  • Patent number: 7520093
Abstract: A frame construction of a sliding door or a sliding window has a main frame, a displaceable running carriage (4) for holding a displaceable door wing (T) or window sash, holding profiles (5) for holding the door wings (F, T) or window sashes, outer sealing elements (8) which bear in a sliding manner between the holding profiles (5) and an outer region of the main frame, and inner sealing elements (8?) which bear in a sliding manner between the holding profiles (5) and an inner region of the main frame. There is furthermore an insulating body (7) which divides the main frame into an outer and an inner frame part (1, 2) and completely separates these parts from each other. The inner sealing element (8?) bears against the insulating body (7) or against a central frame part (3) of the main frame, the central frame part (3) being completely separated from the first and second frame parts (1, 2).

  • Patent number: 7519487
Abstract: The alternating current potential drop ACPD technique is used to monitor surface cracks in electrical conductors. At high frequencies, the current flows in a superficial skin layer. Two distinct solutions are currently available for the thin and thick skin cases. However, there is no general solution that bridges these two modes in a seamless fashion. A numerical model is used to analyze the ACPD of a surface crack with uniform depth. A general solution is given that bridges the thin and thick skin solutions, which closely matches the numerical results, irrespective of the skin thickness. Methods for estimating depth of cracks are provided for surface penetrating cracks and back cracks.

  • Patent number: 7513371
Abstract: The invention is an apparatus and method for on-line sorting of waste matter, at the entrance to a waste processing plant, according to the level of specific chemicals, typically chlorine detected therein. The apparatus comprises a waste matter inlet that provides waste matter to a weighing module, preferably until a preset limit is reached. Then, this control volume of waste is introduced into a pulsed neutron material analyzer that is optimized for the determination of the content of the specific chemical in the control volume. A control means such as a computer then decides whether the level of the chemical in the waste control volume is above or below a preset threshold, and accordingly channels the waste into one or another of two channels. One of these channels accepts waste with low content of the given chemical, for introduction into the waste processing chamber.
