  • Patent number: 8164699
Abstract: A display panel includes a first substrate having a first line and a second line and a second substrate facing the first substrate. The first substrate includes an electrostatic discharger that is electrically connected to the first line to discharge a static electricity inflowing into the display panel through the first line to an exterior. Also, the second substrate includes a common electrode through which an opening is formed by removing an area of the common electrode corresponding with the electrostatic discharger. Thus, the electrostatic discharger may be prevented from being shorted with the common electrode, thereby preventing a display quality of the display panel from being deteriorated.

  • Patent number: 8166453
Abstract: A method and system for inconsistency resolution in a model-driven software development environment are provided. A method includes performing a safety analysis for resolutions in response to detected inconsistencies to determine whether the resolution, if implemented, will lead to a resolution cycle when applied to a given inconsistency. The determination includes processing a resolution tree for the inconsistency and, using a resolution strategy tree, for each resolution that resolves an inconsistency, analyzing whether beginning with the resolution, it is possible to resolve all the inconsistencies subsequently introduced as side effects without a resolution cycle occurring. The analysis includes traversing the resolution strategy tree, whereby all resolution strategies derived by traversing the resolution strategy tree lead to a resolution cycle if the resolution strategy tree is infinite.

  • Patent number: 8164980
Abstract: A drill string component includes a box-end and a pin-end. Each end includes a signal transceiver, which are operably coupled together. Each signal transceiver communicates with another signal transceiver in another component to form a communication network in the drillstring. An end-cap may be placed in the central bore of the pin-end of a component to form an annular chamber between a side of the end-cap and a wall of the central bore of the pin-end when the end-cap is disposed in the central bore. In some embodiments, an electronics module may be placed in the annular chamber and configured to communicate with one of the signal transceivers. Accelerometer data, as well as other sensor data, at various locations along the drillstring may be sampled by the electronics module and communicated to a remote computer. Drillstring motion dynamics, such as vibration, may be determined based on the accelerometer data.
