  • Patent number: 8096419
Abstract: The present invention provides photosensitizing agents obtained by reducing a single double bond in the porphyrin macrocycle of a sulphonated meso-tetraphenylporphyrin, preferably a disulphonated meso-tetraphenylporphyrin such as TPPS2a. The resulting sulphonated meso-tetraphenyl chlorins include compounds of formula I: (wherein X is —SO3H; n, p, q and r are each independently 0 or 1; and the sum of n, p, q and r is an integer from 1 to 4, preferably at least 2, e.g. 2 or 4) isomers and isomer mixtures thereof. The compounds of the invention and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts find particular use as photosensitizing agents in the photochemical internalization of molecules and in photodynamic therapy.

  • Patent number: 8093847
Abstract: A back electromotive force detection circuit detects a zero-crossing point by comparing a back electromotive force Vu in at least one coil of a motor with a center tap voltage at a common node of the coils, and outputs a back electromotive force detection signal. A switching control circuit controls switching states of multiple switching circuits based upon the back electromotive force detection signal, thereby adjusting the current flowing through the coils. A window generating circuit outputs a window signal at a predetermined level during a period obtained by multiplying the cycle of the back electromotive force detection signal by a predetermined coefficient before the detection of the zero-crossing point. The switching control circuit stops the switching operation during a period in which the window signal is maintained at the predetermined level, thereby setting the state to the high impedance state that corresponds to a non-driving period.

  • Patent number: 8093848
Abstract: One terminal of a first capacitor is set to a fixed electric potential. A charging/discharging circuit charges/discharges the first capacitor using a current that corresponds to an input signal which specifies the revolution of a motor. A comparator compares a voltage at the first capacitor with a predetermined voltage. A control signal generating unit generates a control voltage having a level that corresponds to an edge timing of a frequency signal synchronized with the rotation of the motor and an edge timing of the comparison signal output from the first comparator. Furthermore, the control signal generating unit switches the charging/discharging state of a charging/discharging circuit according to an edge of the periodic signal and an edge of the comparison signal. The motor is driven with a torque according to the control voltage.

  • Patent number: 8093846
Abstract: In the motor drive apparatus, a Hall element outputs a first sinusoidal signal and a second sinusoidal signal, of mutually opposite phases, in accordance with rotor position. A hysteresis comparator compares the first sinusoidal signal and the second sinusoidal signal outputted from the Hall element, and outputs a rectangular wave signal. A pulse width modulation signal generation circuit detects timing at which phase switches, based on the first sinusoidal signal and the second sinusoidal signal outputted from the Hall element, and outputs a pulse width modulation signal in which duty ratio gradually changes, in a predetermined time-period in which the phase switches. A drive circuit combines the rectangular wave signal and the pulse width modulation signal by a logical operation, and drives the fan motor.

  • Patent number: 8095121
Abstract: An automatic telephone service forwarding device including a base or enclosure defining a socket for receiving a wireless telephone. Upon detecting the presence of the wireless telephone in the socket, the device automatically forwards telephone service for the wireless telephone to a previously-stored forwarding directory number, typically the directory number of a wireline unit located nearby. Alternatively, the automatic telephone service forwarding device may be incorporated directly into a wireless telephone. In this case, the wireless telephone includes a “forward” button and a scrollable list of forwarding telephone numbers. The automatic telephone service forwarding device may also be configured to automatically select certain forwarding directory numbers from the list in accordance with a predefined time-based profile.

  • Patent number: 8095741
Abstract: A computing system processes memory transactions for parallel processing of multiple threads of execution provides execution of multiple atomic instruction groups (AIGs) on multiple systems to support a single large transaction that requires operations on multiple threads of execution and/or on multiple systems connected by a network. The support provides a Transaction Table in memory and fast detection of potential conflicts between multiple transactions. Special instructions may mark the boundaries of a transaction and identify memory locations applicable to a transaction. A ‘private to transaction’ (PTRAN) tag, directly addressable as part of the main data storage memory location, enables a quick detection of potential conflicts with other transactions that are concurrently executing on another thread. The tag indicates whether (or not) a data entry in memory is part of a speculative memory state of an uncommitted transaction that is currently active in the system.
