    Abstract: A control arrangement for a belt printer having characters arranged in successive series on an endless belt and passed continuously in front of a print support and hammers adapted to be actuated by a control device. A recording store is connected to a calculating unit and records information relating to each character to be printed along a line on the print support. A scan register contains information relating to the coincidences between the characters and the striking members at any given time. Information corresponding to the condition when a predetermined character is to be struck by a given hammer in the course of a given scan, is stored in a storage member along with information indicative of whether or not the predetermined character is repeated in the series of characters.

    Abstract: A process and apparatus for developing photographs is provided wherein photographic sensitive material is held in a holding frame. The sensitive material is soaked in a developing solution by positioning the holding frame in a development tank with its upper and lower end faces spaced with predetermined distances, preferably more than 10 millimeters, apart respectively from the upper and bottom surfaces of the development tank. Thereafter the position of the development tank is reversed up and down at predetermined times while the developing-out of the sensitive material is carried out.

    Abstract: A toe guard is provided for a pivotable dock board in which the toe guard includes two relatively telescopically mounted plates for increasing the vertical height of protection at each side of the dock board. A dock board to which the present invention is applicable includes a ramp that is designed for pivoted mounting in a pit formed in a loading dock. This ramp includes an upper transport plate which alternatively forms a contiguous surface portion of the dock or may be pivoted to a relatively depressed or relatively elevated position with respect to the dock to permit transfer and transport of persons and equipment between the dock and an adjacently positioned vehicle. The sides of the ramp form an exposed area when the ramp is elevated with respect to the dock and toe guards are provided to prevent injury to personnel who may be standing closely adjacent to the dock and may inadvertently place their feet into the operating space of the ramp and possibly result in personal injury.

    Abstract: Control of vertical motion of a suspended crane hook assembly to accommodate vertical motion between a station carrying the crane and a station carrying a load is achieved by a transducer on the hook assembly and a control cord depending onto the load station. Tension above a set value in the cord produced by a crew member on the station causes the hook assembly to descend and below the set value causes it to rise. Movement of the stations causes a continuous adjustment of tension and the hook assembly follows the motion, extra tension being applied to guide the hook assembly down to the load and vice versa.
