Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, an apparatus, including: first and second handles; first and second crimping jaws operatively connected, respectively, to the first and second handles, such that moving the first and second handles toward each other causes the first and second crimping jaws to advance toward each other thereby to crimp a band around tubing or pipe; and a third handle rotatably attached to the first handle, such that a user of the apparatus manually moves the first handle toward the second handle by grasping the second handle and the third handle and moving them toward each other. A method of using the apparatus is also provided.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method, and computer program product to accelerate provisioning by dynamically creating dynamic free pools (DFPs) of pre-provisioned resources that are provisioned in advance, and are ready and free for use. A DFP construct for a resource, and its associated dynamic free pool manager are generated dynamically from a formal description of an aggregated resource structure (e.g. in the form of an XML schema). The present invention also provides a system, method, and computer program product to improve the delivery time of SEs based on the DFP constructs. The methods are extended to deal with special conditions such as contention over resources, or critical delivery time.

Abstract: A dynamic radiographing system enables determination of an evaluation value of the heart function of a subject by plain radiography. The dynamic radiographing system comprises a radiographing apparatus, an image processing apparatus, and a console for diagnosis. The radiographing apparatus dynamically radiographs the heart of a subject and creates radiographs in plural time phases (Step S1). The image processing apparatus calculates an evaluation value of the heart function by using the radiographs in plural time phases (Step S4). The console for diagnosis displays information on the calculated evaluation value on the display section (Step S5).

Abstract: A line retention system includes a positionally fixed retainer having one or more recesses therein that are receptive to one or more lines. The system further includes one or more spline recesses in the positionally fixed retainer receptive to one or more position splines and one or more position splines that are receivable in the one or more spline recesses. A method for retaining one or more lines is included.
Abstract: A phase delay element includes a brightness enhancement layer intermediate a reflection layer and an artificial light. The brightness enhancement layer is defined by a first surface and an opposite second surface. The first surface faces the reflection layer. A first light from the artificial light is incident on the second surface. A phase of the first light is delayed by about 1/4 phase (?/4) so that a second light is emitted from the first surface toward the reflection layer. The second light is reflected from the reflection layer so that a third light is emitted from the reflection layer toward the first surface. A phase of the third light is delayed by about 1/4 phase (?/4) so that a fourth light is emitted from the second surface. Therefore, a portion of the artificial light, which is reflected from the reflection layer, is recycled to improve a luminance of an LCD apparatus.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a photodetector using nanoparticles, and more particularly, to a novel photodetector wherein surfaces of nanoparticles synthesized by a wet colloidal process are capped with organic materials which then serve as channels for electron migration, or nanoparticles, from which organic materials capped on the surfaces of nanoparticles are removed to form a close-packed particle structure, directly serve to transport electrons. In accordance with specific embodiments of the present invention, it is possible to improve performance of the photodetector and simplify the manufacturing process thereof.
