  • Patent number: 5025980
Abstract: This relates to a mailing envelope which may be utilized by one of the express mail services. The envelope is distinguished over existing envelopes by being provided with two closure flaps which permit the envelope to be utilized twice and possibly as a return envelope. In the first usage, the first closure flap is folded to an out of the way position beneath the second closure flap and becomes usable only after the second closure flap has been removed. The envelope also includes a removable label panel to which the second closure flap is initially bonded and is removed with the second closure flap when the envelope is first opened so as to permit the use of the second closure flap in the reclosing of the envelope and also to provide new surface to which mailing instructions, etc. may be applied.

  • Patent number: 5024480
Abstract: The bodywork is accomplished with longitudinal members of the passenger compartment, and with upper crosspieces of the doors, which can be adapted to different models of automobiles by means of the use of supplementary section bars. This is done according to whether the bodywork is accomplished with doors of traditional type, or with doors of the so-said "enveloping" type. To the longitudinal member or to the structure of the crosspiece of the door at least a supplementary section bar is fastened. In particular, it is welded and shaped as to at least partially seal the longitudinal chamber defined between the longitudinal member and the structure of the crosspiece.

  • Patent number: 5017161
Abstract: An electric terminal connector comprises a generally tubular metal part adapted to fit over the previously bared end of the conductive core of an insulated electric conductor. An insulative sleeve has a front portion adapted to be engaged with this metal part and a rear portion larger than the front portion adapted to fit over the corresponding end of the insulation of the electric conductor. The inner end of the metal part is initially straight and is deformed during manufacture into a tulip-shape having on its end surface an outside edge adapted to form an anchor edge by means of which it is anchored to the insulative part. The insulative part has a transverse shoulder with an inside diameter which is less than that of the inside edge of the end surface of the inner end of the metal part and the inner end of the metal part is aligned with the transverse shoulder.

  • Patent number: 5016769
Abstract: This relates to a conventional type of closure having a central button which is normally provided with an "up" convex state and which is movable by a vacuum within an associated container to a "down" concave state. The button, as formed, has a zero or tensile stress state with the stress state changing to a compressive stress state when the button is drawn downwardly by a vacuum within the associated container. In accordance with this invention, the button has been reformed so that it is slightly flattened and this reforming has changed the zero or tensile stress state to a compressive stress state thereby providing the button with more stored energy when it is drawn downwardly by a vacuum within an associated container. This additional stored energy provides for a greater flipping action of the button which can be utilized to operate an irreversible tamper indicating system which may be applied to the button.

  • Patent number: 5013281
Abstract: In a monobloc hub of the kind having an integral hub plate formed with openings at or towards its outer periphery, the hub is also provided with a number of projections. Some of the opening are adapted to receive circumferentially acting resilient springs. The hub is preferably that of a torsion damper, particularly for a friction clutch for an automotive vehicle. The hub is formed in one piece by orbital forging. The various projections provide a local increase in the thickness of the hub plate, wherever required and especially in the region of the various peripheral openings in the hub plate.

  • Patent number: 5005720
Abstract: This relates to a plastic closure cap for containers wherein the closure cap has a tamper indicating band for locking beneath a transfer bead on a container neck finish to indicate tampering. The closure cap is molded as an intermediate article of manufacture with the tamper indicating band being formed integrally with the skirt of the closure cap. The article also includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced, axially extending and radially outwardly directed protrusions which bridge across the skirt and tamper indicating band. The closure cap is formed from the intermediate article of manufacture by horizontally slitting the lower part of the closure cap along the intended line of juncture between the tamper indicating band and closure cap skirt.

  • Patent number: 5005728
Abstract: This relates to a conventional type metal container end having a modified end hook configuration for the purpose of eliminating undesired wrinkles within a conventional type of double seam between a metal container end and a container body. Most particularly, a customary straight section between an end curl and a cut edge of the metal container end is eliminated so that the end curl terminates at the cut edge. Additionally, the end curl is reinforced so as to stiffen the end curl by providing a reinforcement generally in the area of the normal juncture between a seaming panel and the end curl. In a preferred embodiment the reinforcement is arched primarily upwardly.
