Abstract: A separation device for the removal of impurities extracted from a flexible conduit from a fuel such as liquefied petroleum gas is described having a housing with an inlet and an outlet, a means for channeling the fuel from the inlet onto an impingement surface in fluid communication with the fuel stream, the surface acting to condense the impurities, a gravity separation means for collecting the impurities removed from the fuel, and a means for channeling the fuel into an outlet.
Abstract: Signal processing apparatus produces an audio signal suitable for conveying a psychoacoustic perception of a low frequency audio signal to a listener, the apparatus generates harmonics of the low frequency signal by shaping the waveform of the low frequency signal with respect to time and/or level. This may be achieved using a peak-hold generator and a rectifier, or using a peak-hold-decay generator.

Abstract: A new and improved exercise treadmill may include a frame having a first end and a second end, wherein the second end is parallel to the first end. Two sidewalls interconnect the first and second end. The treadmill may further comprise a motor in order to drive a belt, which is trained over a front roller and a rear roller. A deck is positioned underneath the belt in order to support the user. The treadmill may also comprise a belt tensioning device, which provides a visual indicator so that the rear roller may be moved on each end in equal distance relative to the front roller. Another feature of the invention is a slot between the side rails and the frame so that an extended member can be inserted therein to lubricate the belt.
Abstract: A plow mounting assembly is provided for removably attaching a plow blade to the front end of a vehicle. The plow mounting assembly includes a frame assembly semi-permanently connected to a front end of an associated vehicle. A blade assembly includes a plow blade and a grasping assembly in a closed position removably connected to the frame assembly.
Abstract: An organic foliage compactor for compacting organic foliage into a bale is disclosed. The compactor includes a compactor frame and a compacting tube coupled to the compactor frame. The compacting tube includes a first end, a second end and a housing that defines an interior passage extending between the first end and the second end through which the organic foliage is urged to compact the organic foliage. A feed tube to which the organic foliage is to be introduced is in communication with the compacting tube. A driver provides an urging force to be imparted on organic foliage introduced to the feed tube, and a platen is operatively coupled to the driver for urging organic foliage introduced to the feed tube into the compacting tube where it is compacted as the organic foliage progresses through the interior passage defined by the housing between the first end and the second end of the compacting tube as a substantially steady-state process.
Abstract: A sensor arrangement is provided for use in the seismic investigation of geological formations below the seabed. A plurality of sensor nodes (20) are provided and are positioned gfor deployment on the seabed to collect pressure waves and shear waves from the geological formations and to transfer seismic data to a surface receiver. Each sensor node (20) may include a cylindrical structure (22), which is intended to penetrate downwardly into the seabed. At least one, preferably three, geophones (30-32) are positioned in connection with this structure (22). An advantageous method for operating a seismic mapping system with sensor arrangements orderly deployed on the seabed records data concerning system behavior and seismic data. This data may be further processed separately.
Abstract: A crossbow includes a safety mechanism located on the stock of the crossbow that prevents the crossbow from firing until the safety mechanism is properly engaged. The safety mechanism includes a push button that requires the operator appendages to be securely below the path of the traveling bolt before the trigger mechanism will release.
Abstract: A hinge system is used to adjust a cover member between a closed position where the cover member covers at least a portion of a vehicle bed and an open position where the cover member does not cover the vehicle bed. The hinge system may include first and second arms that are pivotally attached and a biasing device operatively connected to the first and second arms that biases the cover member toward the open position whenever the cover member is not in the closed position and that does not bias the cover member toward the open position whenever the cover member is in the closed position.
Abstract: An inventive check is disclosed including a barcode, which includes at least one of the following pieces of information: the date the check was paid, the amount of the check, the payee, the drawers account number, the banks routing number, and the identifier number of the check. A method for preventing check fraud is also provided, including the steps of attaching a machine readable code on a negotiable instrument, creating a negotiable instrument, the drawee receiving the negotiable instrument, and the drawee scanning the machine readable code. A method is also included for integrating the entire checking process.
Abstract: A new and improved method for pre-treating stencils is herein disclosed. A release agent provides a protective barrier when applied to stencils prior to applying paint to the surface. The release agent allows the paint to removed by soaking and/or washing the pre-treated surface with warm water.
Abstract: This invention relates to a tire curing system having a plurality of molds disposed in side by side relation, transporting means for transporting green tires to the tire curing system, loading means for loading a green tire into a bottom mold half of one of the molds, mold closing means for closing a top mold half over the bottom mold half, self-locking means for locking the top mold half to the bottom mold half, curing means for curing the green tires, mold opening means for opening the top mold half from the bottom mold half, unloading means for unloading the cured tire from the bottom mold half and take-away means for carrying the cured tires away from the curing system. The loading means and the unloading means include a movable robot and the mold closing means and the mold opening means include a movable manipulator. The robot and the manipulator move in straight lines.

Abstract: A pharmaceutical preparation of Chinese herbal medicines for tonifying the kidneys and alleviating asthma is disclosed herein. The Chinese herbal medicines include Perilla Frutescens, Prunus Armeniaca, Glycyrrhiza Uralensis, Scutellaria Baicalensis, Coptis Chinesis, Tusilago Farfara, Stemona Sessilifolia, Fritillaria Cirrhosa, Pheretima Aspergillum, Psoralaea Corylifolia, Codonopsis Pilosula, Hordeum Vulgara, Massa Fermentata Medicalis, Schisandra Chinesis, and Gypsum. The preparation is used to treat thousands of patients suffering from asthma with an effective rate of 93%. The present preparation can relieve cough, expel phlegm, resist airway allergic inflammation reaction, improve pulmonary function, partial pressure of the oxygen in the blood, increase CD2, CD4, CD4/CD8, reduce IgE in blood, increase CAMP, reduce CGMP, stabilize mast cells, and inhibit the release of histamine, which make it capable of stopping an asthma attack.
Abstract: Three methods of constructing tires having functionally graded belts are provided. According to one method a bandage is used to hold neighboring belt segments in position so they may be simultaneously applied to a carcass. According to a second method, longitudinal incisions are applied to a belt ply to achieve the desired belt stiffness. According to a third method clamps are applied to a belt ply to reorient the belt cords.

Abstract: An engine-driven vehicle cooling device includes an engine room for reception of an engine, a radiator provided within the engine room for cooling down a cooling water circulating through the engine, a cooling fan positioned between the engine and the radiator for blowing an internal air present in the engine room toward the radiator, a charged air cooler smaller in size than the radiator and disposed between the radiator and the cooling fan in a parallel relationship with the radiator, a shroud provided at an intake side of the cooling fan in the engine room for obstructing a stream of the internal air heading for the charged air cooler, and an external air inlet opening provided between the shroud and the cooling fan for allowing an external air present outside the engine room to be supplied to the charged air cooler as the cooling fan is caused to rotate.
