranged in linear alignment, or along a curve. The cell may be used for stationary or traveling wave dielectrophoresis. Particles traveling in opposite directions in traveling wave dielectrophoresis can do so without interference, allowing “traffic control”. Particles can be characterized and separated, and particles at high concentrations, or particles of different types, can be handled.

  • Patent number: 7023343
Abstract: A method for producing a deactivatable tag is described including first short circuiting two opposite conductive layers at a predetermined place by using a heated tool applied on one of the layers, thereby permanently deforming such layer to produce a short, checking the quality of the short, and if the quality of the short is satisfactory, then connecting the two conductive layers with a crimp to obtain the desired frequency and finally removing the short by electrically or mechanically removing the short circuit to thereby bring the tag in the desired form ready for use and deactivation.

  • Patent number: 6997543
Abstract: A total-ink method ensures that the total amount of available colors remains the same such that the color characterization process can treat the restricted printing process as if it is dealing with a non-restricted printing process without loss of quality. This method enhances non-lossless, black generation methods traditionally used for total-ink restriction by generating compensated target device contone image data in which colorant applied to the media is limited based on a total ink constraint by providing a one-to-one mapping between each possible input contone image data value and each possible compensated target device contone image data value, using a bijective function, for example.

  • Patent number: 6992671
Abstract: Vector quantization provides font contour data reduction. Characters are defined in a font collection using segmented outline forms and common references stored to curve segments for similar segments in different characters of the font collection. Compressing the font collection preferably includes applying an entropy encoding data reduction. The common references are stored in a segment storage location. Another aspect includes decompressing a font store containing a compressed collection of outline fonts. The uncompressed curve segments are scaled so as to match a requested size for a letterform.

  • Patent number: RE38937
Abstract: It was an objective of the present invention to provide a susceptor which can prevent a increasing phenomenon of the dopant concentration of the epitaxial layer at the peripheral portion of the wafer. By providing a through-hole 7 passing through to a rear side at the outer peripheral side of the wafer inside the wafer pocket 6, a down flow of a reacting source gas from the upper surface of the susceptor 5 is formed, so that the unwanted flow of the dopant species being exhausted at the rear surface onto the wafer surface can be avoided. As a result, a raise in the dopant concentration at the outer peripheral portion of the epitaxial layer 9 can be controlled.
