  • Patent number: 6395344
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for carrying out a magnesium oxide based deposition on the dielectric surface of a glass plate of a display panel. The method includes the creation of a mist from a metalorganic compound of magnesium dissolved in a solvent, the conveying of the mist to the dielectric surface of the plate, the evaporation the solvent when approaching the dielectric surface of the plate which is taken to a temperature of about 380° to 430°, and the pyrolysis of the metalorganic compound leading to the magnesium oxide based deposit on the surface of the plate and the evaporation of the organic radical of the compound, this deposit being practically waterproof. The method is especially useful in the manufacture of plasma panels.

  • Patent number: 6369494
Abstract: The invention relates to a cathode structure intended to be inserted into an electron gun for a cathode-ray tube. The cathode comprises a cathode body on the end of which is placed an emissive pellet, the cathode body being held in place inside a sheath by supporting means which comprise: a first series of branches, each branch being connected on one side to the cathode body and on the other side to an intermediate piece 30; and a second series of branches, each branch being connected on one side to the sheath and on the other side to the same intermediate piece.

  • Patent number: 6326110
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, a method of electrophotographically manufacturing a luminescent screen assembly on an interior surface of a faceplate panel 17 of a color CRT 10 includes the steps of: coating the surface of the panel with a conductive solution to form a volatilizable organic conductive layer 32, and overcoating the organic conductive layer 32 with a photoconductive solution to form a volatilizable photoconductive layer 34. The conductive solution comprises the organic polymer 3,4-polyethylene dioxythiophene polystyrene sulphonate (PEDT/PSS); a methanol-soluble polymer or co-polymer selected from the group consisting of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), poly (vinyl pyridine-co-vinyl acetate) (PVPy-VAc), polymethacrylic acid (PMAA), poly (hydroxyethylacrylate-co-methacrylic acid) (PHEA-MAA) and poly (hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) to reduce organic residue; and a solvent.

  • Patent number: 6242855
Abstract: An improved color picture tube (10) has a shadow mask (24) mounted therein in spaced relation to a viewing screen (22) thereof. The mask has a rectangular periphery with two long sides and two short sides. A major axis (X) passes through the center of the mask and parallels the long sides thereof, and a minor axis (Y) passes through the center of the mask and parallels the short sides thereof. The mask has an aperture array (35) that includes slit-shaped apertures (36) aligned in columns (37) that essentially parallel the minor axis and end at a border of the aperture array. The improvement comprises the column-to-column spacing (aH) parallel to the major axis including a pseudo-cyclic variation at least in a portion of the mask, wherein a complete cycle within the pseudo-cyclic variation occurs in the column-to-column spacings between no more than nine consecutive columns.

  • Patent number: 6082968
Abstract: A centrifugally activated variable damper assembly for a stopped-rotor aircraft is disclosed for adjusting dampening level of teetering motions produced by the rotors during the in-flight conversion process from rotary-wing to fixed-wing flight, or vise versa. The assembly includes a damper valve responsive to centrifugal forces produced by rotational speed of the aircraft rotor. The assembly also includes dampers within the rotor system that operate at variable damping levels in response to centrifugal forces acting upon the damper valve.

  • Patent number: 6000659
Abstract: A fully reclinable pivotable airplane premium passenger seat. The seat can be translated and/or pivoted from a daytime position to a nighttime position. In the nighttime position, the seat can be fully extended into unused aisle space. In its fully extended position, the seat back may be placed in a horizontal mode and the leg rest fully extended to permit more restful sleep for passengers in a horizontal position.

  • Patent number: 5973470
Abstract: A compensation design allows for use of a generic servoamplifier for multiple types of actuator Direct Drive Valves (DDV). Cost savings can be realized by using common electronics applied to multiple actuator types. The implementation allows for design of the compensation directly from experimentally or analytically derived frequency performance curves of the generic servoamplifier resulting in the performance comparable to a custom servoamplifier for the direct drive valves.
