Abstract: A bow system is disclosed for an open top of a truck bed. A pair of brackets are fastened to the truck bed proximate a side wall, and have an extension extending generally inwardly and upwardly. A bow having a width greater than its height spans the open top of the truck bed, and is fastened to the extensions.
Abstract: A reduced noise optical system is provided for use in measuring distance, range-finding and scanning. The system comprises at least one lens, at least one receiver operably positioned to receive a return beam of light reflected from an object and a limiting aperture operably aligned with the lens to limit the signal, and thus the noise, transmitted in the return beam.
Abstract: A method of performing a medical procedure, such as surgery, is provided. A nerve is stimulated in order to adjust the beating of the heart to a first condition, such as a stopped or slowed condition. The medical procedure is performed on the heart or another organ. The stimulation of the nerve is stopped in order to adjust the beating of the heart to a second condition, such as a beating condition. The heart itself may also be stimulated to a beating condition, such as by pacing. The stimulation of the nerve may be continued in order to allow the medical procedure to be continued. Systems and devices for performing the medical procedure are also provided.

Abstract: A land grid array (LGA) cooling assembly and method of a cooling member assembly are provided. The LGA assembly includes a card, a module electrically connected to the card, a plurality of load posts operably attached to the card, a load frame operably attached to the load posts, and a cooling member operably attached to the load frame to allow removal of the cooling member from the assembly without disrupting the electrical connection between the module and the card. The method of assembling a land grid array cooling member assembly includes electrically connecting a module and a card, operably connecting a load frame to the card, and removably attaching a cooling member the load frame without affecting the electrical connection between the module and the card.

Abstract: The invention pertains to an anti-theft locking system that can be applied to a wide variety of electronic components. The locking system incorporates a locking assembly that is installed through a locking passage provided within each electronic component to be protected. The housings of each component and the internal circuitry are provided with the locking passage so that any attempt to remove the locking assembly will result with destruction of the internal components and the housing, making the item attempted to be stolen worthless.
Abstract: An optical system for measuring distance and for range-finding is provided. This single beam system uses a polarization selector and a retardation plate to take advantage of the polarization properties of light from a transmit source and of light reflected to a receiver. Another embodiment of the system uses the properties of certain types of transmit sources to further reduce the dimensions of the system. Methods for using the system are also provided.
Abstract: Dual amplifying circuits having a magnetic tunnel junction device and a field effect transistor configured in a complementing set are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the field effect transistor is operable to control a current level of a current operating signal flowing through the magnetic tunnel junction device. In another embodiment, the magnetic tunnel junction device is operable to control a voltage level of a voltage signal being applied to a gate terminal of the field effect transistor. The gain-bandwidth product of both embodiments is greater than the individual gain-bandwidth products of the individual devices through the elimination of noise contributing resistive type circuit elements.

Abstract: The present invention relates to devices and methods for removing veins in a venous system of a patient. One device for removing undesired veins includes an elongated member having first and second lumens extending longitudinally therein. The first lumen extends from the proximal end of the elongated member to a first opening at the distal end of the member. The second lumen extends from the proximal end of the elongated member to a second opening in the side of the elongated member. The proximal end of the elongated body is coupled to a connector having two separate tubes that communicate with the respective first and second lumen for the injection and removal of fluid. A vein attachment member, attached to the elongated member, is adapted to be secured to the vein.
Abstract: A tabber apparatus includes a frame, a friction drive roller rotatably and operatively connected to the frame, and a take-up spool rotatably and operatively connected to the frame and operatively connected to the friction drive roller to allow backing paper which is wrapped about a portion of the friction drive roller to be taken up into the take-up spool. The tabber further includes a slick tab drive roller to provide proper placement of the tab on the media, a tab brake including a roller positionable between a first and second position to rotate a tab reel spindle, and a tab and media sensor operatively connected to a microcontroller to activate and deactivate a tab dispensing motor. Moreover, the tabber apparatus further includes removable upper shafts which are retained by spring-loaded retaining members which fit into grooves on the shafts.
Abstract: A controlled environment sealing apparatus includes a reciprocating seal head positioned above an intermittent conveyer carrying product-filled trays, a film feeder to dispense film between the tray and reciprocating seal head, and at least one seal head gassing assembly positioned in the seal head and oriented to direct a flow of controlled environment gas through a cut-out portion of the film into a product-filled tray positioned beneath the seal head. The seal head gassing assembly may preferably direct a high velocity controlled environment gas stream surrounded by a lower velocity controlled environment gas stream downward into the tray.
