Abstract: A method of forming diffusion sidewalls in a semiconductor structure and a semiconductor structure having diffusion sidewalls includes etching a trench into a semiconductor substrate to form first and second active regions, lining each trench with an oxide liner along exposed sidewalls of an active silicon region (RX) of the first and second active regions, removing the oxide liner formed along the exposed sidewalls of the RX region of one of the first and second active regions, forming diffusion sidewalls by epitaxially growing in-situ doped material within the exposed sidewalls of the RX region of the one of the first and second active regions, and forming an isolation region within the trench between the first and second active regions to electrically isolate the first and second active regions from each other.

Abstract: The present invention provides system and method for a group priority issue schema for a cascaded pipeline. The system includes a cascaded delayed execution pipeline unit having a plurality of execution pipelines that execute instructions in a common issue group in a delayed manner relative to each other. The system further includes circuitry configured to receiving an issue group of instructions, reordering the issue group of instructions using instruction type priority, and executing the reordered issue group of instructions in the cascaded delayed execution pipeline unit. Abstract: A state of an input/output (I/O) operation in an I/O processing system is determined. A request for performing the I/O operation is received from an I/O operating system at a channel subsystem and forwarded to a control unit controlling an I/O device for executing the I/O operation. After a predetermined amount of time passes without receiving indication from the control unit that the I/O operation is completed, an interrogation request is received at the channel subsystem from the I/O operating system for determining the state of the I/O operation. An interrogation command is sent from the channel subsystem to the control unit. A response is received from the control unit, the response indicates a state of the I/O device executing the I/O operation, a state of the control unit controlling the I/O device executing the I/O operation, and the state of the I/O operation being executed.

Abstract: An electrochromic fiber or fabric is disclosed. The fiber or fabric includes a flexible, electrically conductive fiber, and a layer comprising an electrochromic material disposed on and surrounding the flexible, electrically conductive fiber. In one embodiment, the fiber or fabric is both flexible and elastic. Abstract: An apparatus for maintaining alignment between precision ground plates includes a first plate including a main body portion having plurality of passages. The first plate also includes a first heating device mounted to heat the main body portion to a selected temperature. Abstract: Disclosed herein is a data center having a plurality of liquid cooled computer systems. The computer systems each include a processor coupled with a cold plate that allows direct liquid cooling of the processor. The cold plate is further arranged to provide adapted flow of coolant to different portions of the processor whereby higher temperature regions receive a larger flow rate of coolant. The flow is variably adjusted to reflect different levels of activity. By maximizing the coolant temperature exiting the computer systems, the system may utilize the free cooling temperature of the ambient air and eliminate the need for a chiller. A data center is further provided that is coupled with a district heating system and heat is extracted from the computer systems is used to offset carbon emissions and reduce the total cost of ownership of the data center.

Abstract: Nanocrystal-metal oxide-polymer composites and their methods of preparation are described. The composites comprises a number of nanocrystals within a metal oxide matrix, and an oligomer or polymer covalently bonded to organic reactive groups of the metal oxide matrix. The composites can be applied to a variety of electronic devices. The electronic devices constructed from the composites do not decrease in performance rapidly due to degradation and exhibit improved stability.
Abstract: A flexible printed circuit film includes a film including a first region of an adhesion region and a second region outside of the adhesion region, a signal wire formed on the second region, and reinforcement wiring connected to the signal wire and formed on the first region and the second region. The reinforcement wiring includes a bent portion having a plurality of inner corners and a plurality of outer corners, and the inner corners of the reinforcement wiring are spaced apart from a boundary between the first region and the second region. Accordingly, even though an external force is applied to the flexible printed circuit film, the reinforcement wiring may be prevented from being easily damaged.

The plurality of mounting members engage with corresponding ones of the plurality of mounting elements to detachably mount the star member to the first end portion of the spool.
