  • Patent number: 6639747
Abstract: The present invention relates to a signal recording and reproducing method used for video tape recorder. An erasing position precedes a recording position and a reproducing position precedes the erasing position. By using a period when reproducing does not reproduce a signal recorded on a track of a tape-like storage medium, the period occurring during recording and reproducing operation, recording apparatus records a signal on a recording track or erasing apparatus erases a signal recorded on a recording track. Hereby, if a signal recorded on a recording track of the tape-like storage medium is processed and replaced, the signal recorded on the recording track of the tape-like storage medium can be satisfactorily reproduced without being influenced by signal recording operation and signal erasing operation.

  • Patent number: 6611262
Abstract: A system controller directs a storage device to output a scene description data corresponding to a user request signal. A parsing circuit extracts a URL (Uniform Resource Locator) included in the scene description data, and causes storage devices to output elementary stream and object stream corresponding to the URL. After extracting an object descriptor from the object stream, a generator generates an ID of this object descriptor and supplies it to an encoder. Further, the generator adds the ID to the object descriptor and outputs the ID-added object descriptor to a multiplexer. The multiplexer multiplexes the scene description data including the ID that has been converted into binary format, the object descriptor and the elementary streams into a multiplexed stream for output thereof.

  • Patent number: 6606026
Abstract: In order to prevent meaningless data from being displayed when the data stored in the memory of tag cannot be displayed, the following is performed. When it is judged that matching of character set information intrinsic to the information processing apparatus and that stored in the tag is not attained, the read writer reads, from the tag, the alternative data different from the data to be displayed intrinsically, converts the data to the predetermined format and then supplies this data to the OSD section. The OSD section converts the data supplied to the data which can be displayed, causing the display section to display this data. Moreover, the read writer generates the warning display data suggesting that matching of character set information is not attained and then supplies this data to the OSD section. The OSD section causes the display section to additionally display the warning display data to the display image.

  • Patent number: 6597766
Abstract: At the time of call arrival, when the user of a telephone terminal depresses a response key or performs some other tentative responding manipulation instead of lifting up a handset, the telephone terminal transmits a self-introduction request message to the caller. A self-introduction voice transmitted from the caller in response is emitted from a speaker. Listening to the self-introduction voice, the user identifies the caller. If the user wants to talk to the caller, he depresses a communication key or lifts up the handset as a true responding manipulation and then starts a communication with the caller. On the other hand, if the user does not want to talk to the caller, he depresses an automatic answering mode setting key or a disconnection key.
