Patent number: 4986568Abstract: A suspension with variable damping or variable shock absorbing which permits varying the damping as a function of various parameters such as the speed, the height, or steering angle of the wheels. An anti-inclination or stabilizer bar is connected to the suspension arms of the wheels and to the detector for detecting the height of the front axles. The detector provides an electrical signal corresponding to the angle of rotation of the center of the stabilizer bar to an electronic calculator. When the signal exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the calculator transmits information to actuators to change the suspension damping or stiffness. The detector includes a casing mounted on the chassis and having a lever arm driven in rotation by a linkage connected to a lever rigidly attached to the center of the stabilizer bar.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1990Date of Patent: January 22, 1991Assignees: Automobiles Peugeot, Automobiles CitroenInventors: Lucien Galtier, Andre Barthelemy, Roger Herbreteau

Patent number: 4962606Abstract: A safety mechanism in which a striker on the hammer can hit the firing pin to discharge the firearm only when the trigger is intentionally pulled and the pull on the trigger is maintained. The striker can move on the hammer and is pushed to the firing position by a weak spring. A safety arm associated with the trigger, pushes the striker to a mis-aligned position in which it cannot hit the firing pin. If the hammer is released accidently by inertial forces, such as dropping or bumping the firearm, the safety arm engages and mis-aligns the striker as the hammer falls, before the striker arrives at the firing pin. Pulling the trigger withdraws the safety arm, but the pull must be maintained until the hammer falls, in order to discharge the firearm.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1989Date of Patent: October 16, 1990Assignee: Amadeo Rossi S.A.Inventor: Oscar A. Patent number: 4690406Abstract: A variable balance racket has a weight moveable from an inactive or rest position near the grip of the handle to an active position adjacent the head of the racket to increase the striking force of the head. The weight can be moved to the active position and held in this active position by a retainer, against the action of an elastic element which returns the weight to the rest position. The weight is released in response to the centrifugal force of the swing of the racket so it is automatically returned to the rest position before the next swing. This arrangement enables the player to move the weight to the active position prior to a serve or anticipated smash, while returning the weight to the rest position after such a swing for normal play or repositioning in the active position by the player.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 1985Date of Patent: September 1, 1987Inventor: Jean Hufenus
